The first instructor I had was a woman who was very nice, understanding, and very helpful. I had rescheduled my second lesson the day of my test for a refresher due to her abilities, she made me feel confident and gave me tips and tricks. For my first lesson, after scheduling the lesson, they contacted me almost immediately afterwards and were very responsive. My second lesson they ghosted me and did not respond to any messages until I called them to find out that they had changed the instructor last minute and asked on the phone if it would be okay and did not even apologize, the woman I had quit and they never thought to tell me. I ended up just doing the lesson because they had literally told me as I was in the parking lot anyways. The instructor I had was very distracted, called me a bad driver, gave confusing directions, and watched Facebook reels at loud volume and turned on and up the radio during the lesson giving very little instruction. I ended up failing the test because I felt so unprepared and nervous. I ended up going to AAA driving school instead and passed! There was actually a meija driving school car ahead of me and they failed the test because they stopped the car after the stop sign instead of before. read more

They told me I could keep my hazards on for places that I should have used my directional, and I almost failed the test because of it. Growing up in New York City, I had literally never driven a car until I took my first lesson with Mejia's Driving School March of 2016. Two months later (unbelievably), I'm a licensed driver. It would not have been possible without them. I was nervous for my first lesson, but when I met Marcelo (one of the long-time instructors), he immediately put me behind the wheel. He probably trusted me more than he should have, but allowing me to drive from the moment I started helped me get over the mental barrier I had created for myself when it came to driving. Why choose Mejia's above the rest? - You'll get your license. They know what they're doing. Great, effective teachers, with a variety of teaching styles to suit anyone. If one isn't working out, definitely ask to work with another. I took two lessons with Marcelo, and the rest with Jhemmy. They know the test inside out (they'll even simulate the actual test for you to make sure you feel at ease for the actual thing). At first, I had trouble with turns, so we drilled them. Then, it was parking, so we drilled them. Soon, I felt super comfortable behind the wheel. Aside from ~max two hours driving outside of lessons, all of my experiences driving were with Mejia's. Whether you've never driven before or you're a more experienced looking to finally get their license, Mejia's has you covered. - The cost. It's ~$35 per hour lesson, with discounts available with class packages. Incredible deal and they're far more affordable than other driving schools in Rhode Island. And after that they didn't come to teach me anymore. Sonner was the one who taught me to drive but never enough 2 hours/day. He pick me up late (around 8:30) and drop me at 9:30. And now we can't text or call him after we paid $445. So BADDD...they are scammers. I hope I can sue them for this. read more

DO NOT BOOK LESSONS WITH THIS COMPANY. you will not be going on main roads or highways. They cut the lesson short every time. My first lesson was only an hour and a half and Marcelo was 45 minutes late. I paid over 350 bucks for a shitty teacher and a shitty experience. The driver will not communicate with you, he will not teach you how to be a better driver. Marcello was on his phone 90% of all of my lessons. Luckily, due to the help of my family, I was able to pass my road test. I recommend their practice course as it was very helpful but pick a different instructor. The driving instructor was late to our lesson and on her phone for over 30 minutes and constantly distracted leading her to tell me to turn left then yell at me that she said right. Good Morning, It was brought to my attention by my child that the person she took her road test with "Ms.Yuly '' was not AT ALL helpful and only said about 3 words to my child in the almost 2 hours of waiting to start her test. She had headphones in the entire time and was on the phone and that's not what she was paid to do. She didn't give any encouraging words to my child and when my child was having a hard time going from station 2 back to 1 she didn't assist or again give any encouraging words to my child which made my child feel discouraged throughout the test. Once she finished the last station she rushed my child because she "had another person she needed to take care of". As her grandmother is someone that works at a drivers school they are allowed to assist the student/person who is taking the test so I refuse to hear she wasn't allowed to help out even a little bit. I am not asking for a refund for my entire package because she said Juan was great but for my road test service I am asking for that refund and I think you guys need to re-evaluate Ms.Yulys position. The price for renting the car for a driving test "included the service of picking me up" but the driver in a very rude way ask me or better said demanding for more money for him after dropping me, and kept sending me messages upset because I did not gave him extra. Where do I begin. Sooo I signed up both my daughters to take the 12 hours and to use the car for the road test. Everything started out good and then all went down hill from there. My wife paid for all the classes which was 750 dollars. When my first daughter took her first class they asked for payment. Like really she's 17 she said you need to talk to my mom about that. When my second daughter took her first class same thing. Come to find out the payment didn't go through on their end through zelle. So my wife was just used her debit