Customer service was very disappointing. After placing my nephew's order for graduation announcements I was told by the rep that they would be sent to the school the following Thursday and gave me the order number. That next Thursday came and went, but my order was never received. After being notified by my nephew that he still hadn't received about 1-2 weeks later, I called Herff Jones to find out status of the order. Upon calling them, they couldn't give me an answer immediately and I gave them the order number again so they could look up the order. After several times of me calling and being put on hold, they finally apologized by saying that they sold out and could not get the invitations there on time. If they sold out and could not make the timeframe they promised, why didn't they call me immediately to inform me so that I could find alternative solutions?????? Also from a customer service standpoint, they had no remorse and could have cared less about me or my situation. The thing that hurts me the most is that this happened to my nephew, who's mom passed away less than two years ago and my mother(his grandmother) was looking forward to this precious moment and experience with her last graduating grandson. Ordered HS grad package 1/24/22. Herff had no problem charging me right away, but I didn't receive any shipping or delivery notice on items. Our local rep (Chris W) does respond to emails, but lacks any sense of customer service or professionalism. We have not received nearly half our order as of 4/6/22. When I inquired, someone on Chris's staff replied in a more professIona manner. Unfortunately, the message implied I was late ordering and would have to wait until May to receive what I paid for in January... I am less than impressed and will not be ordering anything from this company for my other children. I can get better deals, faster delivery, and more professional customer service practically anywhere. read more

I ordered a ring online - dangerous - but I live in WA and graduated from Arizona State so that was my only option. I am a first-gen college student. My dad bought me this ring as a graduation gift. He and I have been so excited for it to arrive. We ordered it on Christmas day and it arrived today, so about 2 months - that seems fair timing. The issue I have is the ring itself....IT LOOKS LIKE SH*T. Seriously. Looks effing terrible. I'm almost in tears, it looks so bad. The quality just looks bad - low quality, and let me tell you about the engraving - PFFT! The engraved text is: CJR, BS, 2013. The engraved text is not centered at all on the inside of the ring, it is totally haphazard. The text starts out small & very close together then gets bigger & more widely spaced. It is AWFUL!! I emailed the comapny asking how to go about exchanging this. I advised them I'm ok w/ paying a little extra, return shipping, etc. I will update when I hear back. I'm so devastated right now though - the ring looks fake; like a toy. You can hardly read the sides which say "Arizona State" ... Do not buy class rings from here. When my first ring shipped, they sent me the wrong tracking and shipping information, and I could not get in touch with anyone about the whereabouts of my package until the day before it arrived at my house. Also, these rings are very overpriced for the quality of the ring that you get. When the ring arrived at my house, I noticed that they engraved the wrong school name on it, so I had to send it back and order a new one. Today, the new ring arrived, and while it has the correct school name on it, the engraving of my initials and their logo on the back of the ring are off center. The engraving of my initials is also very light, so you can barely see it! I will keep this ring since I don't feel like having to try to get in touch with anyone from this company again and wait another 6 weeks for a new ring to arrive, but I'm starting to seriously doubt the quality of this company's work. read more

Lets start with my daughter. She has been raised with manners not common in today's society. She uses please, thank you, So when the rep Lady that visited her school (Red BLuff High) in the 2018-2019 year and delivered the first batch of orders, we did not know that her stuff would be in the second batch of things. My daughter said she smiled, and said please and this woman went out of her way to humiliate her and speak like a total bitch. The second batch delivery date kept getting rescheduled We ordered a cap, tassel, and 15 invitations,I will say that my daughter said the woman basically threw the order at her. The cap and tassel came in a bag, the invitations were a joke, the font on the front was not aligned properly cutting off part of the letter. I should have just purchased invitations from walmart and saved money. So we were to get a loner gown, we filled out a paper with them telling them her height, weight, and what gets delivered, a cap, they claimed she ordered a cap. So less then 2 weeks left she finally got a gown, the lady again basically threw the gown at her like the other order she got, it was wrinkled and in no bag. I would like to state that many of the kids my daughter said got wrong orders with lots of things messed up. Her friend asked for a loner cap and got a gown. The lady representing the company that came to my daughter's school should work in a different industry since she has 0 people skills and doesn't even know how to smile and be nice to people. read more

