I have yet to find a market I wouldn't recommend in this area. Value for your money is much better. That's difficult to find anymore.

Great store in Shipshewana. Like most stores it is staffed with friendly faces and sincere people that will go out of their way to ensure a great shopping experience. It is fun to leisure about the isles looking at the fun clothing that takes a certain flare to wear. The store is always immaculate and well stocked. In this store you will find everything you need from toys to shoes to pants or home items. If you can't find something just ask an employee. It has plenty of parking and it's connected to other stores so if you need to sit while waiting on a friend take a seat in an Amish made rocker in the main area or grab a cup of coffee from the little eatery across the way. They have restrooms that are in the main area and they are always full of toilet paper and very clean. It's a must stop shop when we visit and I recommend stopping too. read more

I only shopped for fabric here and it was just amazing. I mean I kept finding all kinds of things I just adored. My husband was with me which was so different but great for having someone to hold all my selections. He was glad to be here also as I picked out everything I wanted for my Christmas stocking, he is basically done 6 months early! We were smack dab in the middle of Amish country so the solid fabric selection was the absolute best I have ever seen, natch! And having Mennonite women help me just made the whole experience even better. I can't wait to come back here and buy more fabulous fabric! read more

If you need fabric for quilting this is definitely worth the drive. Just make sure that you plan for a few hours searching the fabric

Yoder's doesn't have the cheapest prices in town, but the selection at both the hardware store and department store is great. We find stuff we need there that we didn't find at other stores. They have a huge line of comfort shoes. I wear orthotics, and I've bought 8 pairs of shoes there in the last year, and I won't buy shoes anywhere else, because the salespeople are so knowledgeable. read more

One of my favorite stops. I like the whole store, but especially the fabric department. Everyone that I came across was very helpful and friendly, even though they were super swamped with customers from the quilt show. They also have a great shoe department. Well known, good shoes. Although I had a hard time finding what I was looking for size wise, they have a very good selection. I personally would be reluctant to purchase shoes here, only because of the distance. I have picky feet. Making a return or exchange would not be possible. Other hard to find items and things you never knew you needed. Good prices on everything. read more

OK, it's not that Yoder's isn't cool. It is really cool. It's a huge Amish department store in the middle of a an Amish strip with everything from clothes and shoes to food, fabric, hardware, kitchenware and toys. There's a line of rocking chairs down the center of the place where you can sit and watch people for hours. It's bustling and busy and you really have to go there just to experience the place. The problem I had with the place was the enormous mark up on everything. We found items there that we'd bought elsewhere for a third of the price. And I'm not talking about handcrafted Amish goods: I'm talking about made in China stuff. It just wasn't worth it. That said, I got an uber cool fuzzy hat there, pumpkin fudge, fabric for a shirt and other cool stuff. But the funniest part were the electric Christmas decorations. Nuf said? read more

OK for a department store for the area. Lots of fabric, big with the quilters who come to town. I wish the grocery store across the hall was still there. We would stop when in town to get snacks and groceries. read more

A really neat place...can virtually get anything in here from quilting, shoes, farm clothing, etc. A must stop to see this.
