I like her. She's thorough, takes her time and easy to talk to. Her hours have been reduced but I'm willing to wait 3 months to see her.

Dr. Yau has a kind, compassionate, and gentle manner and I am always pleasantly surprised when he takes a genuine interest in my life, what I've been up to, etc. answers all my questions, and doesn't rush with anything. (Which explains why nobody gets their appointment on time. :) ) I also appreciate the other staff. One time I had painful 2nd degree burns from an accident; couldn't really go anywhere, and one of the nurse practitioners "held my hand" through text messages, advising me on wound care at home. The same thing happened another time when I had an infected spider bite. My only minor complaint is how busy they are and sometimes phone calls are not returned, or questions take an extra phone call to be addressed.

This office needs serious improvement in how it handles disability paperwork and patient…read morecommunication. My mother (an inpatient RN) was evaluated here for joint issues and was placed on two months of medical leave by her provider. However, when we requested completion of the SDI (DE 2501 Part B) form, the office refused and told us she needed to attend physical therapy first. We followed that instruction, only to have the physical therapy office clarify that they do not complete SDI certification--this must be done by the treating medical provider. When we returned, the front desk then insisted she would not qualify for disability, which is not their role to determine. Eligibility is decided by the California Employment Development Department, not administrative staff. This resulted in unnecessary delays, multiple visits, and completely avoidable confusion during a time-sensitive situation. More concerning is the lack of consistency--placing a patient on medical leave while simultaneously refusing to complete the required documentation does not make sense. Patients should not be sent back and forth or given incorrect information. If the office chooses not to complete disability forms, that policy should be clearly communicated upfront rather than shifting responsibility and providing misleading guidance. Just to be fair, the first NP encounter my mom had was pleasant and professional. But the administrative handling was disorganized and unprofessional. This process needs to be addressed.

When i inquired about it, the front desk person told me she didn't have me down for physical. I asked what did she have me down for? And it was a physical. So then asked if there was any other medical needs or questions i needed to ask the doctor today? and when i said no, she refunded me my copay. A week later, someone from their office called me and asked me to come in so i can discuss my blood results with a doctor. They also gave me the option to do this over the phone and SURPRISE!!!! THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME ANOTHER COPAY!!!! At my old PCP, they did not charge me a second copay for discussing my results. if you don't want to be nickeled and dimed for everything, then i suggest you look for another doctor's office. But i would say the doctor's here are actually very nice. They do listen to your concerns and i did not feel rushed during my appointment.

Upon learning that the patient had sought emergency care at another hospital--while still honoring the scheduled appointment at this clinic--the doctor became visibly upset and subsequently refused to continue providing medical services, despite the patient attending the appointment as planned. This highly unprofessional behavior has led us to consider filing formal complaints through the appropriate channels."

My concern is the lack of communication this medical group team have when it comes to patient care…read more They not only not notify patients but also are unsure of what is pending. This is a primary care office, which means that patient rely on their provider to advocate for them. When they don't know the disease process, or the diagnosis, or who the last provider who seen the patient was isn't that kind of concerning. When asked for the last provider name, the doctor here said that she will have to transfer us to the front desk as of chart review isn't a thing. When asked if Dr. Shinobu Luisa Kaneko is practicing, the MD said that she is only doing telemeds now. So really the practice is no longer with that primary as a primary. Why is it a bit misleading on who the provider is? Had a follow up appt, but the follow up seems like they did not do a chart review prior to the last visit and not brushed up on the patient's profile as well. Reviews are in hopes that they improve. Will do a evaluation in 2025.

When I asked the staff again they said she is only doing telemedicine but then I asked who is performing the PRP Microneedling that is advertised all over the office and apparently Dr Kaneko does it. So it appears Kaneko is only seeing patients who are paying CASH to see her. There is a new male doctor who is here who was a little off to me, I didn't exactly trust a lot of what he was telling me. And he gave me completely different advice than Dr Kaneko did in the past, so obviously there is a misalignment with the mission of this office. Are we more about a holistic approach or tossing me over to specialists for medication? I can't really trust this office anymore. I get what the doctor is doing in terms of building a more "private" practice catered to women's menopausal health, but do not string along the patients who want to see you. terrible business practice.

They are all so helpful and easy to work with and open to listening to all of your concerns, and they will address it by running the labs or diagnostics needed to address those concerns. This is something I really love and respect a lot about their facility because there are a lot of other facilities out there that brush off patient concerns as "just worried" and then don't order any follow up labs or referrals for those patient concerns, but here they will listen to your concerns and treat the patients concerns with respect and follow up on it. On top of that it is a breeze to get an appointment here and the out-of-insurance pay or insurance copay are all very reasonable and affordable compared to big facilities that take weeks or months to get seen that charge an arm and a leg in comparison. Yesterday I went back again for an appointment and once again Anthony was awesome and super helpful and Jenna was so patient with all of my questions and concerns and I loved that she had no hesitation in looking further into or addressing all of them (ie lab requests, referrals, prescriptions, etc). Because of this I will want to make more frequent visits because they make it all so much easier and pleasant and enjoyable to stay on top of my concerns for my health :) thank you to Dr Phan and his wonderful team, he knows how to pick a great bunch :)

The staff also wears gloves when handling bodily fluids or when touching patients. There are some hand sanitizers available for patients to use. This place is open and available with limited capacity. They are sanitizing in between patients. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is behind the building and it is very small. The lot does get full quickly, so you may have to find some street parking, but that shouldn't be an issue. Establishment: The establishment itself is very clean, neat, tidy, small, and organized. They recently moved to a new location, and I love everything except the parking lot because it's so small. A nice upgrade in office space. Yay! Staff: The staff here are very friendly, kind, warm, welcoming, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum. Dr. Jen, as always, is very professional, compassionate, empathetic, and knowledgeable. He doesn't rush, and he truly listens to his patients. I love that he isn't dismissive at all. And dare I say it was a very pleasant visit to Dr. Jen's office for the most part... compared to other doctor visits I've been to, going to Dr. Jen definitely won't be daunting compared to others I've been to. My first impression of the place was already a good start, with a very friendly staff and I appreciate that this place seems to keep things in order where I seemed to be the only patient in the office at the time (which is great for the pandemic situation). Dr. Jen was very thorough in my check-up and I specifically came here to also get a pap smear all at once. Very professional throughout, including his female staff member. The pap smear wasn't all that bad (granted my body wasn't cooperating for part of it but that's not his fault) and he made sure I was comfortable the whole time too. Logistics-wise, it was about 3 months out from when I made my appointment call, but I was ok with it since I didn't have an urgent reason. Office itself is in a good location. It's on the 3rd floor and you can find the entrance to the elevators next to the pharmacy. Bonus for the lab being downstairs if you need to get your blood drawn in the future after the doctor's visit, so it's nice that everything you need is in one location. There's free parking around the building and I didn't have trouble snagging a spot on a Friday afternoon.
