Okay; I'm a wimp when it comes to going to the dentist. Dr. Rea was compassionate and her work is beautiful. She's my dentist now.

Dr. Rea has been the best dentist I've been to in the greater Saint Louis Area since I moved here in 2008!

Dr. Rea is the best! Knowledgeable and adept at putting me at ease - we could chat all day if there wasn't work to be done!

Paying for Pain…read more First, I received a crown despite having pain or complaints. After placement, I experienced severe pain for several days. Because Dr. Schmidt is only in the office one day per week, I saw another dentist twice for bite adjustments without relief and was told they could not proceed further since they did not place the crown. After waiting nearly another week, Dr. Schmidt determined a root canal was needed through the crown, requiring multiple appointments over several weeks. After recovery, I gave Dr. Schmidt a second chance months later for a filling. I was told it would not be near the nerve so I wouldn't experience anything like I did with the crown. After the procedure, I had ongoing pain and difficulty chewing. Adjustments did not resolve the issue, and I was told the filling was done right, but they could redo it. Across both treatments, I experienced significant pain that was not present beforehand, resulting in lack of sleep, inability to eat or drink normally, days of missed work, and multiple appointments. I declined further treatment and sought care elsewhere. I paid for the crown and root canal. Then received a bill for the filling without detailed explanation. I requested it be waived since it left me in pain / difficulty eating and I would need it redone but would not do so in this office after multiple bad experiences. The request was declined.

These folks didn't know me from anyone; no long standing patient relationship; no obligation to me at all. And yet, they treated me with care and consideration, getting me in as soon as possible to eliminate my severe pain. From the moment I called, I knew I'd called the right place. Heather's smile comes right through the phone at you. From the Front Desk ladies to the Dental Assistants and Hygenists on the team, this is the happiest dental office I've ever visited. Thank you Heather, Laura, Jessica and Mary Ann!! At Concord Dental, everyone smiles, looks you in the face, treats you with care. That puts you right at ease from the moment you walk in the door. Oh...and I only spent about 6 or 7 minutes in the waiting room - another FIRST for any dentist I've ever seen - so I didn't even have to wait long enough for my usual dentist-related anxiety to pop up on me. Now I don't know about you, but I do NOT like those shots and I was petrified, especially given the pain I had been in for the past couple of days during the holiday. I am, in fact, terrified of needles, but I barely felt Dr. Whitson's "stick" and I was numb in no time. (whew!) He fixed my pain, fixed my tooth (really well) and had me out the door in about 35 minutes. Dr. Whitson seems pretty precise to, because there wasn't a lot of "post-fill drilling" like most dentists. He just did it right from the beginning! Not only was Dr. Whitson attentive, gentle and careful, he proved to be very conservative in his treatment plan. He didn't go for the easy "gouge" but instead went for the best treatment for me in the moment. For which I'm very grateful - and astonished, as most dentists don't take that "high" road. To top it off, they offered me several ways to even SAVE money in my payment options with them - very patient centered thinking! (never had a dentist do that in the last 15 years!) If you're looking for a dentist in the Sunset Hills area (or nearby - believe me, they're WORTH THE DRIVE - then Concord Dental is Your Place too!! Concord Dental is THE PLACE FOR YOU If you want: * amazing client service by folks who treat you like their guest * an anxiety free dental environment * a relatively pain free dental experience * a conservative, yet "best steps" approach to your dental treatment plan * a very competitive fee structure * a dental team who thinks YOUR time is as valuable as theirs * money saving payment options Check them out and make your appointment today! http://www.concorddental.net/ (In case you're a skeptic, I'm not a friend, family member or even prior acquaintance of anyone at Concord Dental...and I'm not compensated in any way for this endorsement. But they certainly DO have a new regular patient in me!)

My first impression was speaking with Whitney who was friendly and patient with me. Upon arriving, the receptionists greeted me warmly and the office was clean and welcoming. (Parking is limited to a tiny lot or street parking, which I did not like, but there's not much they can do about that.) The technician who took me back for x-rays (Keya?) was INCREDIBLY nice to me which I really appreciated. I was very nervous and she was calm, gentle, and helped to make me feel more comfortable. I was so grateful for her. Then, the highlight of the entire visit: I met Dr. Margaree Lachowiez. I cannot recommend Dr. L enough. She made me feel incredibly safe in an environment that usually causes me a lot of anxiety. She is kind, knowledgeable, and charming. Beyond that, she really takes pride in her work and takes the time to do it right. After the dentist I'd seen all my life retired, I had a difficult time finding someone to replace him. I'm happy to say that now I have. Dr. Lachowiez will be my dentist from now on. Dental work is expensive, but they go over the entire breakdown of costs with you so there are no surprises. Everyone I met there was friendly and welcoming. I wish I could remember everyone's name, but I honestly have nothing negative to say about anyone there. The one mark against them: My husband had an appointment with Dr. L. and went in only to discover she is now at their other office, Ballwin Modern Dentistry (also a nice office). He said the dentist he saw instead was good, but was disappointed in the surprise switch up. Better communication in this matter would have been appreciated.
