It's been hours since my visit to Prometric for a board certification exam and my heart is still pounding. Anxiety and nerves aside, Prometric made my test day experience as bearable as possible. Simple to find, plenty of parking, signage outside to direct you to the entrance... easy peasy. On entry you check in with the main desk to confirm your appointment, test, and identity. I was given a quick run down of rules, details about my test (length, etc.), and directions to obtain a locker. The lockers are small and cube shaped so don't bring anything too hefty in with you. You're only allowed to bring an ID and locker key into the testing area with you anyways so you might as well leave everything in the car. Security is a priority here, cheating/attempting to cheat is simply not tolerated. You turn out your pockets, expose your shoes/socks if wearing long pants, and are wanded before allowed entry into the testing area. Sounds invasive but really only takes a few seconds. You're allowed wedding jewelry and glasses (which will go through a quick once over). Inside the testing area you have your own cubicle area with computer and noise-cancelling headphones. The headphones were a welcome addition... the woman next to me was physically manifesting her stress...constantly adjusting and flopping down in her chair, sighing, leaning against the cubicle wall. Before long though, the test was over and I was back at the main desk. The staff who were somewhat stoic to begin, softened when handing me my congratulatory letter (my particular exam provided results right after testing). The two employees present during my time there were professional and accommodating. Accommodating in that they answered all of my questions and ushered me through the entire process (as much as they are allowed to for standardized testing). I would not hesitate to schedule another exam here in the future if needed... but hopefully not too soon!! read more

I was super bummed when I couldn't write my exam at the Prometric in Brockton, because I really liked their friendly staff, smaller space and abundant private parking. However I had had to reschedule my test, and this was my best option. In the end though, I had a fantastic experience here, and would recommend to anyone. The staff were very friendly, the space was small and there was a private parking lot. If I were to compare to my only other experience in Brockton, the only thing I liked better in Brockton was the layout. It was a little more spacious in the locker area, and the bathroom wasn't also used as a storage area. However, it really was a non-issue. I would go back to either location. read more

I am so surprised that this test center does not have any reviews. I booked my GRE a little late, so I ended up making the drive from Boston to Warwick to take the test. I am so glad that it ended up working out this way. In contrast to the traffic and noisy waiting rooms that others have to deal with in the more urban locations, I had a relatively peaceful test day. There was no traffic near the center and plenty of parking. I was sick as a dog when I took the test, and the ladies there were as warm and accommodating as they were allowed to be (which, due to the strict rules of Prometric, ended up being more warm than accommodating). I'm not sure if the testing room is particularly unique, but I found everything very comfortable. I ended up focusing a lot better in that room than I did when I took practice tests, which worked out (very) well for me. Also, the center is near the airport, so there are lots of inexpensive hotels nearby. For a little extra money, I was able to drive down the night before the exam to make the day even more stress free. Taking standardized tests is rarely a fun or relaxing experience, but this test center is set up in a way that makes it as painless as possible. If it isn't obvious, I should caveat that the five star review is relative. While my experience was awesome compared to other experiences taking standardized tests, it wasn't so fun that I want to do it all again :-) I did learn one major lesson, though. The lockers that you need to put your belongings in are small, and you must fit your things in them. Don't be like me and bring a giant leather purse that doesn't bend well. It's random, but I wish I knew that in advance! Another random thing that I learned is that taking the GRE on MCAT day is pretty awesome. It does a great job at putting GRE stress into perspective and making it look like an easy/fun test! read more
