I have shopped for years at Francesca stores in multiple store locations but I took my young nieces…read moreto shop in La Jolla and we stopped in and put a large order together but the computer was down at checkout. The initial employee was very apologetic and we were in no hurry but she insisted on holding our items and would not let me leave any form of payment but promised to call when the computers were working. We even went to lunch and came back because it was a graduation shopping trip for the girls and they really liked their items. No one ever called and when I phoned back less than 48 hours later I was told someone had called about all the orders on hold and if you didn't show up immediately your items were put back on the shelf. I double checked my phone and there were no missed calls or messages. It's sad that no one can use a calculator and take cash for sales when this happens and that a company doesn't care about the sale of merchandise. This was one of my favorite stores for 20+ years but I will never go back to any location because the manager in La Jolla was so rude when I called and did not care about making this sale or that it was a missed opportunity.

This should have been my first warning. I tried on a shirt and it has a small blood stain. Yuck! So I tried on the same shirt (she had 2) and noticed it had no designer label on the back of the collar, and no tag inside for washing instructions, and had a stain. I said to her, "This shirt has been worn". She said, that is the way it came from the company. No way! Have you ever walked into a store (unless it was a second hand store) and seen new clothes without the washing instructions on the inside seam or the designer/manufacturing label missing from the back neckline? So I didn't buy it. I bought a few things and a cute dress and traveled back to home. This week and I went to wear the dress to dinner. Guess what - there's a food stain on the front of the dress. Looks like someone wore it, spilt a piece of food on their lap, and returned it. Since the tags are pinned to the label, it's easy to remove and reattach. She refuses to take it back. She said, "I would just dry clean it." So rude. It's disgusting that she is selling used clothing as new and refuses to take back a dress that is basically second hand. It's been worn. Someone is wearing the clothes and she is putting them back on the rack as new. Then I price checked her clothes against the manufacturers site, and she has marked them up over the MSRP. Buyer beware in this shop.
