This Meijer is OK but for some reason the employees can get rather petty here. I don't really want to blame them because that may be the manager getting on them. But like today, I got a thing of sushi and boots - both were heavily on sale. I was stopped by the older lady at the exit and she asked to look at my receipt (which I don't think they can actually legally make you do but whatever I know theft is a problem) she got really confused how I spent so little on the items and then pulled over another employee wasting everybody's time. I tried to explain that the shoes are half off the already clearance price. And it took them a minute to believe me. Pretty sure it even sit on the receipt what was going on. Why is that burden of proof on the customers? I'm clearly not trying to steal anything and I am cooperating, so save that effort for the people that are actually stealing stuff. I was overcharged 60 cents each on 3 cans of dog food. I went to the service desk with the price tag I got from the shelf in the pet section. The person wasn't apologetic and said nothing at all. She gave me a cash refund and I left. At home I looked at the slip and she had misread the receipt and refunded the overage for only 2 cans. Next day I went back and showed that I was owed for the 3rd can. The most bored acting man named Rumoz or something like that looked at the slips and rummaged around in the register to find the coins he wanted and put them on the counter and walked away. The coins were filthy and worst of all, he was 20 cents short. I waited an extra 5 minutes for another person to get free and give me the right amount and take the filthy coins back! Meijer's always has the best produce out of the local grocery stores around. They usually have all the hard to find produce right there in Myers. They also have the wine that I drink all the time so that's the main reasons why I go another good thing they have. They have a ethnic aisle with all the ethnic foods that I also love. Meijer is a nice grocery option. In addition to all of the standard large grocery sections, it also offers a lot of non-grocery items: large clothing and shoe sections, toys, books, a gardening center, seasonal, and more. They run some good sales via their weekly circulars. They have a large parking lot and have relatively recently added both a gas station and electric car chargers to a section of said lot. On my recent visits, the staff have been friendly and efficient. Their self-check stations are small and limited to about 20 items, so a large shopping trip necessitates a cashier lane visit. read more

This location of Meijer really sucks and I would never come if not for the low prices. It's so big and they should have it better organized. They make the sections hard to find anything. It's customer service also sucks. There are no employees when you need them and then they never will know anything so it won't matter. I really hate wandering through here. It's so unorganized and it takes forever to find anything. The products are so scattered around the store, and the aisles are blocked with stacks of seasonal items. Service here also sucks so bad. There is never anyone to help you that isn't a recent hire, and the rest of the employees are unfriendly. Idiot manager in deli berates staff in front of customers. Produce and other employees are slightly more helpful. Is not much help from customer service. There are better prices and service at Aldi, and Trader Joe's is not that much more expensive with much better service. I would avoid going to this Meijer. This is my neighborhood Meijer and I really like it. I have been shopping here more during quarantine, because when I go out I want the trip to be quick. Before COVID I would go to Kroger, but I can get to Meijer in 2 mins instead of 10mins. The store lot also has designated parking for quick trips, 15 mins or less and it is right up front, which I love. They have mark off 6ft marked for standing in line at the cash register as well as the self check out. They don't require masks to enter the store, but I wish they did, lol. Pricing is reasonable and that's important during these times. They also have an app for coupon downloads. I suggest hopping on that and clips digital coupons to help. I generally like Meijer, compared to other similar stores (Target and Walmart), I prefer Meijer better This location seems to be rather lacking though, it's not awful, but I have been to better locations, some that have nearly blown me away how great they were Now this location does seem to be going through some updates, and they are also putting in a fuel center, which seems to be almost complete, so that's nice (though I wonder why they didn't do it earlier) As someone else pointed out, they do seem to be a bit disorganised, there are some products in aisles unrelated to that product (say trash bags in a food aisle instead of a housewares/cleaning aisle), and a lack or misplacement of display items (for applicable products) according to the location of the boxed item (say a display shelf could be completely empty despite the boxed product shelves are stocked, or a mix of boxed product unrelated to the item on display) What bugs me the most though is checkout The card I use most often has a broken chip, it swipes just fine, but the chip just can't be read by any reader (I know, the card needs replaced, still trying to get around to that) Using this card at almost all other stores, it's no issue, insert the chip 3 times and let it fail, then swipe, type PIN and done, at Aldi I don't even need to do that, insert chip once and their system already knows it's a bad chip and lets you swipe Meijer's self scan stations? Nope, nada, not gonna work, you can insert the chip a million times and their systems still won't let you swipe... At all, ever Now sure, in a regular cashier lane, insert chip 3 times and it'll let you swipe, just like everywhere else, so why not self scan? Okay, so maybe it's a security thing, they probably want a cashier/attendant to be around to witness the swipe to make sure it's a real card and not an old hotel room key reprogrammed with stolen card data or something, I get that, but can't that be done from the attendant station? But nope, I was told to go to a cashier lane... Of which all open lanes were packed and I would have to wait a while... To purchase ONE item Come on Meijer, chips break, imagine trying to check out, having all your items scanned, ready to pay, and say the only card you have to pay with has a broken chip, good luck checking out read more

