Meijer Howell is a well designed and well stocked store. Their staff is courteous and professional.

This was the worst experience I've ever had at Meijer. I want to be sure that you understand that I am reviewing the Grand River/Latson Rd location in Howell, MichiganI must admit I never shop at this location because there is a more convenient one in Hartland, MI. I won't be shopping here again. I needed some items because I am sick and I also wanted to order a few groceries items at the same time. I placed the order rather late at 1:30 PM in the afternoon so I knew it would be an evening Pick Up -I thought getting a pick-up time between 6 and 7 PM was very reasonable. When I got there, we waited about 10 minutes, which is not horrible. (Other than there was only one other customer in the Pick Up parking area.) The young man came and brought the groceries to my trunk. (At the grocery store I go to in Texas I don't ever inspect the groceries before I leave & on rare occasion I've missed an item....but overall my purchases are about 99% accurate at my regular market. I've only ever shopped at Meijer in Hartland, Michigan, and I've not had any problem there either. I've only done a pick up order one other time. Anyway, I gave the young man a five dollar tip and thanked him. He did not shut the trunk which just might be something they don't do here in Michigan so no big deal. I got out and shut it. We had a stop to make before going back to my nephews where I am staying. It took us about 35 minutes at that store because we had to get some photos processed and decided to wait on them which is only a 15 or 20 minute process -anyway we headed back to Fenton when we finished. We grabbed the four bags and headed to the house. That's when I discovered I was missing all my grocery items other than one frozen item that was bagged separately from some flu and cold symptom purchases along with a instant read thermometer. I was missing the salad dressings, the lettuce and the Fresh Mediterranean feta and olives for salads. The reason that I ordered from Howell location was that the Hartland locations entire Online system was down so i couldn't order nor pay for my purchases and I didn't know how long it would be down. Guess that was a bad decision considering I didn't get half my purchases. Anyway, I'm think that the person who grabbed my groceries to bring them out didn't get the refrigerated items or maybe the grocery items - -not sure since I did get the one frozen item along with about six cold and flu remedies. At that point, I didnt feel like driving the 12 miles back to Howell. I did get on their website and made a contact letting them know and I'm awaiting a reply. Since no one was available, they are supposed to call me back. At any rate, this was an extremely disappointing experience. read more

I do all my shopping at this store. They have a great selection of fresh produce. I love the online ordering & pick-up service. Then there's the pharmacy. (1) They send cryptic texts. They claim to have no control over them. They refuse to include any useful information (which only I can see) due to HIPAA. At the window, however, they think nothing of announcing RX names & personal information loud enough for everyone in the area to hear. (2) Then there's waiting in line for 20 mins to P/U a prescription only to find out I didn't come soon enought for their secret requirements & they put it back. They send me to another window where I have to wait in line again. They do whatever they do & send me back to the 1st window to wait in line a 3rd time. There has to be a better way. (3) Go in to P/U 2 prescriptions. One is not in stock. If they had notified me, I would've waited until both were ready before I went in. They tell me to come back tomorrow for it. I go back the next day & they still don't have it. Again, no notice. Had to back a 3rd. That's not customer service. (4) Tried asking a question about OTC meds in the pharmacy area. They claim NO responsibility for those med & know nothing about them. Who, then, does know? read more

Stopped by to get some clothing spot cleaner. How to get our balsamic vinegar out of an off white sweater. Grabbed some Shout and Tide stick too. Already have some Oxi clean at home Ended up getting Tide stick, Shout and Go pads, raspberry Kringle, Grand Traverse Pie Company Apple Pie too. Went in for cleaning and left with that and some desserts for tomorrow too. $37.74 Their Meijer brand danishes had high fructose sugar in some of them, didn't look so appealing, neither does their lemon square, way too thick of bottom crust for us. read more

This Meijer has the worst set up ever. The grocery section is set up in a way that makes no sense in my opinion. When you take a look, they have HomeGoods mixed right in with groceries and all the aisles are split so you have no idea where anything is. I don't know who designed it, but they definitely need to change it. When I finally do find the products I want I don't see them being out of stock like they're at other Mayer stores. The bottle return area is always packed and dirty. I really wish there would be a limit on how many bottles people can return. I've gone in on a Saturday and there will be multiple people with five bags full of cans and bottles to return. If they're gonna do that, then it would be courteous of them to do it on an evening when they aren't very busy. There's always a really friendly man at the front greeting you. read more

Terribly ran store. Some managers/department leaders treat employees horrible on the store floor. I witnessed store leader Shannon berate an employee to the point of tears. I will drive out of my way to Shop at the Hartland Meijer. read more

Although I live in Howell and shop at the Howell Meijer several times each month, I recently went to the Hartland Meijer store. What a HUGE difference! The Hartland store is beautiful and SO WELL STOCKED !! I wish I lived closer to that store. The Howell Meijer needs a better manager ... the only time I have seen him in the store is when District Managers are present. The stockers have their carts blocking aisles during store hours and many shelves are empty or low on stock. We need a better manager in Howell ... PLEASE !! read more

Pharmacy is slow. Excuses made for being disorganized. My prescription called in from Hartland was not ready at Howell after driving 20 minutes and waiting over an hour. When asked how long it would be I get "I don't know. We are working on it." With that poor respinse i decided to leave and told them Id come back another day since my dog was in the car. After a 5 minute checkout of other stuff I get the "Its ready" text just as I'm leaving the parking lot. Not convenient at all. read more

