Then a boilerplate contract with errors I had to correct for him. $3000 payment over Venmo, but when I marked it as "goods and services" he tried to get me to resend it. When we walked in the door for her first lesson I was shocked. The place was filthy. He was wearing dirty clothes. The place was dark, lit by candles and the air reeked of incense. It was nothing like the pictures on google, not even close. He prattled on about how great he is. He felt more like a used car dealer than a professional. My daughter was so uncomfortable she refused to go back. When I demanded a refund he went silent. He's probably just a guy who's down on his luck, but it felt more like a scam. Whatever you do, go meet him at the location before you send him any money. There's a reason he's not up in Boston or MetroWest competing with reputable tutoring services.