They never carry Homemade Brand Ice Cream. They stay out of most of the flavors, and when you ask anyone for help with seeing if they have in the back.. nobody seems to want to do it, or knows who handles it. I've literally went in there three times one week and three times another week... They never have it on the floor. Night time, day time, dosen't matter. I get a gallon of ice cream a night. I sit at home with no life.. Meijer dosen't understand about how bad some people need their ice cream. lol read more

Imagine the inane amount of redundant to completely offbase questions and comments they have to field all day. People are mean to them all day. I couldn't believe you could buy milk and cheese at the same place you could buy a medium size floor rug. So this locale has a special place in my heart, therefore let me appeal to the general public to be kind to the hard working folks at this Meijer. I think they do a great job and I bet they have loads of fun in the back room cameras watching the silly self-important humans that come through. This is my "home" Meijer, and I go here several times a month. I typically go after midnight, and of course it's usually not crowded then. This time I went on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy. Still, the wait at the register wasn't too long. It's a typical Meijer. Huge, grocery on one side, health and beauty/electronics on the opposite side, clothes in the middle. There's a good selection of just about anything you'd need on a normal day. Sure, they don't have everything I need to work on my car, and you're limited to small projects in the hardware area, but really, they have a good variety of products. Bakery and butcher, etc., are well-staffed and well-run. The place is clean. And it's open 24 hours a day. (Wish the specialty areas were too, but I guess that's the price I pay for being a night owl.) read more

This really is a poorly-run store. They only seem to stock the store once in the morning and they are pretty much out of anything in the weekly ads. Worst of all is they typically only have 2 or 3 cashiers working and the line is backed up with 10 people waiting. With my lousy luck, I'm always stuck behind a Dublin housewife with a full cart and 60 coupons who wants to argue about a nickel of her husband's money she is spending. I realize they probably budget X amount of hours to cashiers every day but don't seem to have a clue on when busy hours are. Apparently they also budget many hours to employees just standing around doing nothing. If 26 of the 30 lanes are NEVER open, why not build self-serve lanes for unlimited items? I have to mention employee Cameron who I see every time I'm in the store. Cameron is a fat little try-hard with a man bun. I so want to tell him that guys who make minimum wage can't pull off the look. I hope he sees this. read more

I honestly never thought I would be leaving a review like this for the Meijer that I shop frequently. I went to the Deli at around 6:00pm on New Years Eve and asked the young man to for a pound of ham. He barely looked at me and said that there was pre cut ham in the cooler. I said, no I want mine cut thin.... Again he couldn't be bothered and said it's pretty thin... he could see my frustration but he really was not the least bit concerned. I decided to let someone else help me and apparently he didn't like this. He said, the precut wasn't good enough? I responded that I told him it wasn't thin enough and he stormed off! Another woman started yelling for him and then looked at me (the customer) like I did something and then said now she was stuck there by herself! I am in the service business myself and would never behave in that manner, especially with a customer who is a regular and gets along with the employees there. I am so disappointed and I think Leadership needs to take action before those at the deli drive the customers away. It was single worst experience I have had at this Meijer in 8 years. I'm from Michigan and hadn't shopped at Meijer for 10 yrs, basically my whole time living in Ohio. I had told myself they were too "expensive" but I shopped at Giant Eagle in Kingsdale Shopping Center for 3 yrs because I lived in Historic UA. But once we moved to Brookside Woods, and Meijer being closer&me also having A business account with Meijer, I decided to give them a try again. It's been cool so far. My only beef is it's like Walmart, meaning they will have 25 lanes and only 2 open along with the Ucsan lines. I avoid the Uscan at all costs. I don't work there, so the proficiency of me scanning and bagging my groceries pales to someone whose job it is and they do it more than me. Besides, I just spent 20-45 minutes shopping, why would I want to take everything out the basket I just put in, and ring it up. If this is going to be the business model, give customers incentives to use the Uscan, otherwise I will be quite content to stand inline with my 4 items to wait for a human being to ring me up. read more

I don't have any hang-ups with the store itself. I have a severe issue with a bird feeder I bought at this location. I'm not saying Meijer made this (I forget the brand) and I wish I could find the actual product to write a review on, but I can't so I'm writing here since Meijer carries this awful bird feeder. This bird feeder was $24 and had a good sized bird seed section and a suet cage on both sides of the feeder. I've only had the feeder for a couple of weeks and it's killed two sparrows. Apparently when the suet cages are empty, smaller birds can get tangled in them and die. I'd assume a decent bird feeder wouldn't be a danger in the slightest. This one has KILLED two! I do not understand why this location can't seem to have anything in stock that is in their weekly ad. Today it was pork butt on sale for $.99 lb. I went right when they opened. It does not matter the time of day. They also only had one cucumber in the bin. Last week, during the week of Thanksgiving, they had zero brown sugar, zero cranberries and zero black olives. Yes there are shortages, but this has been on going. Other Meijer stores are very well stocked and very clean. This seems like a management issue. Very disappointing. read more

