Prior to takeoff, he detailed what he was checking & why, I felt my father was in good hands w him when they jumped into a the Diamond Eclipse plane.The training is 45 minutes, they have comfortable leather chairs, dvd player,kitchen & other amenities (blazing Wifi) if your waiting for flight to land. I have to say that this is without a doubt the best organization I have ever flown with. The equipment (airplanes) are top notch and in great shape. The Bristell Light Sport Aircraft flown by this place are far superior to anything I have flown in the past. I have, over the years, had some really bad experiences with flight schools, just check my previous reviews. These instructors are exceptional (in a good way). They are very professional and thorough. I have been very impressed Their rates are very fair, which is great for students just starting out. They have put together some great programs and although flying professionally is not my thing, the the people wanting to become a commercial pilot, this would be the way I would go. I will be flying with them a lot over the next few months and see if I can go all the way through both my instrument and CFI ratings. If you want to learn to fly, this is the place to do it!

I was able to easily maintain my college courses at Riddle while flying with Epic, so flexibility is possible. From dispatch and maintenance staff to Instructors and Team Leaders, every Epic employee exceeded my expectations in terms of a family friendly learning environment. The C-172S aircraft were all in excellent condition, equipped with G1000. The Epic ramp area is well maintained along with KEVB in its entirety, and you simply can't beat its beautiful location in terms of its Class D airspace. However, as a student veteran, I would have liked to see Epic Flight Academy accept VA benefits to allow student veterans to gain assistance in finishing the remaining flight ratings at Epic, but they do not at the moment. Overall, I would highly recommend Epic Flight Academy for obtaining your Private Pilot Certificate, or any other certificate or rating you wish to pursue.

Five years ago I started a journey towards becoming a pilot. That journey began at First Landings…read moreand I could not be more thankful. The school is run by a team of professionals that take your flight training as far as you want to go with a pace that matches your lifestyle. The rates for training beat out the competitors while delivering a product that is more personal and productive. The training area is right next to First Landing's home airport (X04) and this is a huge advantage. While training you do not have to waste money and time getting to where you need to practice. The airport is also between several other airports making it an ideal training environment. I pursued my Instrument, Commercial, Flight Instructor, Instrument Flight Instructor, and sport plane Instructor licenses from First Landings. While doing so I was able to compare my experiences with students at other schools. What I found was that not only did I save money, but my training was more productive. Skyborne is riddled with culture problems from poor leadership, unscrupulous…read moreaccounting, contracts with 90 day return clauses, $26 hr fuel surcharges, mandatory brief times at $62 hour, and a disorganized flight line that has students sitting around waiting weeks for flights and check rides. Took me 8 months to get my PPL and $40k, finally leaving May 2023. Both long time employees and students were leaving and the Delta Propel program only exacerbated the problems there. Every student was complaining and felt trapped in contracts tied to loans that Skyborne controlled and allocated funds for inaccurately. I boldly called out leadership for their lack of care for students and was met with belligerence and disregard. The maintenance and housekeeping crew were kind, hard working, the planes were well kept and fueled but sadly, the negative culture there is killing this once legendary organization when owned by Flight Safety Academy. Do not trust what you see on fancy websites and social media. Dig into the contract, read the fine print and speak to students living there on campus. Most importantly... have a Plan B, you're going to need it to make your dream of being a pilot come true. Good luck Aviator... I'll see ya in the skies.
