I don't mind going to Meijers to shop with the exception of self checkout!! If I don't have more than 2or 3 item's it's ok. Almost every time I buy a larger amount, esp Fresh vegetables, it's problematic! Also, I do the checkout for free while the cashiers are paid! I am a vegan and out of all the stores I went to this store as more varieties. I like that they keep most products in the same area; not like Walmart they change things around in the aisles. I find that most of their can goods taste better, you can smell how fresh the Deli foods are, all their produce is kept clean (especially, with no insects flying around), their clothing has a pretty accurate size, and so much more...Especially, the fresh smell of the bakery when you walk into the store. I have had the best customer service; they take you to the product, and sometimes give you tips about the product you are looking for. They seem really concerned on wanting to help you, and they know how to clearly explain their merchandise. I also get good deals on the mperks (digital coupons), not only are you saving with digital coupons but, you might also save at the cash register; I average about $600 or more a year just on mperks. You can also save with other coupons and their low prices. It is free to sign up and use the digital coupons; no membership fee. I have been shopping at the Findlay store since 1988, and overall it has been the best store to shop at; they generally keep most products stocked up, the aisles are clean, they have great sales & savings, and excellent customer service. You know Meijer doesn't get enough credit especially when Wal-Mart is down the road. This Meijer's has pretty high quality produce, with several different types of produce available. Outside of produce, I really enjoy going down their international aisle where you can get spices and food from other parts of the world. On some items, they can be a little pricier than Wal-Mart, however, everytime I needed help from a Meijer employee, they know where to direct me, they actually walk me to the location and point out the product for me. When I'm at either Wal-Marts (Tiffin or Trenton), their employees are not as friendly, helpful, nor knowledgeable in their products or where their products are. Meijer's also has some pretty good deals advertised! I've also noticed that many times I just assume Walmart has the better deal, but when I actually go to Meijer's to price check, Meijer's has a sweeter deal than Walmart. This has happened on many occasions, but not all. They also have some great cashiers. One time, I didn't feel safe that this guy was following me around the store (yikes... and yes, this was in Findlay), and the cashier had immediately got on the phone to call for another Meijer employee to walk me out. The guy ended up really following me and the employee out of the store and into the parking lot. The employee took down the plate number after I confronted the guy. A little shaken but relieved that Meijer's cared about my safety. I feel much safer knowing that Meijer's takes extra precautions with these instances. read more

Largest Meijer I have ever been to. They added onto the store but forgot to modernize the restrooms. They look very old. The store greeter by the Drug Department entrance was very friendly, some of the others were just going through the motions. Drove to Findlay from Fostoria tonight and went into Meijer because the father and husband and I were trying to buy some of the ad items for sale. Went searching for the pork chops, hamburger, and chicken breast. The hamburger was advertised for $1.79 a pound and we were determined to get some as it was the 80/20 hamburger. The pork chops were advertised as $.99 a pound. The chicken breast was $1.19 a pound. When we got to meats not only were they completely out of pork chops, they were out of the hamburger and chicken breast as well. The first employee we spoke to said there wasn't anything in the back and that there was no one in meats after 9 o'clock. My dad asked for a manager and it took almost 10 minutes for her to call a mangager to come down to meats. I want to clarify one thing now, the advertised $1.79 hamburger was the fresh hamburger, not the prepackaged stuff. So this manager comes down and is off the bat rude from the start. My dad explained we were looking for the $.99 a pound pork chops and the $1.79 a pound hamburger advertised in their ads for sale. He said that they could only put out what comes on the truck and he said "We can't help it if we get really busy and run out." So he offered to try to find something to substitute for us. He came back out a few minutes later with a ten pound package of what looked to be the 73/27 hamburger. He asked how many pounds we were planning on buying and when we said we only wanted to buy between 5 and 6 pounds he tried shoving the entire ten pounds on us and said that would be how we'd get the sale price was buying all ten pounds of a hamburger that wasn't even the burger in the ad. He didn't even mention a word about the pork chops and didn't mention a rain check for us to come back at a convienent time for us as we'd made a special trip to shop at this store. It seemed the only items they were out of were the 2 day sale items. We'd picked up a few other items as well and after the way the manager treated us, we put all of them back and walked out of the store. My dad plans on calling tomorrow and speaking with a day manager as the night manager is highly rude. read more