Is it possible for me to hate a place more than Wal-Mart? I didn't think so...until I took my first (and last) trip to Meijer. The produce looks horrid. The (dis)organization of the grocery portion of the store is bizarre. Canned beans by paper goods and bulk candy??? I spent far too long here to only get 2 canned items, dodging countless screaming children and battling others who slammed their grocery carts into me. The self-checkout was fast (I'm a pro) but that's about the only good thing about this place. Oh, that and the door greeter Edward called me "honey" as I walked out. I saw Katie review this and had to chime in. Believe it or not, when I was a lad......okay, fine, a mere 6 years ago.......I worked night-stock at this horror of a store for a month. Being an employee here was more labor intensive and I was treated worse than even my Surgery rotation during medical school. Ironically, I now live less than a mile from the place and it is still awful. My guess is that less than 1/4 of the people have been there for more than 6 months and the ones who have either do not speak English, or are completely jaded and surly and have NO desire to help you. Alas, I still shop here from time to time due to their convenience and cheap prices on fresh produce. It is definitely hit or miss, but when things are 'in season' in Ohio, even Meijer has nice looking items. Of course, they never have enough lines open and their 'self checkouts' won't let you buy a head of lettuce that weighs more than whatever god-forsaken "average" they have set on the scale. 1 star. I used to live in the apartments behind this Mejier when I was in college and back then it was my go to store. For Sawmill Rd, it is probably one of the oldest, least updated, and poorly kept buildings. The parking lot doesn't have enough lighting which screams "rob me!" It could really just use an update but I find most Meijer's are like this. Prices are pretty on par with Walmart and Target. Store is fairly clean except for the restrooms which are in the front of the store by the entrance. I think if they had them inside the store they would be cleaner. Today I do my grocery shopping at Giant Eagle...I think they have a better selection, higher quality foods at similar prices and the stores are clean, modern, and safe feeling (I would prefer my wife shop there than here for that reason). I would much rather buy other goods here vs. Walmart or Target if they have it, but sometimes the selections here are odd. read more

Honestly, I don't shop much at Meijer but I go occasionally because they have a particular brand of treats that my dog likes. Also, I despise Walmart so if I need something in the middle of the night that Giant Eagle doesn't have, I'll trek to this Meijer as it's very close. I always have to remind myself to check the dates on anything I buy because I've purchased a few food items and then realized they were at least a few months past their expiration date. The last time I went, I looked out of curiosity and found many more expired items, especially in the pasta sauce and Ethnic foods area. This Meijer is in a nice area, but it screams unsafe to me. The building is old and everything is outdated. There are usually several lights out in the parking lot so be wary. I've only ever seen one or two people up near the self-checkouts but they have always been kind and attentive! Their clothes/shoes selection is really great for a big box store. They seem a little pricey but always on point style-wise. They keep the fashions up to date. The Home section also always has wonderful selections! The 3 stars is due to the security issues and expired products, but otherwise, I do enjoy stopping here from time to time! read more

This place is weird. The grocery section is fairly normal (although the non-packaged foods are nothing to write home about). The prices are good. Importantly, they sell bulk Jelly Belly beans. The rest of the non-food items seem like knock-offs of knock-offs. There's some namebrand stuff, but lots of things, like candles and housewares, just seem like ultra-generic versions of what you really want. It's fairly inexpensive, but it's kind of like shopping in a foreign country: things look familiar, you're just not exactly sure what you're getting. I've always found the service to be fine. A large scale, regional grocery & department store that is a family run business. You can do quite a bit of your shopping in one visit here. One whole side of the store is their grocery department. The rest ranges from clothing, home goods, automobile supplies, pharmacy, garden / seasonal and more. They are open 24 hours. They have numerous check-out lines as well as plenty of parking space. A nice selection of produce with unique items sometimes. However, their produce up keep is terrible. I just saw an entire box of rotting Fresno chilis. And that's not the first time I've seen something like that. And they're grossly understaffed at check out relying too much on self check out which is designated for carts with 20 items or less. Only 2 non self check out lanes open the day of an impending snow storm where everyone here is stocking up. Not a well run store. But good for a few specialty items that are hard to find elsewhere. Better then a Walmart and Giant Eagle. Has more stuff then both and is cleaner. I hate going in because it is just so big but for most times they have everything I need and is easier to park at.
