Best dental experience ever. Even if I move I will make the trek to continue to go here. I once had an extreme fear of dental work but it's almost completely gone. The staff always makes me feel welcome and at ease. I had a long list of complaints and fears from past dentists. They listened to all of these at my first visit while getting me all set up. And since then they have made sure none of these complaints ever happened to me again. Serene colors and a comfortable setting make it feel less like a dental office. And the best feature? Getting to pick free add-ons to your appt, like headphones for TV, hand/arm/neck massage, and in some cases a smoothie. This place not only has completely changed my view of what a dental visit should be but has also made me feel 100% confident in taking care of my oral hygiene. I came in with a swollen gum and a sore tooth and was treated quickly, kindly, and with care to make sure I was comfortable throughout the exam and X-rays. Melissa and her staff were really nice and I felt that they went above and beyond making sure cleaning protocols were done with patients and themselves. My dental anxieties are beginning to ease! I just switched over to Dr. Leone's office (from an already top notch dentist I would recommend anyone too). My husband has been seeing Melissa for years, and talked me into switching over (much more convenient to where we live). My general anxiety is always off the charts because of PTSD. And dice dental offices are not known for being relaxing, I am always going to be skeptical. Parking was not as bad as downtown Seattle, but it was not the easiest either. The office is easy to find and access. The atmosphere is professional yet very calming, aesthetically. Everyone is nice and engaging, but not overbearing. I had the gentlest cleaning/exam of my life. Love this dentist! It's a nice quiet, small, friendly place where your dentist will always remember you by name. Personally I just come here for cleanings every 6 months, but my experience has always been great. The cleanings are always done very quickly, and staff is very prompt, communicative, and friendly. I highly recommend them! It's a great place to go to if you want somewhere that is more personal, small, cozy, and accommodating. During the pandemic they've also been great with precautions. They don't let a lot of people sit in the lobby, receptionist has an entire barrier blocking them from the rest of the lobby, hand sanitizer available, phone-sanitizing box, and everyone is wearing protective gear. read more

I hate going to the dentist and have been seeing one that is in my office building for years only for the convenience. After my first visit to Dr. Leone today, I'm done with my old dentist. Dr. Leone and her staff did a much better job with way less stress. Dr. Leone met with me briefly in her office first to go over my history and concerns. As dentists make me super nervous, I preferred that to hopping right into the chair. I tend to panic during cleanings but the dental hygienist, Amy, was super gentle and she did an amazing job at getting stains off my teeth during the cleaning. I can't stop looking at them in the mirror! They look so much better! Why did it take me so long to leave my old dentist?!! No one offered me a hand massage as other reviewers have mentioned (hopefully next time!) but I did enjoy the headphones and the option to watch tv or listen to music. And everyone here was super nice. No one shamed me for the condition of my teeth (they actually said nice things!) or made me feel like a bad patient for being excessively nervous. Those things always happened at my old dentist. I will never be happy about going to the dentist, but Dr. Leone and her staff made it completely manageable. I wanted to run around my office after my cleaning and tell my co-workers to go here rather than the place in our building! Really great! read more

