We switched to the pharmacy at the Meijer on Plainfield a few years back. Previously, we'd used other Meijer Pharmacies, CVS, and Walgreens. The staff at this location go above and beyond each time we visit. Prescriptions are filled quickly, the team is friendly and communicate clearly, and if something is amiss, they reach out to us. Well I see my pain is shared with many other customers who use or at least try to use your pharmacy. Ive been shopping at Meijer stores for quite sometime and I tell you, the past two years the location on Kalamazoo and 28th is by far the saddest representation of a pharmacy that I have ever seen. Everything from denying my prescription that had just been called in by my physician, to telling me to bring the old one that I paid for into the store to get the new one.....because...... why??? You totally go against an MD's prescribed medication by what authority? Oh because the floating pharmacist said "just in case, hold it for another day.....in case of what?? Also......." YOU HAVE NO AUTHORITY TO MAKE THAT DECISION.... As you soon found out!! You do not answer the phones, you dont send out the computer automated messages to commmunicate with your customers about their medication status, oh and did I mention you DONT ANSWER THE PHONES?? I have been waiting 3 days for a medication that I never knew there was a problem about becasue no one bothered to let me know and I tried to check but a NATIONWIDE PHARMACY CHAIN DOES NOT ANSWER THE PHONES.... This location is convenient because of gas prices but now I have to deal with that and go to a new pharmacy of a different origin because a multi-billion dollar corporation get can't get its services right. The people that work there are spot on doing the best they can, but whomever is running this location........well. I was on hold for over 20 minutes at this Michigan location.......Twenty Minutes! This is my usual meijer. No real bells or whistles at this location, unless you count the subway in the front. But if you're looking for anything from fruits to tooth paste, there's a good chance they have it here. The variety of vegetables and fruit seems to have grown over the years at this location, as well as the "ethnic food flavors." Which, as a foodie, is a big plus for me. Be sure to check out the Mperks program. My family has saved all kinds of money using it! Update: I recently downgraded review to a 3 star because of the pharmacy. I stood in line for over a half hour waiting to pick up my child's prescription. There were five people in front of me and nobody paid for other groceries there. I've never worked in a pharmacy before, but I don't understand why it takes so long to give someone their prescription. read more

I deal with insurance companies, and pharmacies more than I like too. Lily has her insulin pump supplies, test trips, ketosis sticks, and lancets delivered monthly. Insulin, and glucagon comes from Meijer pharmacy on Plainfield. I have a friendship with these people. I have meds I get there too. They go over and beyond to help. My dog need anxiety meds, Josh at the pharmacy helped me so much. I thank them everytime, they are so overwhelmed and under paid..thank you for all you do!! read more

Let me start by saying this review is for the helium balloons ONLY!! I walked in to get some balloons to go with my Halloween costume and it took awhile to even find someone to help me. The guy who helped me was very friendly but the balloons didn't even last 12 hours! I bought them the night before and in the morning half of them had lost their height so I had to quickly figure out how to make that work for my costume. Too bad I spent $9.54 on 10 balloons because I wanted helium and it just ended up I could have just blown them up myself and used regular balloons! This is a typical Meijer store in terms of content. However, it is a little smaller than some other stores, such as the Knapp's Corner and Cascade stores. For my money, it makes it easier to get around and find things. And find things you can, from soup to nuts to hardware to housewares, electronics, groceries, meat and produce! There is a reason they are the Midwest's largest retailer. Plenty of parking. Helpful and friendly employees for the most part. One complaint I have, and I have it for all Meijer stores, is that they are designed with very poor air conditioning in the check out areas. So after zipping all over this large store, you are forced to bake in the check out line. I'm talking no air movement! Ugh! Otherwise, I like it! read more

This review is coming from a doctors office. Not only do they treat their patients poorly they treat medical staff the same. I called to see if patient could get her medications early due to transportation issues as she does not have the funds to drive back and forth. Not only did they answer the phone with a Hi and not thank you for calling Meijer pharmacy. I then ask is this pharmacy as she was not professional, she then says yep, what can I help you with? I asked if patient could get medication early and she then says, it depends. So I read medication to her and she then hangs up on me. Tried to call back and of course no answer. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME. I did advise patient to go to different pharmacy as they treat their patients poorly and medical staff. Very disheartened by this. read more

The Plainfeild Meijer is currently in the finishing stages of a major redevelopment project that called for the original and woefully outdated store to be demolished and replaced by a brand new store built elsewhere on the same site. In the month of June the new store was completed and had its Grand Opening with allot of fanfare. At 192,000 sq. ft. the new Plainfeild Meijer is smaller than the 214,000 foot facility it replaced. But more efficient stock rooms and a far better layout in the sales floor makes the new store feel larger than its predecessor. In addition Meijer has done a great job with product adjacencies making for quick in and out shopping experience. The grocery section is the Plainfeild Meijer's strongest feature. Its 15 aisles and large produce dept complimented with fresh meats and seafoods, bakery, deli, and delicious to go will meet the demands of even the most avid cook. However a wide selection of organic products and free wi-fi access in the sit down cafe area makes the new store appealing to many of the collage students coming up from downtown campuses to do there shopping. The retail section is well stocked, organized, and will meet most home living needs. However aisles are somewhat tight in some areas and the toy offerings need to be beefed up a little bit. However for older kids, the video game offerings and wide variety of electronic gadgets will more than make up for scant toy offerings. As for customer service, most of the old store's staff was transfered to the new store. Many of the employees there have been working at the Plainfiield location for more than 10 years. Collective experience gained from very slow employee turn over rates shows. Customer service is welcoming and cheerful, cashiers are very quick and efficient while employees on the sales floor are willing to answer questions in quick order. Overall the new Plainfeild Meijer will continue to serve its local market area very well just as the old store has. So I recommend this store to anyone looking for good one stop shopping, good customer service, and and low prices. read more

There are very few things that I miss about Michigan now that I live in California. They are: fireflies, thunderstorms, my family, and Meijer. Meijer has EVERYTHING you could want in one place. This particular store is well organized and very clean. read more

Watch out for pricing scanner scams and the clerks at customer service who will tell you that they do not offer you the bonus anymore. It is a state law posted ont he Michigan Atty General's website. They also post deceitful tags and place them over/under more expensive items (not the ones on sale). Pay close attention to what the sale item tags say especially in grocery. They rely on most people not catching their scams. I only shop here when necessary or ironically, when they have a good sale on something as it takes me too long to pay attention to sale tags' exact wording to make sure i am grabbing not only the right BRAND but the right ITEM and then to monitor their pricing scanners upon checkout. read more