card and was surprised by a 3% charge for using a debit like really ok. I was informed that the teachers never take them on the highways or main roads just side streets. Wow so I'm paying you to take my kids on side streets. Wow that's really teaching them to drive. Both my daughters also told me the teacher reaches over and grabs the wheel while they are driving. Definitely not good made both of them nervous. So the day of the road test they pick up my first daughter and don't even tell her she's on her way to take the road test. At the road test site they switch cars and she drives the ladies car which is totally different and not what they learned on. They were unsupportive at the road test and didn't seem to care that my daughter just failed. They know what's on the test and spent little to no time preparing her. Maybe if the guys car didn't have light on the dash they could have used his car. My second daughter the same exact thing happened. So I basically paid 750 for both of them to drive around neighborhoods and barley touch what's on the test. I would have just saved my money taught them myself and they probably would have passed with my car. This place is a joke. I wish I could give zero star for the school. I had the worst experience here, the instructor was not professional or helpful at all, he was always looking at his cell phone and barely taught anything. He literally answered "you just need more practice" for all the questions I asked. It was a complete waste of time, I feel he just wanted to stall for time so that I could pay more later. I told the manager about this terrible experience and the solution he gave me was to buy the 6 hour package lol. I don't understand how this school still exists. I think DMV should be aware of this. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I bought a package for my son for over 400$ which included the drivers test practice course. This practice course included teaching a 3 point turn and parallel parking. They did NOT teach my son any of those practices and they were late for 2 of the 3 appointments. When I called to tell them to email my the certificate of completion they said he has to pass the drivers test first. At this time I told him if he is aware that his employees did not teach him what was on the package deal, he told me that I paid for a beginner package deal and I needed to pay for the 16hr package deal. I am posting a screenshot of the deal I bought and paid over 400$ for to prove what the package actually included. He kept interrupting what o was saying and I told him they are a crap agency and are a scam. He proceeded to tell me to stick my finger up my ass. I'm a 40 year old woman. Mr. Juan was a fantastic instructor who took my daughter around the mock course until he felt she was ready to take the test. She did and passed at 1/2 the cost. I wouldn't recommend this driving school to anyone due to how unprofessional they are, especially the boss. It started off with a text message I got in Spanish and once I translated it I realized it was from the driving school. It didn't include who was actually sending the message so I thought it was automatic. The boss calls me and tells me I never answered the text and I need to communicate better (even after I told him I thought it was automatic, since the text didn't start as "Hello my name is..."). Also, a couple of my appointments were canceled the day of and the first time the boss just rescheduled my appointment on a day and time I wasn't available, I even told him I wasn't available and the driver instructor still showed up! And the 2nd time the boss was trying to reschedule for the same day but different time, when I told him I wasn't available until after 12pm he responded "there is not any available spot after 12pm " .. with emoji and all, so unprofessional! He even changed the time of my appointment again without notifying me, which I would of appreciated since I left work early to make this appointment. Also, the boss kept trying to tell me I owed them for an extra class because I canceled one of the classes and they had it in the system I actually took that class. I literally had to tell him multiple times I cancelled that class and I'm owed another one. Instead he kept telling me I owed an extra 75$ which I know I didn't. When I thought it couldn't get worse the day of my road test I got a text the driver would arrive at 1:15 pm to pick me up even though my appointment was for 2:45 pm ( again I would of liked to know ahead of time so I could leave work early) and driver basically told me she's picking me up early because of the drive and waiting in line, it didn't sound right but I just went along with it. As soon as we arrived I realized she had another student waiting for her to take her road test before me. Instead of telling me the truth that she had another student she made up excuses because there was no line for the test and I live 20 mins away max! The only way I passed my road test was because of the guy instructor that I had he was very good at teaching, (I only had him for the last class) and the fact I practiced on my own time. I heard about this driving school because it was in my area. I went into it thinking that it would be a good experience. Instead, I spent over 100$ in lessons to then fail my road test. I did not feel ready for the test by was told that I would do fine. I think that the cheap cost of the classes attracts people but overall I would not say that it is worth your money. I didn't feel comfortable in my skills. I didn't even get a follow up after failing the road test in order to help me improve for the next time. I would never recommend this school to anyone. It seriously needs to get its act together and be more professional. It makes me wonder why the DMV even lists them as a driving school. read more
