I reached out to Nira to request a quote for a design I was interested in getting. After going back and forth for a bit about the design, we set an appointment. From the moment I arrived, she was so welcoming and kind, it felt like I had reconnected with an old friend.. Along with the great conversation, this woman can also design and execute her style very well, and it was such a pleasure to watch someone work in their element with creative freedom. I will definitely be back again! Already anticipating what designs to do next. read more

This review is long overdue! My apologies Nira is super talented and was able to give me exactly what I wanted, and she has such a steady hand! Her henna is great on sensitive skin, I even bought extra from her. She also allowed me to test jagua around my wrist tattoos. You will be happy that you chose Nira to create your mehndi design. She's very reachable and has very flexible hours. My friend and I went to her location in Woodside to remember my friend's trip to NY. She asked for pictures in advance for the kinds of designs that we wanted then she created her own design in person. She will give you an estimate of the cost in advance, minimum $15 for a hand. She uses all organic natural henna dye. I was a little disappointed that mine did not resemble the photo I gave her, but I wasn't upset because her designs are undeniably beautiful. It took a lot longer to complete & dry than she told us, but her company was a pleasure, including her sweet cat. She's an excellent conversationalist. Just don't get too attached to a particular design and plan for extra time for your design to dry. Very easy to smudge so be careful not to mess up her hard work. Lasts about a week+. Would return! read more

Nira saved the day! I went to another shop for henna and they botched it. I stopped it half-way through because it was so bad. I found Nira's number on yelp and she was able to fit me in last-minute to do a cover-up design. It was so beautiful! Nira is personable, funny and just fun to be around. And she made a beautiful design for me. Thank you, Nira! read more

Nira is an extremely talented henna artist. She is patient, kind, generous, and easy-going. She really tunes into what you want in your henna design and she delivers. She did both my bridal henna (hands and feet) and my henna party for my friends. She brought black henna to the party as well which was very thoughtful as some friends chose to have that instead of the traditional one. She is good with people across generations and cultures which makes her a delight to be around. She is patient with questions about the henna and its after-care. I received many compliments on my henna and it stained dark and has lasted. She makes her own henna and lets you select the oil blend, which smells great! She really made my bridal henna and henna event a very special part of my wedding! read more

Nira is awesome! She did my henna as well as came to a henna party then ext day for my family. She is really fun to spend time with and has a very steady hand. Moreover, she was great at putting up with my fidgeting while she did such intricate work. Her mehndi stained dark and smelled really nice. She takes real pride in her work and her products. Nira is one of the most amazing henna artist you will find in the New York City area. She truly is an artist and a professional. She creates works of art that only a visionary could create. She has such a heart of gold and is accommodating for any occasion at any capacity. With all her talent, she is still priced well within the value of her work. The best part out of my entire experience was the quality of her henna. She makes her own fresh batches before appointments. No dyes. No chemical smell. No skin irritations. I initially contacted her for traditional Eid henna and ended up trying her black jagua henna; I was not disappointed!! You can barely spot the difference between the before and after photos. They were taken a week apart! Absolutely recommending her and definitely going back! read more

Nira was amazing!!!! She is an incredible authentic henna artist. I am so happy with how me and my sister's henna came out. She makes her own henna too! That's why it smells so good and everything is organic. I was worried about the black henna because I've heard of severe allergic reactions. She told me everything is plant based she makes it herself. OMG the quality, the smell is amazing because she puts her own essential oils. The stain is nice and dark. (I had people ask if it hurt, thinking it was a tattoo) The intricacies of her designs are flawless. I wanted something on my hands so people have something to look at when I bartender instead of nails (health code violation). Nira, herself is such a wonderful person! We arrived late and stayed later than expected, she was so accommodating. So sweet and loved conversing with her. Amazing customer service. Amazing art. I will be back for a bigger piece. Love some henna for the summer! :) read more

I loved creating a custom design together. I will be coming back for more! Thank you so much Nira! read more

I got my wedding mehndi done by Nira in September, and I'm so glad I did! She works from home, and parking is a bit difficult in the area, but her work is worth it! I got my palms and feet done and was worried that it wouldn't be dark enough for my wedding the following day, but her lemon sugar solution worked wonders! Nira is friendly, flexible, and has reasonable rates. I would highly recommend her! read more

Nira is really on to something here. I first met with Nira last August to receive some Black Henna for a trip that I was taking. Being a white male, I didn't have too many examples to look at but I trusted Nira and her dexterous hands as she crafted a beautiful work of art on my back/shoulder. One year later (a few weeks ago), I returned to Nira for my second experiment with Black Henna. All I can say is WOW, with a year of additional experience, not only has she become a more skilled Henna artist but she is even faster and more intricate. Anytime I desire to get a temporary tattoo, Nira will be my #1 choice. Super friendly, humorous and skilled; Nira is a Henna rockstar!!! A+++, highly recommended read more

So this is how my Henna tattoo journey started.. I decided to get one because I have few events this weekend and I end up going to a place that made a mess on my hand. I run out of that place Wash my hand like 100 times and right away Yelp for someone to fix it...... I'm so glad I found Nira she is truly an artist , her hand didn't shake and the lines were on point. She was able to cover up the mess I had before.... Thank God!!!! Her house wasn't easy to find but is worth looking for it lol. She told me that she goes to customer houses as well, pretty cool... I'm planning to use her services in the future, I will definitely recommend Nira for Henna tattoos.... I will be posting more picture after 2 or 3 days for final results... Posted final results after 3 days, looks pretty good. I got a lot of compliments from ppl. :) read more

So my first time with Nira will definitely not be the last time! She is super sweet and knows what she's doing! I showed her some designs and she knew exactly how to incorporate each one into one design. She used Jagua on me because I'm not a big fan of the henna once it turns orange but I am in LOVE right now with the pigment and overall color and design! One of the most most genuine and talented ladies around. Created my bridal mehndi and also did some designs on my mom and sisters hands. It took me a while to write this review but let me just tell you this: Nira is and forever will be the best vendor I worked with for my AMAZING two day Indian wedding. We worked with Nira for both my own bridal henna, and also hired Nira to perform henna on all my wedding guests at my Mendhi party! To start with me- my experience with Nira was so special, personal, and 10/10 perfect. My henna came out even more beautiful than I anticipated. For my guests- everyone loved Nira. There's nothing not to love. Everyone felt comfortable working with her and they couldn't rave enough about their gorgeous henna. We also bought specially designed cookies from Nira. Many guests including myself still crave her cookies. We event bought more cookies for my sisters baby shower! They're that yummy. In sum, I would relive my wedding over and over again just to have the experience working with Nira. She is the best NY henna artist!!! read more

soooooooo much love for Nira! when my cousin got married in August, she hired Nira to come to our home for a henna party. originally they had agreed that the bride and the bridal party would be receiving henna and that she would be there for a couple of hours. when all of our aunties decided they wanted henna too, Nira stayed for basically the whole party (charging her regular rate for each additional hour) and did consistently beautiful work on every single woman who asked it of her. she ended up doing small to medium pieces on almost twenty people in about four hours, including the bride's much larger thigh piece. we all loved having her there so much and it truly felt like she was not just a guest at the party but a member of the family as well. she was so much fun and such a great conversationalist, and it was a pleasure to host her in our home. when i realized my cousin hadn't written a review, i had to do it myself. read more
