We opted for the 6 course meal which was $115 pp and since I don't eat lamb, they were kind enough to switch it out and gave us a delicious fish option instead. We also upgraded to the wagyu rump 8+ and it was the highlight of the meal (we also tried the manti and I personally was not a fan). They also gave us two bags of their bread mix on our way out which was definitely interesting - we had to give these away since we were here visiting. Items I really enjoyed: Wagyu rump 8+ Hummus Dessert (beautiful presentation) Items I'd probably pass on if I had a choice: Wagyu beef manti (trust me, I recommend you supplement to the wagyu rump!) Smoke ocean trout - I don't know if it was just me but it kind of smelled like ammonia and I was not a fan.

First the seducing aroma of freshly made felafel and zesty hummus hits your senses. The menu covers wraps, salads, taste boards, Lebanese breakfasts and grilled meats - most things come accented with fresh herbs, lemon, garlic, spices and pomegranate. If you've never tried tahini, you must! It's a zesty savoury sesame seed sauce that tastes like a muted down peanut butter with a lemon kick (I use it on everything from avocado and eggs on toast to ice cream) The service was sensational - our waitress enthusiastically talked us through the menu and excitedly dropped off dishes as they were ready. The chefs were chatting to people at the food pass, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like coconut sugar, salt and olive oil on tables. Standout dishes were the fig and walnut hummus, smoky baba ganoush, felafel with homemade tahini and crispy potato bravas with garlic oil and chilli. Basically - over order to avoid food regrets! I was impressed that gluten free bread offered as an alternative to the pita wrap, and most of the menu is allergy friendly. The drinks menu is extensive and I'll save you a sonnet about the refreshing Lebanese iced tea with pomegranate, mint and ...pine nuts! Try it to believe it. Then tell your friends. And the best part? I left (okay, I may have squealed) grinning with a jar of impossible-to-find authentic Lebanese tahini from the providore pantry shop to recreate tahini dreams at home.

Quite rightly; he's spotted a gal that thinks meat, chips and slaw is an unmissable combo. Skewerd would fall into the category of awesome and fresh 'fast food', or super casual (but awesome) dining options. This Greek eatery is easily one of the best on Bay St for a quick meal or take out. I was going to ask for a Souvlaki...but priced at $9 I wondered if perhaps it might be too small for dinner. Not wanting to come back in the cold, I got the 'Yeeros Plate for One' ($17). Holy mother of meat. The photo doesn't do justice to the mountain of chicken, slaw, pita bread and chips I encountered. I over ate. I ate until I couldn't eat any more - then put the left overs in the fridge. My partner came home late and made not one but two souvlakis out of my left overs with some extra pita breads we just happened to have in the fridge. He said he wished he had only eaten one and saved the other for lunch. So the plate for one could effectively be a meal for 3 without a lot of effort! The food itself is very tasty. The cabbage salad wasn't great, but worked ok with the dish as a whole. They have beer and wine as a dine-in option, so the restaurant portion was packed full of families settling in for a meal. Meat + chips = crowd pleaser.

From the pictures, it does look like this is a canoe pizza creation. But fear not, it's all an optical illusion that anyone can tackle. No tomato sauce, no cheese, no traditional shape? Must be inauthentic. Which is exactly what Moor's Head call their boat shaped pizzas. I was trying to have a meat-free weekend, so from the "inauthentic" pizza side of the menu, I was in between the Istanbuli, the Shams of Tabriz and the Omar Sharif which all caught my eye. I ruled out Omar, he had three cheeses going on that I wasn't ready to commit to. With the hint that the Istanbuli was their most popular, I went with the masses. Oh my was it good. It's a refreshing change from what you thought you knew about pizza. On pide (Turkish bread) there was pumpkin, spinach, caramelised onion, tahini yoghurt, dukkah and parsley. Altogether it was yum, filled with taste. Because the two of us shared one pide, or inauthentic pizza, we wanted to try something on the sweeter side. The Jamil came to us in it's cute triangle shape. It was stuffed with ricotta and honey with walnuts to add some crunch and a helping of nougat ice cream right on top that melts it's way into the dessert as you eat it. I left with a light-no regrets feeling, already contemplating my next visit.

I prepared a collection of must-try stops during the month of my visit, and from my research, Daughter in Law made the list. It also happens to be around the corner from my hotel so it ended up being the first restaurant I tried after arriving at the hotel and getting settled. I wanted something comforting and guaranteed to be a delightful food experience and Indian food never disappoints for me and my cravings. Daughter in Law went above and beyond all expectations of the every day delicious Indian restaurant. You'll know it from first glance as you approach the restaurant and see the colorful tables and neon sign. Everything about the ambience took me back to our Mama Speaks hotel in Rome...my absolute favorite for the fantastic indulgent, maximalist, colorful decor. Everything about the space says party with a sophisticated twist. The second time we went here, there was a birthday happening for a grandma with her large family there. This place is a gem. All I can say is hopefully I get to have a birthday here someday. It was a party and we were all smiles. We ordered the Hiramasa Kingfish Ceviche You won't regret this choice It was heaven in a clamshell. I could have eaten several of these as a meal. It was a fresh as fresh gets scallop ceviche with the perfect Indian spin of flavors. I don't know how I didn't get a picture of it except to say most likely because we ate it too fast for pictures. We followed this with the Ball of Happiness (Gol Gappa). A crisp hollowed out orb served with a layered shot of the classic mint, tamarind, and chutney flavor sauces that are meant to be poured into the orb and popped into your mouth for a flavor explosion. It was fun and delicious but I personally would have gone for another scallop en croute in place of this. Though it's worth a go! For drinks, I ordered a Passionfruit Spritz. I was worried it may be too sweet but it turned out to be just right and very refreshing. The little mermaid was a fun touch and my daughter wanted to take her home. The Mango Lassi was perfect, authentic, and not too sweet. There was only 2 of us, so as much as I wanted to try the Rogan Josh, we shared the Chicken Tikka Masala instead. It was delicious phenomenal. So rich and flavorful, with a brightness and tang to it that made it hard to stop eating. Incredible flavor! The garlic naan was of course, woodfired crisp and perfectly soft where it should be when pulled apart.
