They gave me ballpark costs and estimates for what the issue might be, up to $638 for a full icemaker package replacement. They ended up diagnosing a freon leak and fixing it for $240 (waiving the $65 diagnostic fee). They cleaned some valves and suggested that I wouldn't have any ice maker issues if I vacuumed my fridge coils and cleaned out the ice maker drip valves every few years. So, they fixed the ice maker too for no extra. The repairman explained everything carefully. Since it was a freon leak issue he didn't have to get any parts. He was fully prepared. Apparently Samsung refrigerators are prone to freon leaks when they're 7-12 years old. I'd definitely trust them for future appliance repairs.
