If you need your prescription in a hurry, let them know and they will try to get it to you as soon as they can. You need to remember that they have hundreds of prescriptions submitted to them every day, so, you might not get it "right this second". The techs and pharmacists I've encountered have always been pleasant and went out of their way to help

This review is for Walgreens, Pharmacy, 3040 W. Michigan Ave. Jackson, MI, store manager, Michael…read moreand Pharmacy Mgr, Julie Purry and Pharmacy Tech, Sarah. In May of this year, I contacted this pharmacy and spoke to Pharmacy Mgr, regarding transferring my medications from another pharmacy, due to recently moving to Jackson, MI. Because of the nature of medications, that my doctor prescribes to me, I wanted clarification, from Walgreens, on their policies on filling schedule medications, she explained to me Walgreens policies. Not once did she or any other employee of Walgreens, bring up that your doctor has to be in a 50 mile radius of the pharmacy. My first RX was on 5/19/26, on 6/29/26, when my 2nd RX was filled, I had called and spoke to pharmacy to let them no that I no longer had insurance and inquired on using a discount card, Julie, the pharmacy manager, herself, was on the phone with me, when she mentioned, that she seen that my doctor, was outside the 50 mile radius and I told her that yes, and that I had never had anyone inquire about that, but explained to her my doctor used to be at another location and then relocated to Monroe, MI and I did not want to change primary physician, so I drive to Monroe, MI for my visits. She said that she understood and proceeded to fill my prescriptions, she never stated that it was only for one month, then she couldn't anymore. Then I filled my 8/3/26, rx's and not once did the subject come up and I used the discount card again. Yesterday, 9/3/26, my primary sent over to Walgreens, my refills, yet once again. The only thing that changed, is that I called the pharmacy, to be proactive, to let them know, that I have Michigan Health Plan (Straight Medicaid), spoke to Sarah and provided her my ID#, although she was not able to find me in the medicaid system, she told me just to bring the approval letter in. Therefore, today, 9/4/26, I called DHS, and got the correct ID#, then immediately called Walgreens, to give the pharmacy the number and to apologize for missing a call, from earlier. Only to be told by Pharmacy Tech who answered the phone, that one medicine was on order and the other could not be filled because my Doctor was outside the 50 mile radius. I told her that it was oked once before and she asked me to hold and Julie Purry gets on the line, pharmacy mgr, and she said she wanted to know why my doctor was prescribing me a stimulant and a pain medicine and that she felt my doctor should not do this. I am so taken back by this, I get you have guidelines and policies and I am absolutely on board with Walgreen's rule about the 50 mile radius, however, I have been filling my medicines, the same medicines, since May of 2026, and now she feels my doctor is wrong, or is it I have medicaid?? None of this came up on 8/3/26, nor did Walgreens, ever ask me or tell me that I would either have get another pharmacy or another doctor, because my Dr is outside of the 50 mile radius. Julie transfers me to Store Mgr, Michael and he proceeds, to make excuses and said I should of known they were giving me a courtesy, and I should of known it would have to change. Hello, how am I going to know without Walgreens stating, we will fill this for you this month (6/29/26), but we will not be able to do it again, but to turn around and fill them on 8/3/26, with no questions. I understand the liabilities, that the pharmacy/doctors have, especially filling rx's of opiates and other schedule medications, I have a niece who is a pharmacist, but to deliberately withhold medications, from me, is wrong, especially on a holiday weekend, when doctors offices, sometimes close earlier and I am out of medication. I am not a junkie and I am not a pill seeker or a person who uses several pharmacies and I am very familiar with the MAPS system, I was in healthcare. I go to my schedule doctor visits and I sign and abide by my pain contract with my physician, so tell me Walgreens, WHY is it because I am on Medicaid and you are not getting a kick back or making a certain %.? I can answer this, because you employ people that are not consistent in there duties to carry out these policies and when you discover that you made a mistake, you punish and stereotype me, because of a medicine I take. Since Julie thinks she knows my medical history and feels she can make decisions, for my primary physician, then she clearly knows withholding my medication, because thinks my primary physician does not know what she is doing, then she knows it is ILLEGAL. I am sending this to the State of Michigan as well as Michigan Board of Pharmacy, Michigan Bureau of Professional Licensing, Michigan Department of Insurance and the Michigan Attorney General.

My husband had his vax appointment here and it was SUPER speedy and efficient. When I took my mom…read moreand grandma to their appointments earlier in the week at a different location they were short staffed so it took a little while longer (about an hour start to finish for both, including 15 minutes post vaxx time where they have you wait to make sure you don't have a reaction) whereas my husband was in and out in about 20 minutes, including sign-in and the post-shot lingering time. This location is a bit smaller than some of the others I've recently been too and because of that they don't have a dedicated private vaccination room like some other drug stores. Instead they just come out into the waiting area and poke ya. But the pharmacist that administered the shot was really friendly and gentle. My husband said he didn't even feel a thing and the pharmacist talked to us a bit about the needles they use and the brand and how it's meant to be as painless as possible. NICE! So if you're afraid of needles, don't be afraid of these! We roamed around the store for a bit waiting for the all clear after and browsed. This location hasn't been renovated like some of the others I've been to recently but it's still clean and well stocked.
