I purchased 4 packages of Vermont Creamery Butter from Meijer last week because they were on sale, but my wife was upset with me today when she went to use the Butter and noticed 3 of them were expired. As expensive as prices are when you shop for groceries, it a shame when Meijer tries to cheat people by selling expired groceries. I had to trow them away, since I didn't have the receipt anymore. After contacting corporate regarding sharp areas on their shopping carts I was told that they were going to pull those carts. If I saw any in the same condition next time I shopped, I was to speak with the manager. The next time I went was Easter. I assumed the manager I was told to ask for wouldn't have been in so early. I did find more carts in the same condition. I emailed corporate with photos, again. I ended up getting an email stating the case was closed. The issue I had with these carts was the potential of germs getting spread by someone cutting themselves and spreading it to the next person who cut themselves. I've never heard of this store until I came to Michigan. It's apparently a chain store. This store is pretty big. To me it looks sort of like a Walmart. It has different departments like food, pharmacy, clothing etc. They even have name brand clothing like Adidas and Champions. If you're on travel for work, this location is close to a few hotels so it is conveniently located within a couple of miles. They have everything you need in one this one store. They earned three stars because while the store has almost everything, the store was a bit out of order. The shoe department was very messy, could not find my size. I couldn't tell if the women's clothing section was plus sizes or regular because all the sizes were mixed from a SM all the way to 3X. Customer service was ok. I was greeted at the door but could not find anyone on the floor to ask questions. Fitting room was closed could not try on anything so clothes didn't fit. And so this is my second time in the store. read more

It's a good place. This was my first time going to a Meijer store. It reminded me of a Walmart but better (in my opinion).

Imagine, a grocery store that doesn't sell beans. This Meijer doesn't sell dried beans. The website shows the location of the beans, claims they are in stock, and yet at the location given, we find ice cream cones and what not. 3 sections of them. No beans at all. And I find no more anywhere in the store. In general this Meijer does a poor job of stocking and fronting their shelves. read more

It is upsetting when you shop for groceries anymore because prices are so high, but when you shop at the airport road Meijer the fruit and vegetables are spoiled before you buy them. I recently purchased two apples and a watermelon when I cut them open, they weren't any good, they were spoiled. I also wanted to buy white onions while I was there, but you could see that they were rotted and covered with gnats. The produce department has a gnat infestation also. I hit this location for last minute sale items on a Saturday night, before the sale turnover for Sunday, on our way back from an evening out to dinner in Battle Creek. I will plan ahead next time. Walking in to this Meijer was too much like walking into a Walmart. Weird people, bad layout in produce and grocery aisles, and super dirty. Bathrooms, check out, floors, and carts. I can see how the store staff is having a hard time keeping up with the patrons trashing the place. I asked for assistance from a guy that was setting up to restock the paper goods and though he had a little edge to him, he was eager to help. I can't blame him. Didn't help his mood or mine, that two loud 10 year olds were climbing the shelfs, making animal noises and no parent was insight. General cautionary review for if you find yourself visiting in the future. Not so much all on the store, as it is what you can expect to encounter if you should happen to visit. Never go to this Meijer for curbside pickup. My pickup was to be between 4:00-500 PM. At 4:00 I received an email saying my order was ready for pickup. After arriving at 5:00 I called the number on the sign. The guy told me they'd be out in a couple minutes. After 50 minutes of waiting I called again. I was told they were on their way. I waited another 10 minutes and then the kid said his device wasn't working and wouldn't put my order in the car. He finally put my order in the car at 6:00. Been a long time since I was this angry. As a matter of fact I'll probably go to Kroger from now on!!!! read more

Lines are out of contol!!!!!!!!! No ice in pop machine : ( Deli cheese cut and broken into pieces & stuck together (duh maybe some wax paper in between--guess we need to start asking for it). No garbage can in parking lot by cart returns anymore. That's why we usually don't go here anymore -- the lines! Also, please tell me why I cannot use my phone, text or recieve email while at Meijer? As Jackson's economy continues to struggle so too does this particular Meijer. The produce is far and away the best of the grocery stories and hypermarkets near where I live, but the overall quantity and variety of items in stock has gone down over the last 5 years. It remains however the first place I go to do my grocery and household shopping. This Meijer's situation isn't helped by its cavalier treatment of its employees, who are underpaid and scheduled for minimal hours, but called in to work extra shifts (often with little or no notice) and yet still somehow manage to provide decent customer service. The management consistently under-schedule cashiers in particular, so the check-out lines can be horrendous. (You've been warned!) read more