I would give a 0,but that's not an option. I wish I would have read the other reviews before I made an order. I ordered my daughter's graduation announcements in February 2022, I called and talked to the lady ON THE PHONE before placing the order to ask if I made the order that it would be in before graduation. She assured me that there would be no problem with receiving the announcements before graduation in May. Because it was a late order, I had to order the "package" that included the sweatpants, sweatshirt and t-shirt (we live in Florida, where my child will probably never wear anything sweat). They charged my credit card right away for the whole package. My child received the pants, and both shirts within 4 weeks, great. In April, I called the Orlando office to see if I could get an update on the announcements. They could not tell me anything. I called back every day to see if there was an update on the announcements. I then got the school involved. The principal and the Senior Advisor reached out to the school's representative, who told them they would just give me my money back (I was not the only one from our school that did not get announcements). The next day after this conversation, I received a package in the mail from Herff Jones, I was excited that maybe they made a mistake, and this was actually the announcements. Well, I was sorely disappointed when I opened the box. It was my child's name cards, but the invitations were for a school in the next county down. I contacted Herff Jones and let them know the mix-up and did they want the announcements back so they could send them to the correct person, the lady told me no they didn't want them back I could just keep them. I contacted the principal of the school and I mailed them to her so that she could give them to one of her seniors that may NEVER get their announcements. My advice: DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! They did refund $102 to my account. The amount that was charged was a lot more than $102, I would have sent the pants and the shirts back. My husband and I both purchased class rings from Herff Jones in 1970. They are beautiful and well made. A few years ago my husband had his resized at no charge. I recently attempted to have mine resized and was told that the warranty only applied to rings made after 1983! We both are positive that we were told in 1970 that resizing of rings was covered under warranty, and his was! Of course, we cannot find any paperwork after so long. I am very disappointed and not willing to pay for a service that I believe is under warranty. read more

Given a choice I won't be doing business with this company again. We paid just shy of $80 (w/shipping) for 25 Graduation announcements. That's $80 for what is essentially 25 photocopies! They are incorrect and the company simply refuses to call back. The information entered wasn't incorrect or it would be incorrect on the confirmation but the final printing is incorrect. There isn't a 'speak with a human' just leave your number and we'll call you back. I've done this daily now for several days and haven't received so much as a call with a bad excuse. I wonder if they'd call back if I had the charges reversed? Their customer service is simply appalling. Part 2: They did try to send a replacement order. Unfortunately they arrived just a couple of days before the actually graduation and the reprint was apparently for someone else. The name wasn't even correct. I want to cancel the order and i will if it doesn't get here in the next week for my son's college signing day. I received my Master's Degree from the University of Phoenix. As a graduation present my wife ordered me a class ring from Herff Jones, who has a booth set up at the commencement. I ordered the ring on 6/7/13 and was told when the representative was filling out the order form that I would receive my ring in 4-6 weeks, and I would receive an email when the ring was sent. They billed my credit card on 6/9/13. I waited until the middle of July and contacted customer service to get a status update on the order. I was told that it would be mid to late August before the ring was ready to ship. I advised the representative told me it would be 4-6 weeks and I was expecting the ring towards the end of July. She said that it always takes 6-8 weeks. I waited until the first week of August and contacted customer service again to see if they could provide a status update. I was told the ring would be made the week of 8/9 and they would send the ring. I finally received the ring on 8/6 and they ring was wrong. I had request that they encrust the top of the stop with the University of Phoenix logo, instead it had what looked like a horse running out of a wave of water. I called customer service who transferred me to warranty repair. It was at this point that i was told they would send me a Fed Ex slip