It took me so long to write this review because I don't like saying bad things about companies but after today December 8, 2018 when I found my BRAND NEW Redskins Hoodie turned inside out with PAINT and PLASTER all over it and stashed behind some storage boxes in an upstairs spare bedroom that was the last straw!!!!!! They took the time to turn it inside out and hide it. I did not have work done in any bedrooms so there was no reason for them to even open the door. I had all 3 bedroom doors closed. I'm sure this was done when I left my elderly family member here for 1 day because I had to go back to work. They actually took the hoodie off the hanger and rubbed it in paint on purpose. I only found it because I was pulling out Christmas decorations. These people are evil and I guess they are not Redskins fans. If I could leave my phone number in this review I would just so I can tell you the horrors I went thru. They drank 2 cases of my water without my permission and then put the half empty bottles in my freezer. I had to trash everything in the fridge. They left water rings from the bottles on my furniture. They wrote the words F**k You on my laminate flooring boxes. I reported this to the owner Sergio and he was supposed to come and talk to me but he sent his son to talk to me which was a waste of time. In October I was moving stuff around and saw some strange symbols carved in my brand new $1500 Bose Soundbar box. This box was behind my sofa unopened for 6 years and no one ever touched it but me so who carved this crap? It was not there went I bought it from Circuit City. When my house flooded I didn't want any electronics put in storage so this box was in the room where they were working. I was looking around my house for 2 months for my brand new hoodie and today I find it covered in paint. I left Sergio a message and sent him pictures of my hoodie. I'm sure I will get no response. My concern now is how many other things will I find in my house that was destroyed by these people. I am so mad right now I want to get the police involved. I was very nice to these guys ....I bought them lunch one day and I gave them water everyday not knowing that they were stealing water I had in my storage room. Sergio kept telling me it was ok to leave them in my house alone I said no I don't leave anyone in my house alone. I ended up using most of my vacation time. Oh...did I mention the spit I found on my floor after they left. DO NOT LEAVE THESE PEOPLE IN YOUR HOUSE ALONE. I have cameras but with the construction going on I turned them off. BIG MISTAKE on my part. I would have had the person on camera. My project was supposed to take 3 maybe 4 days but it ended up taking 8 or 9 days just to paint and add flooring to the first floor of a very small townhouse. Then they had to come back on a Saturday to fix things that they did wrong or sloppy. I have baseboards that are not straight. I have quarter round that is not attached (I went to sweep and the section just came off). They had to come back and re paint my whole kitchen. You could still see the old white walls thru the new gray paint (they did a rush job on the kitchen). If you decide to use this people wait at least 2 weeks after the work is completed because you will find tons of stuff that is not done properly. They installed a powder room light fixture and I touched and it fell sideways. I pulled the bathroom sink stopper pole up and it came all the way out in my hand. I have paint spots on my new paver patio in the backyard (still cant figure out why they were in my backyard with paint) I paid them to paint my front door but they did not do it. I had to call and finally they came back and painted it. Sergio refused to fix my baseboards . He said my floors are not level..LOL. I might be a woman but I'm not stupid. I sent Sergio a text message and I told him he needed to send his workers back to fix this stuff and call me to discuss. He replied "I have nothing to discuss the work is over". But had the nerve to ask me for the money for installing a bathroom light that almost fell off the wall when I touched it. The transition piece of wood between the hall and laundry room was not even glued down. It was sticking up. They painted my laundry room and storage room bi-fold doors and didn't let them dry but placed them up against each other so all 3 doors stuck together and were damaged when they pulled them apart. I could go on and on....but I wont. I will be reporting this company to every agency I can find.

We had RJ Construction replace our existing deck and construct a screened porch on the new deck a…read moreyear and a half ago. Robert Altendorf (the owner) walked us through the process and provided an array of options including deck materials, style of roof for the screen porch and other items we had not taken into consideration (including screening under the portion of the deck covered by the screen porch so we wouldn't get any unwanted visitors in the porch area). His crew was fantastic. They had the old deck down in less than a day and immediately started on building the new deck. The work was of very high quality and the price was well within the range we expected. Most recently one of the screens in the porch are detached during some strong winds and Robert quickly came out and replaced the screening himself. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Robert and we definitely benefited from his expertise and care in addressing any issues that came up. We would highly recommend RJ Construction for any deck projects.

When signing a design contract, I was so excited to work with Cedarbrook. Right from the beginning…read moreMike made us feel very comfortable and assured us he could replace our 20 year+ s me deck and patio within our budget. He was flexible with our schedules and answered all our questions. However, once he had our deposit that quickly changed. Mike's quote for a FLAGSTONE patio was originally $12-14k and advised if we switch to pavers it would be significantly less. However, after patiently waiting for him to finalize the numbers, he provided us a revised quote for the same size PAVER patio for $24k. Mike could not provide a clear or consistent answer for why the price doubled. At first he said it is because he omitted $8k of debris removal and haul away costs. (Which was our first red flag - how does a professional contractor with 17 years' experience exclude debris removal when doing a full deck and patio replacement?) Then Mike said the quote was based on a smaller patio. We were clear from the beginning the size of the patio can't decrease. So this answer is either false or he had a glaring error on his end. In fairness to us, we asked to see the drawing of the smaller patio that supported the original quote. We patiently waited; however, Mike was unable or unwilling to provide the requested drawing. Then Mike blamed another contractor saying that he doesn't set the prices. If that were true, how did he confidently quote us $12-14k before we gave the deposit? That question is still unanswered. Mike also was unable to complete the design in a timely manner - taking over 7 weeks to provide a plan and pricing to replace our same footprint. We were told construction could be completed by the first week in December - turns out that was also false. We put in over 2 months of time, effort, and planning into this project and are now waking away incredibly disappointed and frustrated. For a company with such great reviews, this is a true shame. Despite all these red flags, it's is important to note that, until recently, we wanted to find a way to make this work - after all mistakes happen. However, having an owner not be able to take ownership of his mistakes and work with the customer to find a solution is just bad business. I strongly advise anyone thinking of doing business with this company to be very careful. Sneaking in costs and not being able to back them up is simply wrong. We clearly dodged a bullet, so for that I am grateful.

And most remarkably, they said they'd have us back in our house after 2 months, and they did. We felt very lucky to work with them.
