After looking at the Mejuri website extensively for about a week, and saving all the items I wanted to look at in my phone, I was excited to finally have time to make it into the store on Walnut street on April 5th.
The store was nice and just about every item I had saved was on display. I was able to navigate around pretty easily and figure out where things were, BUT: although I made eye contact with pretty much every employee present (even one that was assisting the one other customer present at the time)... not ONE person greeted me, spoke to me or asked if I wanted assistance. No one looked like they wanted to be there, let alone bother with me. I was in the store for enough time to walk around and look at every single display, reference my phone, pick up things, try them on, etc. Not a smile. Not one word. Finally one sales associate spoke to me, pretty much because I walked over to look at a display of jewelry that was less than a foot away from her and she seemed to reluctantly have no choice.
Even as a person that likes to look around and even shop independently, I like to be acknowledged at the very least and I would most likely direct my questions or need for assistance to the person(s) that gave a kind greeting or smile. None of that here. I eveb decided I wanted to purchase one of the items that I saw (a bracelet), but I was so turned off by the vibe, I left. (No one even said goodbye as I made it toward the door.)
Great location. Cool pieces. (Some things looked better online than they did in person.) Nice lighting to see everything. Won't be back. I'll stick to my local faves on Philly's Jeweler's Row. read more
