Ive obviously had a Halal Snack Pack before, but not this. And I was very intrigued. Luckily the long journey was worth it. The Italian Snack Pack was very nice. It was good enough for me. A solid 4 stars. As you can imagine the cheesy top was the best part about it, and it helped out the entire meal throughout. A good and unique idea. I was meaning to get around to doing this for a long time, and they met my high expectations. Wasnt fantastic, but it was very good food and overall had a nice experience at Enzos. Got a lemonade to go with it and picked up an rainbow ice cream tub for when I got home, for dessert.

Pizza was a house special type of thing, called an Enzo. Was unbelievably good, possibly one of the better Pizzas I've ever had. Coffee was even better. The small-ish dining area is very retro-kitsch with a 50s diner sort of feel, and well laid out. Place was hyper busy but staff seemed to be very chill and in control. I noticed a few regulars coming in, and having a bit of a chat, which is usually a very good sign. Good service, good product, nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back to have a Pizza and a coffee if I'm in the area.

Uyghur food in Melbourne? Wait, what's an Uyghur? How do you even pronounce that? Apparently it…read moresounds like "wEEger." The Uyghur's are a Turkic ethnic group that live mainly in Eastern China....so Uyghur food is an unusual combination of Turkish-Chinese food. And it happens that there is a small group of Uyghurs living in Melbourne and this is their go to restaurant! Dolan Uyghur Food Heaven is a total hole in the wall. I mean a total hole in the wall, it is not shiny and new, it is not even that clean. It's the sort of place you walk by dozens of time without giving the slightest thought of walking in. Luckily a co-worker of mine had been before and insisted we give it a go during my last trip down to Melbourne. But, wow, what a cool find. Huge portions of food at very reasonable prices. Be warned though...when they say something is spicy, it is spicy! Damn was some of those dishes packed on the heat! The standout dishes were some of the homemade noodle options (see pics), though we also had some braised meat dishes that were served on giant pancakes (hard to explain, the closest thing I've had before was Ethiopian cuisine) that were quite tasty. There you have it...looking for an undiscovered divey gem in Melbourne? Love spicy food? Then head to Dolan Uyghur Food Heaven and you will indeed be in Uyghur Heaven.

The food is great. The price is great. The venue... not as great…read more Food: Loved the Aqqik Korma Lagmeni (dry stir fried handmade noodles with chilli and lamb), Samask Tamilk Tarhamak (cucumber salad with garlic sauce) and Poshkal Koy Gish Kormisi (stir fried eggbread with finely cut lamb or beef and mixed vegetables). Price: $78 for 5 people! We had lots of food and one round of (soft) drinks. Ridiculously cheap. Venue: Tiny, cramped, loud, floodlit, classroom style seating and decor. I'll definitely go back for the food.

Malaysian food can be so interesting and extremely tasty. Maybe it's because I live in Melbourne…read moreand am spoilt for choice when it comes to delicious Malasian food but I find the offerings at this restaurant extremely limited. Friends that have eaten the laksa say they think the spice is a little too overpowering for the dish (and they love spice). Personally though only having one dish available for vegetarians (and nothing for vegans) in Melbourne seems a little bit of a oversight. There are so many great veggie dishes coming out of that melting pot of cultures and culinary history that it seems a deliberate choice to restrict the options to one plate of expensive dumplings. They are soft, well stuffed but lacking in any great flavour. It's a order at the counter type deal here and food is brought out to your table. We had to find a bottle of water and two disposable plastic cups to drink it though. Maybe for the price people will deal with this but I think you can find cheaper and far more tasty options only a few doors down. Hopefully they will improve on their service and menu in the near future.

The chicken rice lack taste though and the soup served with it is usually just plain. They recently changed their Fish head laksa. Now they're using Salmon head for the laksa, and it works well. However, menu is limited. It'll be hard for them to compete with other restaurants around them for example, Rose garden , Laksa House and Sarawak Kitchen. It is also a shame they don't do combo deals that let us have a choice of a drink with the food we're going to have. It'll definitely stand out among their competitors. Plus, their place is smaller compare to other restaurants. However, I don't mind at all. Nonetheless, will still come back for their food. One of my good to places for a quick Roasted Chicken rice.

Anyway, I do have a thing for burger joints, and this certainly has some charm about it, though as it turned out it was a but sterile. The prices weren't too back, neither were the burgers, but it really didn't jump out at me as some of the other places that I have been too. Still, it is better that some of the fast food joints, but that isn't hard to do.

Finally the Coburg end of Sydney Road is getting a bit of love!…read more The burgers at Royal Stacks are good. American style with a soft bun and plenty of drippy sauce. Think: In and Out meets Shake Shack. There's over the top versions with truffle mayo and mac n' cheese croquettes, but I prefer to keep it simple with a single stack burger and the addition of jalapeños. What sets Royal Stacks apart from other local burger options is the service and the environment which lends itself well to family and friend groups eating together. Large table configurations as well as smaller ones for couples. A staff member welcomes you and helps you find a table and another will pop past during the meal to ask how everything is going. It's a small extra that's totally unexpected in what is otherwise a fast food-esque experience (order and pay at the counter, collect your tray when ready) but it does make everything just that little bit nicer especially when there's kidlets in your group.
