My history with Meijer goes back well over 30 years, having grown up in Michigan. Before Walmart…read morehad 24 hour stores, there was Meijer, who opened 24 hours long before Walmart ever started. And then I worked for Create-A-Card (if you remember them), which had personalized card printing in, literally, every single Meijer location. At the time I worked for Create-A-Card there were less than 50 stores. Meijer and I go a LONG way back. So as far as big-box, full-retail stores go, it's always my go-to. Groceries? Check Sweat pants? Check Aquarium filters? Check Windshield solvent? Check Sharpies? Check ..and the list goes on. The staff at Meijer is usually very helpful (if a bit hard to find), and there's never a team member sitting around doing nothing. People who work at Meijer usually have a great work ethic and I don't know that I've ever felt like I was bothering anyone when I would ask them where I could find self-sealing stem bolts. Likewise the store is usually pretty clean. Not like Walmart, where it usually feels like you're walking into a friend's house, but that friend has 4 or 6 kids under the age of 7 and none of them cleans up after themselves or puts their toys away. They often tend to keep the produce area pretty tidy, which is is a challenge because produce needs to be neat and tidy. Who wants to buy ugly produce? There are numerous big-box general merchandise stores, and when I need something -- anything -- Meijer is where I'm headed.

This is a great Meijer. There is a Starbucks inside as well as a Auntie Annes, which my Lima store does not have. They have a large garden area and sell items I certainly do not see in my Lima store including items like veal and bison. The store is large and well stocked. It is also easy to find the items you need. I think this is a great Meijer and I do not understand the negative reviews.