to printout and send the ring back. I asked how long it would take to get the ring back since it was their error, she said she would put a rush on the ring and it should not take more than a week or two. I sent the ring out the next day via fed ex and was shocked to learn that they were having the ring sent back to them fedex ground and that they would not even be receiving the ring until 7/16. I waited until 7/23 and contacted customer service to insure that they received the ring and to get an ETA on the repair and return. I was told that I would need to contact warranty repair and they gave me a phone number to call. I call the number and the message on the number says that the person at that number is only available from 1:00 - 4 :30 since he is training for a different position. I left a message on 7/23 and did not hear anything the next business day as his message says. On the morning of 7/27 email to the warranty repair mailbox and still have not received a reply from there either. At this point it is coming up on 3 months that I have been without my ring and I cannot get anyone at Herff Jones to give me a straight answer. For anyone thinking of ordering a ring from Herff Jones I would try to find someone else. 8/29/13 Was finally able to get ahold of someone about my ring. After 4 phone calls and numereous emails I was finally able to speak to someone in the warranty repair department about the corrections to the ring. She said she was working on it when I called. They received the ring on 8/22, but they are finally getting around to working on it, and it will take at least 3 more weeks for the repairs to be completed. I said that it seem rediculous that it should take another 3 weeks since it has been amost 3 months since the ring was ordered and I still do not have the ring. Her response was that she was sorry. I responded that sorry is not going to get the ring here any quicker and that if this is the type of customer service they offer, it really is a sad company. It seems that Herff Jones knows that they have a monopoly on the class ring business for the schools that they service, so they really could care less about their customers. I went to pick up my class ring January 26 2016 when I ordered it September 14 2015, and there was a huge crack in my ring. I was told it would take 3 to 4 weeks for it to be fixed and sent to my house and I was also told that there would be a rush-order placed on my ring(which never did happen), because all the inconveniences I have had to deal with in the process of getting this ring. Like it not being ready the first two times, I was told it would be, then it finally comes in, so we went to pick it up on January 26 2016 instead of waiting for it to be at the school on February 12th when we were told we were supposed to be receiving our class rings at my High School before Christmas break December 18 2015. The company allowed me to walk out of their office with a cracked ring that I paid $700 for. Which makes me question the quality of the ring itself! Still have not received my ring or heard anything from the company, I email them trying to get information on my ring and if (IF) they do email me back it's to tell me to contact a different department and when I do I hear nothing back. I have called several time and always end up on hold until I finally hang up 30 minutes to an hour later. I wish I could put zero stars but since thats not an option, I have to give it a one. Where do I begin? 1. I paid over $500 for my college class ring. I anxiously waited four months for its arrival. I just received my ring and it is nothing like I ordered! The color is silver and black when I ordered a silver/ white gold look. I ordered my initials as well that were not on there. the "BS" for bachelors of science looks like "85" 2. After looking up reviews for this company on ripoffreport alot of people are having the same problems. 3. The ring is so light it looks so cheap! Something out of a .25 cent machine. I will never recommend this company! I will be getting in touch with my University to discuss my issues with this company and see if they can have Balfour or another company come to our school of graduation fair. This is a review of Herff Jones Warranty service for College Rings. I am a 1987 United States Military Academy Graduate. I was told by a 1988 graduate that he sent his ring in and they resized his as part of the warranty. I thought great, I had not worn my ring in years because it did not fit. I went to the Herff Jones web site, saw that they would resize any college ring sold after 1 July 1983 as part of the warranty for no charge! I packaged my ring up and sent it. Guess what? I got a bill for $124 to resize my ring. Wow awesome customer service or what? I have now asked three different times for a copy of the warranty for the class of 1987. I keep getting answers like sorry for the confusion, but your ring is not covered. A Mr John Balcewicz said that USMA rings made from 2001 til present are covered. I looked on the association of graduates and the last class they made rings for was the class of 2002. I wanted to know if they were still putting in bids for academy