MEKS was recommended to me by a good friend who stated these folks would treat you right and do good work. I visited MEKS on three or four occasions to get my tiller back up to speed, mainly purchasing fuel lines, etc. Good service and provided me with all correct parts. Then my Troy built 4cycle trimmer pull rope broke. I decided to have the professionals to make the repairs. Have to know your limitations. Dropped it off and was told Troy Built is a pain to replace the pull rope because it is located at the shaft end and not on the end. Good to know, thats why I brought it to MEKS. Picked it up and placed it in my shop. Decided to use it this week and discovered it vibrating awful and the spool barely moving. A lot of vibration, not good. Took it back, MEKS said because I elected not have them start it when rope was replaced they could not help me. They said replacing the rope had nothing to do with the awful vibration and the spool not turning. Acted as if I was trying to get something for nothing. I told them it was in perfect working order when I brought it in for the pull rope repair, now it does not work, period.
Pretty much blew me off and said because I did not elect to have them actually pull the rope to see if it would start was now my problem. Her attitude was insulting and I pretty much just left telling them I expected to be treated just like this. I am an honest person and treat people with respect and fairness. So,,,my advice is this....should THEY ASK YOU IF YOU WANT THEM TO PULL THE ROPE TO SEE IF IT STARTS,....SAY YES..Her attitude was not their problem,,they replaced the rope as instructed and did not pull to see if the trimmer worked was now my problem. Hard to find good honest people. I was not attempting to get something for nothing...trimmer worked great until they got it. Now I have a trimmer with a good pull rope........with excessive vibrating and trimmers barely moving....will look elsewhere. Be careful, tell them, they will charge you. to actually pull the rope to see if it works....Lesson learned. read more
