I fell in love with Monita's designs as soon as I came across her page. She is extremely talented with exceptionally intricate and breathtaking designs. Monita arrived on time and ready to work! She finished my bridal henna in a timeframe shorter than expected. She took into consideration my design ideas and requests and created such a beautiful piece that I obsessed over! I followed all of her after care instructions which resulted in a beautiful stain! Would highly recommend over and over again!

I found Monita on Instagram long before I was planning my wedding. I loved her modern designs and the personal touches that she gave to each bride. I saved her profile and knew I could use no one else other than her for my own wedding one day. Monita is a consummate professional. She's responsive, punctual, and professional. Her designs are beautiful, she is undoubtedly talented. Even though my bridal henna took 4-5 hours, I wasn't bored at all. Watching her work is mesmerizing. I absolutely loved the final product of my henna, and I got many compliments on it. Her designs told our story, and it also had elements that tied in so well with my bridal lehenga. It was a pleasure working with Monita. Having had a bad reaction to artificial/chemical henna before I was very particular with wanting natural henna for my bridal mehndi. When I came across Monita on Instagram I knew she was the henna artist I wanted to work with. She is very easy to work with and truly made my bridal mehndi vision come to life. She is THE most amazing menhdi artist. I first discovered her through my friend in 2017, from that day I knew she would be my mendhi artist when I would get married. I also got my engagement henna done from her. She is very accommodating to whatever you want to incorporate in your design and will also help you with recommendations if needed. I had a very interesting experience with Monita. First of all, let me say she is talented, no doubt. But there is more to a service than just that. I was running about 5-10 minutes late the morning she came to do my Bridal henna. I had alerted my parents I was in a bit of a traffic and to keep her comfortable. But unbeknownst to me, Monita injured herself prior to this and was not in the best mood. Long story short, when I arrived she was unpleasant and dismissive for a while. She snickered about the fact that I requested little clues for my Husband to find in my henna design and said "thats too much, there's no space." Not true, I saw your portfolio, there is space. Anyway, it took her a good 3 hours to make small talk with me and be nice. After she was done, everyone at my house praised her but she merely gave a half smile and asked for her money and left. When I asked her about how long it would take to get darker the next day she wasn't responsive at all. I don't think it's right to be dismissive to a client who is paying top dollar for your services, everything works through word of mouth and bedside manner and professionalism is mandatory no matter the circumstance. read more

Monita is my savior. A little background: on the day of your wedding, the darker the stain of the henna, the more your husband loves you (or some variation of this myth). Basically the darker the henna, the better. I had mine applied on a Wednesday night, and when I woke up Thursday it was a super light stain. Now any other time I've had henna, I would have a super dark stain after letting the henna stay on for 2 hours. So I woke up, and was in full panic mode on Thursday. I wasn't really a bridezilla, I was a little too lax for my own good, but when my henna didn't come out as planned I was a little hysterical. We made one phone call to Monita, and she had us at her studio within the hour. Now applying henna is a tedious, intricate and time consuming affair as is. However she had to trace over a design I already had on my arms/legs which to me seems like it's actually harder. I am forever grateful for her help and would highly recommend her to anyone and everyone. Thank you for saving me from losing my mind before my wedding. Oh and FYI, the stain from her henna was super dark and pretty- it was exactly what I had originally wanted!!! read more

Hands-down the best artist in the United States!! The best thing about my wedding prep was going to monita - i went with my sister to her home and she applied henna in her basement, a very clean and spacious place where i was soo grateful to be as this was my only time to relax before the wedding events started. Monita is detail orientated and talented - and her henna stains like no other! I also want to add that i am a tall girl so what would have taken 5 hours on a person with smaller hands and feet took about +2-3 hours on mine and Monita did not charge me an extra penny from the package i chose prior. Shes amazing - very much booked in advance and hopefully i can come back to her to do henna for the future. Since moving to a different state - i can honestly say I'm spoiled by how good Monita is that every other henna artist seems below average or just average. read more