This place is soothing, calming and relaxing - absolutely nothing you would ever associate a dentist with! It's more like a spa, leaving your pearly whites tingly and refreshed. They offer massages, headphones, sleeping masks so you can listen to music, tv, or relax while you get your teeth cleaned. Dr. Leone is thorough, quick, and gentle. When I arrived for my appointment I was put at ease instantly by the friendly, curtious and attractive employees. I was asked if I would like a cup of herbal tea before going to the computer room to fill out my current dental status. Besides impeccable taste in which the office was decorated I noticed everything was the epitome of feng-shui. As I was completing my history on the computer I over heard the staff say to a client if she would like a complimentary fruit smoothie because her mouth was numb and it was close to lunchtime. Wow! To my surprise I noticed Melissa Leone D.D.S. degree on the wall and she also attended the same dental school my father went to, Indiana State University of Density. She was young attractive and had a calming personality. She loved that I flossed three times a day. I replied, "Only floss the teeth you want to keep!" She laughed and led me into the most state-of-the-art examination room I have ever seen. Everything was digital and extremely comfortable. Even the x-rays were digital, no more hard paper to bite down on. She did a complete set of x-rays in only a few moments with instant results. As she cleaned my teeth her assistant who is also a masseuse massaged my hands and arms, completely distracting me from the painless cleaning. I thought it was ingenious to incorporate this method of treatment, which took the focus off your teeth. As my eyes rolled into the back of my head from the fabulous massage I was in heaven not wanting it to end. Before I knew it Melissa Leone D.D.S. was finished. She offered a discount on full payment and her services were quite reasonable especially considering all the perks. I can't wait to go back in six months. I have nothing but nice things to say about Dr Leone and her practice. It is completely counter-intuitive to my beliefs about past experiences with dentists. The office environment itself is calming and warm, with herbal tea and granola bars in the lobby. Dr Leone and her entire staff are very helpful and friendly. I had some issues with my past insurance company and they were very helpful in getting it resolved. I've had a normal cleaning as well as some work done on several occasions. I like the nice wireless headphones for watching the tele while they're working on you. There's a massage therapist who offers you arm and neck massages either before or during any serious work. And once you've finished, you are offered a delish smoothie to go if your mouth is numbed. If you refer anyone to them, you take your pick of thank you gifts, i.e. pedicure gift certificate. I have looked for a *good* dentist in Seattle for seven years. After having several attempted "hostile takeovers" of my mouth I had actually backed off of even finding a Dentist here and would rely on an old childhood friend (also a Dentist) to take care of me during my Christmas Vacation. For the first time in my life though, I started getting coffee stains on my teeth...eek! Yelp...God how I love Yelp...helped me to zero in on this Doc and am I ever glad I did! Let's face it, there are a lot of Dentists out there that will try to sell everything to you, or convince you that your mouth is going to fall out of your head if you don't replace the silver fillings with the white ones... Oh, you need sealants...oh, you need oral surgery (Google: Crown Lengthening if you feel brave). I've been lucky enough that I could just pick up the phone and call my childhood friend, but not everyone has that luxury. Most people take what their health practicioners say as the gospel and just go along.... And sometimes they get taken advantage of. I am happy to report that Dr. Leone is NOT like that. During my first visit and exam/cleaning I was able to get a sense as to how...liberal she is with treatment. I'm happy to say that she seems to lean towards being more conservative...which has a direct impact on my wallet. As far as the experience itself went - what more can you ask for than having a checklist at the front desk offering you laughing gas, hand/arm massage, music, tv, etc - all in an effort to keep you comfortable. I was delighted at the idea of a *free* hand/arm massage during my cleaning but was delighted at just how relaxing it made the ENTIRE experience. As soon as I felt myself tense up I could focus on the massage and instantly relax. I left out of her beautiful office feeling like I had been in a spa. Also - some Dentists have attempted to use the sonic scraper "thing" on my teeth before...but I couldn't take it! Dr. Leone was gentle as a kitten with her state-of-the-art instruments. Best. Dentist. Ever. I'm not the type to dread going to the dentist, but I've never been particularly upbeat about going in for some scraping/drilling/general teeth "stuff." Dr. Leone has changed that for me. The doctor and her staff are fantastic. I'd give them 6 stars if I could. It feels like you are in a spa type setting, everyone is friendly, calm, relaxed, no rushing. Most of the time you can't even tell Dr. Leone is actually doing a procedure. She's super gentle, quick, thorough and tells you what to expect ahead of time. She communicates well, is very honest, and takes patient feedback seriously. In terms of finances and insurance - I have never had such great help in determining my options, what my personal costs would be, how insurance coverage works for my set up, etc. There is no pressure to pay for extras, they give you options, and the information is top notch. I am thrilled to have found Dr. Leone and am delighted that I can place my trust in such a competent, responsive, friendly individual. read more

My husband and I had been going to this dentist for 3 or almost 4 years! we used to stay around Queen Anne but moved to the east side. We thought of changing dentist for convenience, however, decided not to because we feel that it will be difficult to find another dentist who is as dedicated and patient as Dr Leone I never really like going to the dentist until I met Dr Leone and her team! They made me feel very comfortable during each and every appointment - I find it super relaxing to watch TV with earphones while getting my teeth cleaned! I have low tolerance for pain and get really afraid when the dentist need to do some drilling and put fillings in my teeth. However, when Dr Leone and her team does the procedure, I can rest assure that there's no such thing as pain! I always walk out of the dentist feeling good as my run my tongue over my clean teeth! :D This is going to sound crazy but...we always look forward to our dental visits :) Thank you Dr Leone and her team! read more

