Most of the store has undergone updates in the past few years where a lot of the conditional defects were addressed. The store is bright, open and well laid out for a large location. They have the standard specialty counters including pharmacy, bakery, meats, seafood, etc...Unlike majority of Kroger locations around the area, there is no branded coffee shop or other outlet. Exterior, they have freshened up the facade, but the majority of the exterior, including the parking lot and vestibule are still in rough and worn shape. The store was clean of debris and trash, however there were several u-boats of stock and boxes left around the store that were not actively being stocked. It created a slight inconvenience in some aisles, especially when multiple folks were present. Service was friendly and quick at the registers. Between the cashier and bag attendant, they were chatty and welcoming. I found everything I was after and had no issues with the variety of product from fresh produce to meats to frozen goods. Additionally, this Kroger offers a fuel station, and you know I got me some fuel points to use! Overall, solid 3.5 stars for this Kroger location. Not my home Kroger, and I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here, but when in Antioch, I don't mind swinging by.

A customer had approximately 45+ items in the clearly marked "10 items or less" express lane. When I politely pointed this out, Michele did not attempt to resolve the situation or enforce store policy. Instead, she repeatedly dismissed me with "that's enough" and "it's okay," spoke about me to others while I was standing there, and when I asked her to repeat the comment she replied, "I wasn't talking to you." Rather than de-escalating, Michele's tone and behavior escalated the situation and created a hostile, uncomfortable experience. This is not the level of professionalism or customer service expected from someone in a leadership position. Very disappointing interaction. I have also contacted corporate regarding this incident and am waiting for follow-up.

It worked! ;) Most of the employees here ARE trying pretty hard. I saw a teenage guy faint behind the counter. But the store isn't managed well, and some of the customers are beyond shady. It's basically the sixth circle of hell, because their are always long lines, as they refuse to staff the clerk checkouts properly. The employees also didn't seem very professional and couldn't help us very effectively when we needed aid in checking out. It took three employees to do so and they were yelling at each other and saying some odd things as if we weren't standing right there. It felt semi-awkward because of this. There were also random trash bags on some glass doors throughout the store that I've never seen at any other Kroger that felt out-of-place. We got our items and everything worked out in the end so, if this location is your only option, it'll be fine. However, it probably wouldn't be my first choice in the future.
