Incredible service! Our dishwasher wasn't cleaning properly and from the (free) consultation David thought it was the heating element so we got that replaced. When the dishwasher still wasn't working properly, David was upfront and told us it was better to replace the dishwasher and refunded the entirety of the cost (both part and service!) for replacing the heating element. I had a new Samsung washer and dryer delivered from Costco. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the free installation Costco provided was just basic and did not include changing the exhaust of the dryer from the back to the side. The vent in my condo for the dryer is to the side and so the Costco installer just routed over four feet of ducting from the back of the dryer to the side vent which pushed the stacked washer and dryer to the front of the closet platform such that I could not reinstall the closet door. Its a first world problem, but that extra exhaust ducting probably reduces drying efficiency and increases the possibility of lint capture within it. I have a working washer and dryer but I can't reinstall the closet door to hide my washer/dryer from the rest of the bathroom where it is located. So I ordered a Samsung side vent kit from Amazon and used Yelp to find MegaFix to install it. Also, I wanted to change the cheap rubber hoses Costco provided for new metal braided hoses I got from the Home Depot. Of the 3 contractors Yelp sent my request to on a Sunday night, only MegaFix offered to come to install the kit the next day. David gave me a price of $250 over messaging because I asked for an estimate. He came as promised on the set time of 2 pm and although it took him over 2 hours working in the confined space of my bathroom where the closet for the washer/dryer was, he got the job done. No BS - I had a truly great experience with MegaFix -- truly impressed by their responsiveness, fair pricing, and quality of service. My dryer had been making a squeaking noise, so I looked for an appliance repair service on Yelp. I initially contacted another company I'd used before, and as usual, Yelp sent out auto-requests to a few others. I normally don't expect much from those, but this time, I got lucky -- I found a gem. David responded within 15 minutes and quickly scheduled a FREE diagnostic visit at the time I wanted. He arrived on time, diagnosed the problem right away, provided a clear estimate, and was able to fix the issue on the spot. These days, it's rare to find service companies in the Bay Area that are both honest and reasonably priced. Many charge $85-$95 just to check the issue (which will roll over the price you pay if you use them to repair), then quote outrageous repair costs -- sometimes five or six times the actual price of a part. (I've had companies try to charge $150 for a $20 part, plus at least $200-$300 for labor, WTH!) David was refreshingly different. He offered a fair, reasonable price and even went the extra mile by cleaning out a large amount of lint from my dryer exhaust. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping his customers, not just making a sale. I really appreciate his honesty and professionalism. MegaFix (David) went above and beyond to provide QUALITY WORK and had the BEST PRICING! I had created a "project" on Yelp to fix my broken LG washer and David was the first to respond. Based on the details I provided, his preliminary diagnosis was that I had broken drainage pump. He gave me a quote to replace the OEM pump, but I wanted to hold off on booking him to come over so that I could get other quotes. After receiving quotes from 5 other highly rated appliance repair options, David's original quote had the best pricing. He was also able to come by in the shortest amount of time too! We had the bad luck of having a power outage (thanks a lot PG&E) at the exact time of our appointment. This didn't phase David at all. He was prepared with his head lamp and quickly made the fix!
