I typically don't write reviews or rely on them in choosing a particular service but I made an exception in both case when I selected MDG to re-landscape our front yard. There are so many supposed landscape companies in the valley that it was hard to know where to start looking. I contacted a couple of companies advertising in our locally community newspaper and found they were really just landscape maintenance companies that did other landscape work like irrigation, hardscape and lighting as an added service. Little or no thought given to sight layout, hardscape design or plant recommendation/placement. My daughter suggested visiting Yelp's website and after reading a number of reviews for landscape companies one clearly stood out from all the rest. Meise Design Group. Virtually all the reviews had 5 star ratings but more impressive was the level of detail people shared about their experience with MDG. OK, I thought. Let's see what these guys are all about so I called to arrange an on-site meeting to get a feel as to whether these guys could meet my needs. It's probably important at this point to admit that I am somewhat demanding, very particular, process oriented and, as a result, like to be involved in the details. Further more, after 50+ years of home ownership I consider myself somewhat of a self educated landscape expert. I humbly admit all this after working arm in arm with these guys ( Andrew, Eddie, Ryan) for almost a month on my project. These brothers are the consummate landscape company in all respects, bar none, no exceptions. If you want the very best then you've come to the right place. Trust me you will not be disappointed, or surprised. Customer oriented, quality of work, professional, competent, timely, communicators, work ethic, etc al. Was very excited when first getting together with the designer. The brothers were very energetic and positive! Loved the initial design but decided some tweaks were needed to be completely happy with the design. The designer assured me this was okay to make changes with the design he came up with because this is how they treat their customers and they want them to be happy and will work with them to achieve the design they love. So we made an appointment a month or so later to make the changes. The designer even came to my home to tweak with me which was fantastic! Unfortunately, once he left....I have never seen or heard from him again. I've called and left a message to have him contact me, but never have been contacted. I was told something about a girlfriend and he would have my new design in a couple of weeks (this was after waiting a few weeks for him to contact me with the finalized design after leaving my house). Never have heard back. Was so disappointed in this company after having such a great feeling about them. read more

MDG is simply amazing and I am not a person who typically leaves reviews for companies - but they have delivered such great work that I wanted to share my experience. Before starting our landscape renovation, I asked for recommendations from friends and also searched the internet for highly rated landscapers whose website had pictures that looked like what we wanted. From that, we narrowed it down to 4 companies to come to our home and propose on our project. After interviewing and discussing our project with all of them, MDG was the only one that listened to what we wanted, impressed me with their suggestions on how we can get more for less cost, and gave us options to the things we wanted to do. They were far and above the easiest and most knowledgeable of the companies we talked to. Furthermore, both Ryan and Andrew came out to discuss our project and worked together to find solutions to some of the trickier situations. Once we received all the estimates, we were once again completely impressed with the detailed line item breakdown of our project, exactly what we had discussed, and with exact pricing. None of the other recommended or highly rated companies even compared to it. We had made our decision. Upon securing them to our project, which was several months away, they provided us with a computer drawing of our project, as well as a CAD drawing which was fantastic for us to be able to imagine the final landscape look. They were always willing to discuss changes, adjust the estimate, or make suggestions prior to our start date. And they never asked for any money prior to the start date - they just required 1/2 on the day they arrived and the other 1/2 once the project was finished and we were satisfied. The first day of the project, neither Andrew or Ryan were here, and to be honest...we were a little concerned that perhaps we were going to have to walk the crew through what needed to be done. This was not the case at all and to our amazement, Eddie the project manager new EXACTLY what was to be done - in great detail. We found out later in the process that Eddie, Andrew and Ryan (the three brothers) had regular meetings with all of our information, drawings and pictures so they all knew precisely what was expected. Unbelievable! They showed up exactly when they said they would, if not a bit earlier, worked through the days and made extraordinary progress each day. Throughout the two weeks they performed the work, Andrew and Ryan were on the job many times to ensure that everyone was on the same page - The crew was respectful, hardworking, polite and friendly, and their workmanship is second to none. And I can't say enough great things about Eddie's day-to-day oversight of the work... Eddie was amazing, and was so good at everything he did for us... not only does he deliver great work, but he is very personable and easy to get along with - in fact, I would say if you can't get along with this guy, then the problem may be you (lol). Each day, after they completely cleaned up our yard, the street, etc., Eddie would check in with us to discuss where they were in the process and what to expect the next day. We were never confused as to their progress or what to expect next. As the project was underway, we would ask for slight changes which they completely managed without any issues. They were incredibly flexible and knowledgeable along the way. If a change order was needed, we were notified if it would adjust the original quote and could make a decision so that there were NO surprises. Andrew has extensive knowledge on plants, shrubs, flowers and trees and was able to give us information that helped make decisions on what was right for our yard. We were able to meet Andrew at a boulder yard to pick out exactly what we wanted and he showed up to our project to personally place the boulders. They did a complete redo on the front lighting in our yard and they showed up in the evening to put the final touches on it. It is stunning at night - and exactly what we wanted. We are constantly getting positive comments on how it looks. This is not something that most people do on a regular basis. I would suggest that if a landscape renovation is what you are looking for, look no further. This company has the most outstanding customer service we have ever seen. They are a detailed, responsible, hardworking, and extremely talented company. They take pride in their work, value their customers and the relationships. We had Meise Design Group put in irrigation and grass. Of the two companies we had out to quote, they were the ones that suggested we put in pavers to make a rectangle that would place the sprinklers away from the cinderblock walls, saving those walls from deterioration. Very responsive and knowledgeable. Took the time to explain our new system, and has been out a few more times for follow-up. read more

Meise Design Group just finished a complete new landscape of our backyard in Arcadia. We purchased the house with minimal landscaping. I had seen the Meise Brothers working around town and all of the work I had seen was amazing. I felt like they would be super expensive since all their work is top notch. After meeting with Andrew and explaining what we wanted and our budget, he worked tirelessly with us to design a dream backyard around our budget. Andrew is a genius with AutoCAD design and kept making all the revisions we asked for. The installation was quick, clean and amazing how hardworking and honest these guys are. Their work is absolutely top notch and I've never seen more dedicated and hard working guys work outside in the summer. Andrew never tried to up-sell us and kept offering great ideas for cost savings. They installed beautiful synthetic grass in the front of the house and great real grass, trees, pavers, plants and flowers in the back. They even installed a smart wifi irrigation timer that automatically adjusts the water as the forecast calls for. We had some trees planted and part of an irrigation system installed by other companies and were disappointed at the sloppy work. He is extremely knowledgeable about desert landscaping and chose trees, plants and cacti that will provide us with color most of the year. The three of them completed the work last week and we could not be happier. Our front yard landscaping is beautiful! Communication, punctuality and knowledge stood out right off the bat from the other bids (had several companies come out). I felt Andrew took the time during his initial visit to explain their process as if he was doing his own home. He was confident in his work and his pricing. The communication was outstanding during the process with quick responses. They do book out months, so you need to act fast! These guys were amazing in every aspect. They just finished my yard on Saturday and I couldn't be happier. Andrew took the time to bounce around with my schedule to meet with me to give me a great estimate. He was quick with responses and even got me the proposal back to me 3 days sooner than he had estimated. Andrew took the time to truely understand what my plans were for the backyard so that he knew exactly what him and his brothers were going to do. Edward even made the decision to have to work an extra day on my yard because the sod that was being installed wasn't up to MDG standards and made sure to get better quality grass. These brothers are very humble and respectful to you and your property while they are on it and it just shows in the work that they do.