rings as I wanted to make sure any cadet voting would not vote for their company. Their website says they cover any high school or college ring sold after 1 July 1983. John has informed me they do NOT cover West Point rings made before 2001, so basically they have said screw you to graduates of the military academy from 1984 til 2001! What a company! An update.....17 December 2010. After I posted this I received a call from Luana Dulin from Herff Jones customer support. We had a good conversation about the customer support I received. She said that after going to the Herff Jones website, it was quite confusing for her to figure out what the Herff Jones policy was or what the warranty process is. She said that Herff Jones would be willing to resize my ring for no charge. Yesterday I received my ring back and it looks brand new. Fits my finger for the first time in years! Now I just have to get used to wearing it again. Hopefully Herff Jones will be able to clearly convey what the warranty policy is for all of their rings. read more

I ordered my ring April 11th, 2015. I got it in about May 27th, and it looked beautiful but had the wrong school on it!!I went to University of Texas Health science center Houston and they put San Antionio. I called customer service and they said "Oh there is more than one University of Texas." Umm yea, that's why there is more than one on your drop down menu!!!! I sent it back and had customer service make notes of what it should say and wrote up a repair/warrenty paper with the correct information and got it in today with a completely wrong school. They put University Of Houston. How can you send me two competely wrong rings. The box and order form has the correct information but they still put the wrong shool. Now the factory is closing for 2 weeks and I will have to wait again. So it will be over 3 months till I get a ring that I paid over $800 for!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Wrong color gold and ring size even though I specifically showed him the ring I wanted and he sized my ring right there. I sent it back and I got a new ring and then had to send it back AGAIN because the size was still wrong! From the beginning they couldn't even have my ring by graduation which was guaranteed. I'm not surprised at all that all their reviews are very poor. This company has two sides. The rings are amazing - just exceptionally well crafted but you'll pay a lot and wait a very long time for them. I've ordered two in the last three years and had the same experience both times. They tell you it takes 6 to 8 weeks - that's just (if you're lucky) for the manufacturing. It takes MONTHS for them to actually arrive at your door. How many months? My daughter won a competition in January 2016. The gym approved the design and we placed our order and paid in March. Her birthday was in May so I paid for expedited shipping and told her it was her birthday present. I hoped the first experience was just a one-off. No such luck. May came and went, the birthday came and went, June came and went, in July other girls were receiving their rings, but not us. In June I started reaching out for help. One girl who paid for her ring in June got it in July - we were still waiting. Finally I realized the nice, patient approach gets you nowhere and starting sending frequent emails and leaving blunt phone messages. Last week (August 3rd) they told me it would be shipped Saturday and be with me Monday (yesterday). Fortunately I didn't believe them and didn't tell my daughter. Today I got an email saying it'll be shipped today and I'll have it August 10th. We paid for this on March 30th. Really??? In what world is this okay? It'll be the last ring I'll buy from them. And I paid for expedited shipping - to get it a day earlier, four months late. The craftsmen at this company must be tearing their hair out. They work so hard to do a great job and their customers are just beaten up by the appalling administration and those who handle it. How hard is it to put a decent process around this? Seriously..... I turned my 1961 high school class ring over to my local Herff Jones representative on Sept. 24, 2013. On Oct. 8 she informed me that the cost for resizing and restoring the mother of pearl stone would be $53. I sent the check immediately and she sent the ring off to RI. I received an email from her on Oct. 29 telling me that the ring would be shipped by "the end of the week" and I should have it within 3 or 4 days after shipment. It did not arrive. I called her to tell her and received the answer that it would ship by the end of that week, it did not. I then emailed her asking when my ring would ship and was told that she contacted them but had not heard from them and she would let me know when she heard from them. On Nov. 20 I again emailed her and she did not reply at all. I looked up the phone number and called Herff Jones, of course I got voice mail, left a message. Let's see if someone contacts me. I wish I had not sent my ring to them. If it's going to take 2 months then tell me it's going to take 2 months not that it will ship when there is no intention of shipping it at that time. read more