Stay away from the pharmacy. They will not fill your prescription, The pharmacist pretends to be a doctor they'll deny all prescriptions The worst customer service I've had, people are rude. These people should not be working with the public. read more

I am a Meijer shopper. However, it makes Me Angry that there is a sign on the door that face Coverings were required. So until you start enforcing your own rules, I won't be back. Nobody LIKES to wear a mask, know I don't. But I do it because I am considerate of others. read more

This has to be one of the best Meijer I have been to, yet. The layout was much different, but I liked it, a lot. I was in an out quick, which was my goal and this pit stop couldn't have gone smoother. Only wish I lived closer to shop here. read more

This is a monster-sized Meijer. Everything you could want. Separate health & beauty section. The bottle return is like a separate little building, to the left of the main doors to the rest of the store. Watch out. The produce is gorgeous and the prices are great. You might buy too much. They usually have nitrate-free bacon. I can't always find it in the Ann Arbor Meijer locations. read more

After living in a few different cities with Meijer locations, I can honestly say this one is tops. Clean, friendly, well organized, and most importantly, the most MASSIVE booze section you can imagine. Seriously. A kid in a candy store is pretty much the same as an adult in the booze aisles...Row after row of everything you can imagine, including plenty of Michigan made items, and always great sales. I am only knocking down a star because the deli is awful. I refuse to use it anymore -- and only will put up with the wait when the hubby is with me to entertain our kids. I usually can get my entire shopping trip over with during the time he stands and waits. Meijer: I've written you an email, and told all your employees...PLEASE install a kiosk so we can just order it and pick it up later, OK?! Then, I will give you 5 stars :) read more

I have given up on this Meijer awhile ago due to few lanes open, poorly stocked shelves and general bad layout. I got a mailer yesterday saying they completed a renovation, so I decided to give them another try. 20% of the grocery items I needed were out of stock and it took me 26 minutes of waiting in line to check out. 5 cashiered lanes were open, with each having a line going into the cards/accessories/clothing departments. I was tempted to abandon my cart and go to my typical grocery store, but I had committed too much time in the trip already. I'm blown away that they spent all the money on renovations, which do look nice, only to have the same service issues. read more

This is a nice Meijer. It really is. The layout was awkward to me at first but you quickly learn it. The wine/ liquor selection is great. But for the love of God- can you please hire more checkout people?!? I DREAD the lines at this Meijer. They're always painfully long. If it's a busy time, like the weekend- I sometime go to Kroger just to avoid having to wait in line forever. read more

This is by far my favorite meijer. The layout is convenient and allows me to get right in and out if I'm going in for something quickly. I also love the MPerks app on my phone. I buy a lot of baby stuff so I save a ton with that app. They have an excellent gluten free section. My only complaint, if you can even call it that, is that their meat selection doesn't have a ton of high quality steaks. It's kind of limited. read more

This is a huge Meijer, with spacious aisles, good lighting, and it's clean and tidy. The produce is fresh and fairly priced for the most part, with a large selection of organic, vegetarian and vegan friendly items in both produce and dairy. The only complaint I would have is I recently bought lobster tails from the seafood department and they were bad. Otherwise, the seafood department is typically pretty decent, but I recommend Kroger for better seafood (fresher and better options). Well done, Meijer-Howell! read more

I try to avoid Meijer when I can, but sometimes it's just the most convenient option. The Howell store is one of the best! I frequent a few other locations in the area and this one outshines them all. It's well kept, organized, and always has what I need in stock. read more

Your typical Meijer. This one is laid out differently, the groceries are in 2 areas. A bit confusing but still navigable.

Only reason it doesn't get the 5th star is because of the stupid layout. The grocery is split up stupidly into sections with opposing aisles and it is significantly less intuitive and harder to navigate than other Meijer stores. But it's still a Meijer, which is awesome. read more

The store is okay, if you go on a Saturday a lot of sale items are out of stock. Self checkout guy is rude. I stop frequently, as it's on my way home from work, every time he is rude and arrogant. He needs a lesson in customer service. The only help I usually need is when I am buying alcohol and get carded, every time he has some smug comment. read more

Been to many Meijer stores all over the state. This one has the worst produce I have encountered. Over the holidays and even last night, the shelves are unstocked and out of A LOT of: everything. Very few employees working, I had 3 people ask me if I knew where to find items. Long lines to check out and only 3 registers open. (They recently eliminated the uscans.) I will drive 7 miles to Hartland if I need something from Meijer from now on. Much better store! read more

Super upset. Such poor rude service. Lady by the bagging area acted like we were brothers. The system said to place items in bagging area and she looked at us so rudely and pointed to the bag like we were damn dogs. Pharmacist was very rude as well. Not doing my shopping here. read more

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE! AWFUL customer service. They are not helpful or friendly. They do have good prices and a wide selection, but the customer service makes this meijer unshoppable! I was looking for coffee filters so I stopped an employee walking by that had just gotten there. They were trying to make it to the time clock to punch in in time since they were obviously running late. Rather than stop and help me and punch in late, he sad, sorry can't help you, I have to punch in in time or I will get fired because I have been late so many times before, find someone else and I don't work in grocery anyway so I don't think I could help you. WHAT?!?! Well I still needed the filters, so I ran around the store looking for another employee to ask. After 15 minutes of looking for someone, I finally found an older woman, she said I don't know where they are, but I will help you find them. She took 10 minutes to find them! Shop anywhere else in Howell but not here or walmart. Take your business to kroger, or VGs. read more