Is it weird to say I LOVE going to the dentist? I've been seeing Dr. Leonne for over five years after a friend recommended her when I first moved to Belltown, and I've been a regular patient ever since (even making a long drive when I've moved a bit further away.) I can't rave enough about how great this office is -- everyone from the front desk staff to the hygenists to the recommendations Dr. Leonne give are gentle, nice, and considerate. Beyond your typical cleaning -- which comes with a numbing mouthrinse if you choose, so you aren't in pain for an hour and they can get a little deeper -- they also allow you to listen to music (just hop on their wifi if you want to stream your own via Spotify or whatever!) while you're getting your teeth cleaned, and you can also opt for a hand massage. I actually fell asleep once I was so relaxed! This office is definitely more "Zen" than your typical dentist, which makes coming in for a cleaning or even a more invasive procedure feel like going in for a massage. (Well, maybe like a physical therapy massage....) read more

I can't say enough great things about this place. I first found this place (4 years ago) as I used to live on the same street, but now I live in Redmond and my husband and I both commute 4 times a year to come here and we always will as long as they exist. The location is decent. Not the easiest to find parking but there is free street parking so can't complain. However come a few minutes early to find parking. The waiting room has a nice tv, great magazines, they offer tea, and yummy granola bars. The front desk check in always has a nice professional behind the desk. They ask you to fill out a paper with options for your treatment, options differ with each treatment type but they go a little like this: paraffin hand dip, head massage, hand and arm massage, laughing gas, numbing mouthwash, headphones for direct t.v, a smoothie at the end of appt. The office is clean, very modern and high tech. I watch tv the whole time I get a service and it's super comfortable since I'm also getting a hand massage at the same time. Dr. Leone is super friendly, beautiful- I mean you want a dentist with a great smile right? She doesn't just drill out all your cavities. She has had all my cavities on "watch" and only drills if necessary. I also do use the prescription (expensive) toothpaste, but also haven't had to fill any cavities for 4 years either. I had a tooth break completely once and they were able to get me in right away and made a temp crown immediately and tried to work around my needs even though it was Christmas time and hard to get appointments in. The hygienist is incredible. I have sensitive gums and she is so great with me and my little tiny mouth. She is so good about cleaning and keeping the polish right where it needs to be and not in my throat. So I don't even taste the paste when she works. So great! The whole staff is friendly and calm. No better place to go for your shinny whites! read more

I have been going here for years, and I finally feel like I have a dentist (and dental staff) who I feel comfortable. X-rays in your chair, immediately on the computer for the dentist to review, arm massages while cleanings, and over-all a relaxed professionalism that is evident in everyone who works here. I never feel chastised or like a bad child when I see Dr. Leone, she just gently reminds me how to brush and floss if I've got some buildup. read more

best. dentist. ever. Too bad i moved from Queen anne to bellevue and am switching; but the comparisons with the options could make me make the trip across the highway for a dentist appt after all! The trip to the dentist feels more closer to the trip to the spa - and the focus is around comfort and gentle feel-good atmosphere than a cash-hungry insurance chomper that i seem to notice in the eastside. Apart from the dentist who is gentle with her work and knowledgeable and quite detailed in her assessments; its the perks that make this office unbeatable. The mouth-numbing rinse - that again makes even the regular clean a non-issue, the hand-massage while you are there, the eye pillow, and headset with music/tv - makes for a complete trip to the dentist that is unbeatable. The technology is new, the support staff is nice, courteous and very upto date on technology, unlike a lot of the eastside places where faxing is the only way to communicate or printed file-stashes. When i actually called to say i am leaving the neighborhood and have to switch dentists, they offered to send me my xrays by email. 2 mins later it was right there in my mail accnt. I hate to be the one unfavorable review... but I thought I should provide another perspective. I went to Dr Leone's office actually a while back. I moved and was switching dentist. I guess I read the reviews and thought she would be a good choice. However, now I think back about the experience... it's been more then a year, i am still compelled enough to voice my negative feelings. I won't complain about Dr Leone's as a dentist, as the procedures were done fine, I wasn't put though unnecessary discomfort. I have had better and worse dentist before. Sure the supposedly SPA like treatment was nice, or the office/equipment was modern. I was intrigued then, but think about it again, I expect dental office to provide good dental service, and being informative on what was done and billed. I was looking for good dental treatment, not SPA, massage or any sort of vanity treatment.. Now, getting to the complain about her office. I called for an appointment and asked for my insurance coverage to be verified. I was told over the phone "...oh yes, it's all covered, and your first (preventative) visit would be totally free." However, after my visit, I was told, "oh... yeah, we thought you were totally covered, we do take XXX (my insurance company name) but... there were so many different type/options... you know how it is (no, i don't) ...yes you are covered in parts, but it's out of network, so you have to pay a percentage." Seriously, are you kidding me... how hard it is to verify these info? And just what did you check when you told me that I am totally covered? (And I should add, I had VERY Good insurance as an employee of probably the largest employer in Seattle) What's even worse was that they told me people choose out-of-network dentist "all the time", they have a lot of patient like that. (Somehow i question that. It probably because of their "not clear" about coverage, and for people who have no idea of how insurance work, they just go and pay the bill) So I got regular preventive service (check up, x-ray...etc), and some replacement fillings (She suggested that I need to get my old metal fillings "replaced" by new composite fillings. This is something that I've never heard before, nor after with my new dentist) The bill come out to be a couple hundred, AFTER insurance. I can't say what really happened... concerning dental insurance coverage, and billing, but it just feels like something's going on. I'd add, with an in network dentist, there is a negotiated reasonable charge for each different service, and insurance company will cover either all or a high percentage (80 or 90 for most basic service). However, with out-of-network, a dentist can charge whatever he or she wants, and insurance company covers the percentage the plan specifies, usually much lower (like 50%). read more

