Their breakfast sandwich is fresh and delicious and they also have a tons of island food goods. They are known for their coffee and they also sells the coffee beans there. They do have sitting both inside and outdoor and if you have a dog, you could sit with your dog in their patio. They also have a small goat farm there that you can go see. The goats are cute and nice. We will definitely come back when visiting the island again.

This is the second time we stopped here for breakfast on our way from Victoria Island to Vancouver…read more We ordered breakfast then picked up some bakery items for the ferry ride and trip to Vancouver. It's a cute little restaurant/bakery/store before catching the ferry to or from Vancouver. The smashed baked potatoes are crispy and nicely seasoned. They had gf bread to accompany my eggs and bacon. At the bakery we purchased a couple gf cookies and a couple of regular ones. The lemon gf cookie was delicious ~ soft and lemony.

At least you can pick which wines you want to try. Wine bottles are $16.00 to $30.00. - Tasting ($5.00) - big red rooster, petillant naturel, highland bramble and sweet ginger. Best of the four was the pet-nat. Ginger port was decent. Did not like the big red rooster or the highland bramble (unrefined, rough, needed to be airated). Seems the older folk come here for the bistro's sandwiches. Wouldn't go out of the way to visit.

Great find in the cute little burg of Sidney. Fairly extensive selection of handmade pastries,…read morecookies and savory sandwiches. They even sell dog biscuits that are baked in-house. Everything looked tempting so we purchased a lot: a fig tapenade Brie sandwich (wonderful flavours, a little heavy on the bread and light on the cheese); a mango danish (delicate, crisp pastry strewn with baked mango chunks); a vegetarian pizza (cheesy and flavourful); and my favourite, an oatmeal fudge bar (like the one Starbucks used to sell, but with higher-quality ingredients and most importantly, more chocolate!). We also got a salad as a nod to nutrition, which was fresh, contained a surprising amount of bocconcini and came with a tasty vinaigrette - a little overpriced for the portion tho. Service was friendly and prompt. No seating inside, but there are a few benches outside where one can enjoy the treats if the weather's fine--and it was. 4.5

The Fickle Fig Express is a cute little bakery serving up some fabulous pastries, along with friendly service with a smile. Located on the central high street core of Sidney, make this bakery one not to miss. I was lucky they had anything left, getting here at 3pm. Cause you know how it is when it comes to bakeries - the early bird gets the worm. The Cinnamon Bun was very good & the Chocolate Almond Brownie - sensational.

The wait for our food was much longer than expected, and…read morewhen we asked to share a plate, we were told we couldn't unless we purchased an extra side, which seemed like an odd policy--especially considering how large the portions already are. The seafood chowder was also disappointing two people in our group had it, It had a strange flavor and wasn't something we enjoyed. Unfortunately, the fish and chips didn't make up for it. The batter was very greasy, and one piece of fish on each of our plates was mushy instead of flaky and fresh. There were four of us that got it. The coleslaw had no flavor as well. The tarter sauce was really good. Overall, the long wait, the unusual plate-sharing policy, the odd-tasting chowder, and the poor quality of the fish made for an underwhelming experience. We were expecting much better.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE I love supporting local and the…read moreservice has always been great here...but the breakfast options keep disappointing - so the value isn't really there, especially with Tim Hortons literally across the hall. === 2. FOOD Breakfast Sandwich with Meat ($10.50) Tried it twice now (see pictures) and both times were disappointing: - Croissant with scrambled eggs and pepperoni (?) was OK, but the meat was a little unusual taste-wise, and the croissant was neither fresh (French-style, crispy outside) nor Costco-style (soft). - English muffin (?) with a fried egg and pepperoni (?) was regrettable unfortunately. There was an interesting spice/sauce this time which made the egg less appealing, the meat was different, and the bun/muffin was so hard I had to throw it out after the first bite. It's other day-old baked goods perhaps, reheated, or perhaps there needs to be a change in how the items are heated? I'm sure it could be improved somehow... Cinnamon Bun ($4.95) Perhaps the best thing I've tried it's alright and I like the addition of the blueberries; it just comes at airport pricing. === 3. SERVICE It's always been polite, professional, and fast. So I want to support them with more purchases, but the food offerings are lacking... === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's a food court-style counter, so you walk up, order, and go - the good news is that the limited communal seating is just behind this counter. Wheelchairs and baby strollers fit just fine. Not sure you'd drive here for the food, but if you did, the airport parking lot os spacious.

They had put up a high chair and wet floor sign, threw some napkins on the floor, and then ignored it for the full 30 - 45 minutes I was in the restaurant. Finally, I complained when leaving. A lady behind the counter said someone was going to do it right away. I could see it if they were busy but it wasn't. There was no more than 10-15 customers in the time I was there. Obviously a case of Tim's using the renovation to get rid of their experienced staff and replace them with inexperienced people who didn't want to be there. They lost a customer at that store.
