This is a follow-up to my recent review that I posted about my heirloom bracelet being stolen from Reliable Gold. I have since been contacted by Sarah, the owner. I believe she is genuine in her regret that my bracelet was randomly stolen, in that it just can't be replaced. We hope that the Providence Police Detective Pichs will be able to apprehend the thief and, through some miracle, return my great-grandmother's jewelry. It's not of great monetary value but it means the world to me. Beware! I left my great-grandmother's bracelet for advice on cleaning, etc., and it was promptly stolen during store hours. I have heard from staff and the police are involved but the owner has not reached out. I have been a customer of Reliable Gold for over a decade. They are my go-to when looking for new pieces or estate pieces as well as for any jewelry services. They have appraised pieces for me for insurance as well as repaired pieces. I lost a diamond earring and they were incredibly helpful in walking through options with me to either get a new earring made to match the original or to discuss how else I could use my remaining diamond stud. I hadn't been to Reliable Gold in years! In the past, I had loved shopping in this unique store. The service had always been stellar. Today I needed my watch band adjusted. I was having coffee with a friend and thought I'd pop in. I wondered if I would find the same lovely store. My friend with wanted to get her anniversary band cleaned. Happy to report the store is still a great destination for shopping in Wayland Sq. My watch was fixed in minutes. Jennifer Wendel advised my friend that one of her diamonds was very loose!
