Melissa Rinck and her office WERE amazing. However, Judy Chau has bought the practice and it is NOT the same. I was not informed the practice was sold until the new dentist came to do her evaluation. The office also failed to communicate that Dr Chau had dropped my insurance (Delta Dental) in advance. Upon checkout I learned that not only were they not taking my insurance, but they had increased their fees substantially. Very disappointing to go to a cleaning to the dentist I have been with for years expecting full coverage and end up with a bill higher than was ever paid by insurance to self-pay for a new dentist. Sadly, missing Dr. Rinck and how the staff treated patients under her leadership. read more

Dr. Rinck and her entire staff are a GODSEND! We came here yesterday with the little one to get a second opinion. We are so glad we did. Likely the best thing that ever happened in this crazy 2020 year of ours. Everyone at the office including Tina and Elizabeth was so friendly. I didn't get everyone's name but there was another lady who was very kind and spoke to us for a few minutes. It was like Dr. Rinck's staff had known us for years but we just literally met. We were treated so well. Please understand that the previous dentist never gave us this type of treatment; we were just a number and paycheck to them. We should have left them a long time ago. Back to Dr. Rinck...Dr. Rinck's office visit was out of this world! I'm just so happy we saw her yesterday. The care taken by Dr. Rinck and staff was immeasurable. They were patient and answered any questions you may have. They explained every step of the way. The honesty and professionalism shines here. Dr. Rinck went over the xrays provided and determined one tooth had to be addressed soon. She asked if we wanted to do it right there. We more than happily obliged. It wasn't a let's schedule this in a week or two weeks out. She was able to do it right on the spot! The little one was a real trooper. She got her tooth filled like a champ thanks to Dr. Rinck's and Elizabeth's patience. They informed her every step of the way in what they were going to do. That put the little one at ease. They really are great with kids! The little one did so well she earned a little toy to take home. That was a very nice touch from Dr. Rinck's office. There are no words to describe our experience at Dr. Rinck's. It was just truly wonderful. If you have ever had a traumatic dental experience and put off care or x-ray images, you must consider Dr. Melissa Rinck in San Rafael. Many years ago I had a horrible experience with images at another dental office. The bite plates were so large I was nauseated, gagging, almost passed out and all the while the hyegnist was yelling at me. I have refused images since that time. Yesterday I was seen in Dr. Rinck's office. Each and every one of her staff members is professional, friendly and patient. The office has top notch Covid Safety practices too. Angeles, one of the hygenists, was able to easily and speedily get images and it was just fine. They will also warm the rinsing water if you have very sensitive teeth. I've been going to Melissa Rinck since I was a child and, though we only talked for a few minutes this visit, as always her extreme attention to detail is visible throughout the experience and makes me feel SO SAFE. Also, it's so nice how much the whole staff focuses on community and welcoming, every one of you rocks! Always a joy to be here. I called about a cleaning -- I don't have dental insurance this year -- and was very happy DR Rinck had a very accessible price for me without insurance. I have a fourth wisdom tooth to pull, and I was also referred to an expert with an accessible price for that without insurance. They're taking high COVID precautions here. This has been by far the best experience in a dental office I've ever had. I had an abscess and was up all night in severe pain and needed a new dentist since I just moved here. From the first phone call the service has been exceptional, they handled my pain with compassion and such kindness. The entire staff was so helpful, attentive and happy. The Staff is friendly and very nice, that is the only reason for the one star rate. The other reviewers on this page must either be related to Dr. Rinck, the staff, or just robots. I wasted 5 years with this dentist... and after giving thousands of dollars to her, she charged me $150 for a 10 minute walk in, only to refer me to an endodontist for a root canal, which I told her I needed. She had my insurance company contacted before I even left the office. Anyone who gets within 50 ft. of this office will be charged big bucks. On one visit, after numbing my mouth, they completely forgot about me. I sat in the chair counting the birds landing on the back of Safeway for 2 hours. I had to interrupt them during lunch to let them know I was still alive and waiting. I'm sure I was charged for the second novocaine shot. Do yourself a favor and avoid this dentist. There are plenty of other dentists in the area, and even the same building to explore. read more

I'm terrified of the dentist but I really don't mind having to go to Dr. Rinck. She's very nice, patient and gentle. Everyone who works in the office is very nice as well. I highly recommend Dr. Rinck. One reason for not giving 5 stars: They take forever! I've had to have many cavities filled and the appointment takes at the least one hour longer than it was scheduled for. (It's better if you're just having your teeth cleaned.) But I keep going back because I know she's doing a good job and I trust her. Just budget at least an extra hour for appointments. read more

I've been Dr. Rinck's patient for the 17+ years since she opened her practice.and wouldn't consider any other. The work she has done is excellent, as is her technique. I mention this because she keeps current and qualified to all phases of modern dentistry and uses the best quality state-of-the-art materials, instrumentation and application. ie: NB: Every piece of work that she has done over the years is STILL IN PLACE. right where she put it. Solid,straight and strong. We have NEVER had to re-do any work. She priortizes, plans and anticipates all my dental needs keeping in mind my budget ,gently,patiently scolding me into appropriate hygene so that my gums are no longer the mush that they were when we met. The result is that I still have all my teeth and choppers and can gnash my way through a Volkswagon if I want to. By way of qualification of my observances: due to the the fact that I have the soft teeth of an Irish-Catholic potato eater and had the proclivity of getting as many of them knocked out on every playing field in the city as I could, I have spent more time in dentist chairs than I did in my seats at Candlestck, Kezar and Seals stadium combined. And have more bridges in my mouth than San Francisco Bay. So, From old Dr. Danieri," the "cement mixer" 'til Dr. Rinck I've sat in a whole lot of dentist chairs and hold a Batchelor's degree in bad teeth and worse dentists. Dr. Rinck is a fantastic dentist and everyone on her staff is great. I've seen her for cleanings, a filling replacement and for a dental emergency. Her work has been perfect every time - extremely clean, professional and as painless as possible. They put a lot of focus on patient comfort there, from headphones which mitigate the noise, to blankets if you get too cold. I also like the fact that her staff is very "plugged in" - she has a highly effective, patient-friendly business model in place. Dr Rinck and her crew really are amazing - when I walk in I feel as though I am in a happy place and certainly not a dentist's office. It really is extraordinary. She is the third dentist my family has had in about eight years (I left the other two because I always felt as though I was being upsold with dental services I did not need and that we were just units in an assembly line of ever changing dental hygenists). Dr Rincks office is very professional and yet personable. They take a great deal of care with every procedure, they are gentle and they are great at educating us on how to improve our dental hygene.
