High-quality flight school all around! I started my Private Pilot Certificate at Embry-Riddle but…read moreeventually switched to Epic Flight Academy to finish after hearing such positive remarks from different friends and pilots. I was able to easily maintain my college courses at Riddle while flying with Epic, so flexibility is possible. From dispatch and maintenance staff to Instructors and Team Leaders, every Epic employee exceeded my expectations in terms of a family friendly learning environment. The C-172S aircraft were all in excellent condition, equipped with G1000. The Epic ramp area is well maintained along with KEVB in its entirety, and you simply can't beat its beautiful location in terms of its Class D airspace. However, as a student veteran, I would have liked to see Epic Flight Academy accept VA benefits to allow student veterans to gain assistance in finishing the remaining flight ratings at Epic, but they do not at the moment. Overall, I would highly recommend Epic Flight Academy for obtaining your Private Pilot Certificate, or any other certificate or rating you wish to pursue.

If you plan on attending the aircraft maintenance school, DONT. This place should be renamed "Scam…read moreFlight Academy" because the quality of education is trash. Some of the instructors dont know whats going on and the others are just mindlessly droning on through powerpoint slide shows. I didnt want to pay 47,000$ to be bored to death, I paid for a quality education and quality instructors, which is what was advertised. ive been here for 5 months and all ive learned is that a place like this rips away your motivation to get into the aviation industry. Dont get me started on the housing department either. The same people that own epic own the apartments they use for student housing, one half is non students and the other half are students. The non students (for a two bedroom apartment NOT beachside and NOT in a good spot) pay 1600$ a month, so why is it that the students pay 3200$ a month for the exact same apartment split 4 ways. They cram 4 people in a 2 bedroom apartment and charge the students double. It doesn't take a genius to notice that this is a cash grab/scam. Fuck this place and fuck getting scammed. All the good reviews are for the flight school, for the pilots, anyone can fly a plane but how many people can fix them? Take care of your students and stop scamming them.

Avoid like the Plague. Christos is a smooth talking experienced (but not safe or good) pilot. He…read morepreys on inexperienced students and fleeces them for their cash without any results (unless you are ok with bribing a check pilot, I wouldn't recommend it though because though this is common practice for Christos he will get caught one day and you don't want to go down with him). The airplanes are poorly maintained to the point of being dangerous, he does illegal repairs himself and when not has an immoral A & P mechanic make extremely superficial changes which then don't go into the maintenance logs. But even if you bribe your way through to a commercial pilots license (god forbid you learn how to instruct from the worst flight instructor on the face of this planet) you will still be a commercial pilot in name only as you will not have the skills required in a real flying environment. This is my main criticism, leave aside the corruption, lack of knowledge, dangerous planes and overconfident, scary to fly with instructor (would never hire him as a pilot for my charter co. ) it is extremely unsafe to go through his program, learn nothing except bad practices , end up spending far more than real flight school (Like ATP , though I don't personally like them one cannot argue their commitment to professionalism and safety --basically the opposite of "Ultimate Air Academy) and have the same over confident, reckless yet incompetent attitude and ability which Christos has. You will spend many years and even more money learning how to be a real pilot and then , like me reflect on how much time, energy and money you could have saved if you went to a real school. There are many small flight schools out there which are good but Ultimate air is not only a joke, it's a criminal enterprise and the best possible outcome for this school is Christos losing all of his flight priveleges, facing criminal charges and ofcourse the school being shut down (your $ down the toilet). Or even worse and I truly hope I'm wrong here, he'll get someone killed either due to his reckless flying (he likes to pretend his beechcraft is an f-16, so tries to go vertical and into sharp turns right after takeoff which is just dumb) or his absolutely horrid maintenance practices. Thing is he may actually read this, possibly understand that the FAA is closing in on him but he's too arrogant or psychotic (maybe sociopathic or borderline, not sure what his particular mental illness is but it's severe) to make any substantial changes. Perhaps he will atleast backdate his airplane maintenance logs but that would be impossible unless he gets an A&P to corroborate fake repairs and inspections (he has an A&P mechanic in his pocket but he won't even go as far as making up fake maintenance logs, I hope) . Even if he does neither of them nor the check pilot will stand up to scrutiny, he only exists because of the drastic decrease in the FAA's budget, complaints have been filed but not followed up on. The other shoe will drop --don't be anywhere near this school when that happens . EVEN IF HE TELLS YOU TO DO SOMETHING YOU WILL STILL BE HELD LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE AS IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO DEFENSE. Tread carefully and don't walk away from this school -- run

I would not have finished my pilot training unless I had found that place. God bless ultimate air…read moreacademy

Good luck getting the airplane scheduled when there's many other general aviation pilots wanting to use the aircraft for themselves. 5) Very little transparency or discussion of what's going on with your program. "The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing." If it weren't for #1, I'd be disputing my bill with the credit card company and local police. Be warned.

I was there every day and the after a week the instructor and the owner of the company left to CA. He told us that he would be back in two weeks and didn't come back for 3 months. Also the training was suppose to be 10 hrs of 172 and 5 hours of arrow, that changed after a while. That guy is a crook and he just care about making money. Doesn't care about customers at all. I didn't receive any ground training. The only service that I received was the flight hours and that was worth 1500 dollars. Rest of the money he just eat it up. He will tell you that he charges set fee and that includes unlined ground. But you won't receive any ground training. I was the only one. I had two other guys that were with me and he ripped us all off. Please go some where else. Captain Malik is a very dishonest person.

One of the worst looking airports and poorly run "business" in aviation. The owner has asked his…read moreline staff to block transient aircraft with the line van so they have to come in to pay a fee. He has also been known to dump sump fuel on inside the Jet-A fuel farm where it basically leaks onto the lawn outside he barely fenced perimeter. The EPA needs to look at this airport heavily as well as Shell Aviation because the fuel farms, fuel trucks, and overall procedure for fueling is very sub-par. The owner micromanages heavily, causing a high turnover rate, curses in front of students/faculty and customers, poor maintenance is done on aircraft and the overall conditions of the airport are extremely poor. Stay away from this awful place. The students are being ripped off price wise and I've personally seen a Cessna 150 taxi missing several bolts on its empennage after being "ok'd" by the owner and A&P's. Death trap company. Stay far away. They should be shut down.