I recently had my wedding henna done by Monita, and she is amazing! She came all the way to PA for my henna party, and did my arms up to my elbow, and my feet, and it only took her 3.5 hours (she has been doing this for over a decade!). The henna work was intricate and beautiful. Her henna is all natural, and gets super dark. She also stayed for 3 hours after that to do henna for over 20 people. She did freestyle henna for people who didn't know what they want, but was also able to incorporate ideas of what some others wanted. It is not easy to find a good henna artist, so I am very glad I was able to get Monita to do my bridal henna. Everyone who attended, across all age ranges, was in awe of her work. She also gave me clove oil to apply to take off the henna the next day. She will certainly be my first choice for any henna party! I am surprised Monita doesn't have more Yelp reviews since she is so good at what she does, but check out her Instagram page @hennaforallny - she has a lot of pictures there and that's how I found her! read more

When questioned they said they gave me organic tint where in regular i get the regular one. The owner was arguing with me when I said that my regular girl know what I do but she said its not that they all knows what need to be done. Then why did this girl gave me a expensive product with out explaining to me. So be careful when you sit on that chair and dont know what they will will charge you. Today was my last visit to this place. If you dont care about your customer then dont ask for reference also.

At the appt I was very comfortable and we talked a bit about how she started doing henna when she was younger as it is part of her culture. I picked a photo from off her profile and asked to have it recreated. I decided to use jagua (which is till all natural plant but a different substance altogether than henna- jagua is NOT black henna) because I am darker and prefer the jagua stain on my skin color. I struggled with writing this review for a couple of months…read more 1) Yelp has this notification or message to please accommodate businesses during COVID. 2) Yelp also sends another message to look at and like/ acknowledge other reviews by other consumers for the same establishment. I did not read the 3 recent Yelp reviews from other customers who had really bad experiences with this Salon. Deepika - " poor and rude customer service", chasing down a nine month pregnant woman. Shreya " ruined, destroyed". Jaswinder " sheer waste of money" These are words from their reviews. My mother knows the owners for 40 years and meets them on a regular basis at parties, lunches, card games and get togethers. My mother is blind in her right eye. Her vision and perception are hence hindered. I drove her to the salon for her cut n color appointment with the owner Nina L. Nina had her daughter Evina handle it. The other owner/partner Vineet's father, manager and front desk counter person Mr Darshan ( goes by Deekay) N was very polite and welcoming. I was told to come back after 90 minutes which I did. He told me not to forget her winter cap as it was really cold. Very considerate. It took about two hours. I paid the $94 in cash ( Yelp 10 percent discount so $105 total minus the $11, plus a $33 cash tip plus a box of Lindt truffles that I had picked up in Switzerland). Got home and then actually looked at her head carefully. She had been butchered. ( see both photos). Her scalp was showing.The hair was cut way too short. The color was lighter than she requested and normally got. I took photos. I went back with the photos 2 days later. When I mentioned the issues, the really nice Manager Mr N ( owner Vineet's father) snapped, I mean yelled at me" What are you showing me this for ? I am not the aesthetician.". I politely asked for Nina L. She got flustered and denied everything. " Her hair was already like this". " This is what your mother wanted" etc. It took every ounce, every fiber of self control in my being not to say anything, not to react! I waited and stood there and she eventually did say, " I am sorry!". I responded " Is that it?" She then stated " Oh ok, I will fix it!", then turned and walked away. I counted to ten, smiled, waved and walked out. We did not go back, even for the free fix it.

She told me I should get the henna done the day before my birthday so it can look its best on my special day and quoted me a VERY reasonable price. Fatema is amazing! She's super fast, informative and sweet. She did my design in less than 10 minutes and explained to me how henna works. Apparently your body temperature has a lot to do with the final result. She made me put on my coat and (tons) of layers before she started. And when she was done, she put lemon juice all over it so it can come out bright orange. Fatema even let me sit in her home for nearly 20 minutes to let the paste dry -- and offered me grapes! Definitely going back to her again and I've already recommended her to a friend of mine who's marrying a Guyanese man in the near future.

It was an amazing experience working with Monita for my wedding in February. She brought all my visions to life. I had sent her pictures of designs and had asked her to include specific items in each hand. She exceed my expectations. I originally met Monita through my sister in law and other family friends who were her previous brides. I have heard only amazing reviews from them and see her work many times. She is one of the best! I knew I had to book her for my wedding. I had such a beautiful stain on my hand for all of my wedding events. I was nervous about my mehendi fading, since I had my mehendi ceremony on Tuesday and my reception on Saturday, but the stain remained dark and beautiful for all of my events. Where do I start? Am beyond happy to say I got Monita as my bridal henna artist for my wedding. It was a dream and it came true.