These folks are awesome!! I've been in a couple of times recently for some long over due dental work. I was recommended by a friend. I've had a total of three visits, one was a cleaning, two were for getting some cavities worked on. My cleaning was done by the dental assistants, and everyone was very friendly. I was concerned since I had a dentist recommend a deep cleaning a couple of years ago, and a friend mentioned that I should get a second opinion before just saying OK. I didn't follow up with it, and was nervous about my initial visit to Dr. Leone's office. After the initial inspection, it was determined that a deep cleaning wasn't necessary, and that, a standard cleaning would be fine. Dr. Leone's office performed the cleaning, all went well. When I came in to have my teeth worked on, I also had a great experience. I am not a fan of needles, and was surprised when I never even felt the anesthetic being applied. I never felt any pain from the drill, and I didn't feel the filling afterward. I've had them in the past where I could feel the filling like a little lump between my teeth, but that wasn't the case this time. They also supply you with headphones, and a TV to watch while you are having work done. At one point during the procedure, I actually fell asleep. I know this, because I halfway snored myself awake. I have never fallen asleep while a dentist was working on my teeth. Greatest thing in the world. I can't say enough nice things about this practice. Again, the people were nice, the work is great, no pain was felt, and as an added bonus, I literally got to take a nap. I will have to go back for one more procedure, and don't have any hesitations about doing so. read more

Extremely disappointed since they claim it is not standard to confirm coverage with my insurance provider beforehand. I was less than 3 weeks shy being due for my cleaning and they booked an appointment that was ineligible since it had not bee a full 6 months since my previous appointment. I now have a $225 bill that typically would have been $0 with my coverage. I get routine cleanings and have never had an office expect me to check benefits with my insurance. This was a huge bummer since I loved Dr. Leone and my hygienist and looked forward to establishing a long term relationship with them as my dental provider. read more

I was incredibly anxious about getting a filling, but they made the experience the best it could have been, going slowly, explaining each step, and seemed to focus most on my comfort level and anxiety in administering anesthesia. She is thoughtful, attentive and comforting when it comes to patient consultation as well as sitting in the dreaded chair. The chair is a whole new experience! Dr. Leone is great and spent a good amount of time with me every visit. I, like most, hate going to the dentist. It is nice to have a dentist you don't dread going to. Very patient and a straight shooter. As a CPA I am always a little critical of the offices that include extras like "hand massages" and what not, because I know that gets paid for somehow. That said, it is in a high end area that is used to a little pampering, so I overlooked it. I am glad I did. The only down side to the office is how far in advance they book appointments. I suspect that is to deal with emergencies, but you can wait for over a month sometimes so plan ahead. There is a reason this clinic is rated so high by so many sources. read more

Dr. Melissa Leone & her team are ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC! I have a very intense fear & anxiety of dentists ... to magnify the situation I am currently in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy. So, not only did I compulsively think about my own anxiety before the procedure -- well, (of course) I also worried about the safety of my new, little child. Dr. Melissa Leone went ABOVE, & BEYOND by providing excellent care & a remarkable bed-side manner that will soothe any discomfort. She even took the time to personally answer an email communication that I delivered a day before my appointment, while I was at home worried about whether or not I would be able to manage my anxiety during the appointment. The trust developed between a Dentist and a patient is (in my own opinion) one of the most delicate, & difficult to establish care relationships in the medical professions.