I am in town for quite a couple of weeks and needed to get some snacks for my stay here so decided to go here. OMG the customers here are nuts. You have the stereotypical crazy person just blindly driving around on the store supplied motorized wheelchair/shopping cart, this person ran into my, the person next to me, a end cap display and a produce bin. All in about 5 feet, but this has little to do with my review. The isles are poorly labled (I mean who goes to the market and buy "actual spelling here with actual case" Rc Cola), the produce did not look right and smelled kind of funny. Some of the sealed bags were actually busted and some of the bottles of water were actually opened, highly unacceptable. Also the unorganized mob at checkout did not help matters either, while the register staff was quite friendly they need to try to do a little more on shepherding people in lines. While I do have the luxury of going home and shopping elsewhere I do feel sorry for those who are forced to shop here. read more

Meijer is great! This one is average size and has all of the departments. The produce is perfect, but it doesn't suck either. I wish the bakery was a bit better, but it's just a regular grocery store, so no gourmet expectations are going to be met. The greeters are nice! Not all of the cashiers are great. read more

This is my 4th time not.bei g able to use my self scan. I keep getting message trying to fine location. Asked at service desk and girl pretty much blew me off never attempted to help. Last week stopped in photo dept. Ladies there did help and sent my phone number to someone in It dept. Who was supposed to contact me but never did. Back in store today same thing. Jackson has two Meijer grocery store locations. Airport Rd Meijer tends to have long lines for self scan/self check out versus the East Jackson store. Parking lot is decent and cleaner than most. Expect to wait a minimum of a good 15 minutes while your Pint of Ice cream thaws into a soup. Cashiers are a thing of the past with this day and age. Airport Rd Meijer shelves are stocked and a plenty. Produce is pricey even for in season fruit and vegetables. However, Customer Service has been kind for returning policies and understanding of defects and recalls. The Barber shop is decently staffed and moderately priced. Pet section is small. Handicap Parking and handicap powered grocery carts are accessible for those who require the help. If you're to stop 'n shop in Jackson this store is the better option and less of a trip since it's next to North-US-127, I-94. Parking lot is generally secure for exchanges and parking over night. Police are always nearby. I hope this review and my experience helps you. I shop here on a weekly basis. read more

I've been coming to the Airport Road Meijers for 15 years and although there are some unpleasant visits sometimes, my overall experiences have been very positive. I can't say enough about being able scan as I shop as it saves at least 20 minutes at checkout. It takes just a few minutes to check out with a full cart now. Great selection of everything we need from a grocery store and the remodeling of the pharmacy seems to have sped things up there as well. I speak of going into the store for my prescriptions. The drive-thru is this same speed so I don't use that. read more

To be fair I'm not a big fan of supercenters to begin with as it takes forever to get in and out. I'd pick this place over Wal-mart but I'm not a huge fan. They never have enough lanes open and they're always out of stock on sale items. The stockers never seem too helpful when you ask them questions. Prices are average. Meat is terrible but the produce is alright. It is right off the highway. Typical supercenter. read more

When I moved back to town, I shopped at Meijer for a couple years. When I went to Walmart I saw many of the items that I buy were much cheaper. So I switched. The staff at Meijer is very friendly, more so than Walmart. But the prices at Meijer too high. read more

I love Meijer it is so so much better than Walmart in my humble opinion! Especially the produce section! They have a wonderful selection of regular and organic food throughout the store and if you look the organic stuff really isn't that much more expensive! I understand on sale items run out of stock but how have they not managed to order more items when they will be on sale! The produce was not good. They have a great cleaning crew through out the night. Nice to see the place it cleaned and cared for. Things are well stocked and people are very nice at helping. Only complaint is a lady named Missy, she was very in helpful and had very rude tone. Pharmacy place is nice and get my meds ready on time and give me updated messages. Even when the line is very long the cashers are nice and keep a smile on there face. read more
