Came 1/2 hr early for a 3PM bus. We were just told (at 3:15PM by a Megabus employee) that the bus would be a full one hour late. There are about 30 of us standing in 90deg+ heat w/o shade. You can judge for yourself if the cheap ticket is worth the potential hassle and sunburn. Edit: 1 hr later and our bus has arrived... but apparently OUR driver hasn't (we are told that the guy who dropped off the bus is not our driver). We are also told that no one can get on the bus until the new driver arrives. I feel bad for the older passengers and the younger kids waiting in the sun inhaling exhaust fumes from the idling bus. Really terrible, terrible service. Unbelievably bad, actually. Edit 2: I have determined that Megabus may be a risk factor for cancer. It's 4:30 and we're finally getting underway. Most of us stood in the sun for two hours (carcinogenic) inhaling car exhaust (also carcinogenic). If it worked as advertised Megabus would be OK. But this doesn't seem worth it. I'm taking Amtrak next time. read more

On the bus right now heading back to sf. This was a roundtrip for $10.50 total. I went from sf to sac, sac to sf. The key to getting a supercheap price is plan early, and check the rates often (because like airline tickets i notice the rates can change daily) etc. Even if you dont get it for $10, avg round trip price for sac-sf seems about $20+, which is still good in my opinion because: *you dont have to drive! As regular weekend sf-sac commuter this is great not having to pay attention to the road and traffic *save money. Toll is already $6 each way now so $12which is half the cost of your bus ticket, plus the cost of gas. My car is a guzzler so this works for me. *the megabus is a tour bus. 2 levels, huge windows, the top level has windows across the ceiling *free wifi *power outlets *restroom on board *seatbelts (never seen seatbelts on a bus before) =safe *comfortable seats, they can recline *clean *responsible, friendly, and helpful drivers For my trip, all the passengers were respectuful, quiet, mind their business. Definitely worth a try. read more

Zero stars. Horrible! Avoid! Traveling from OAK to LA and after waiting for 45 mins with no bus in sight, called CS only to be told they have no real idea where the bus is or when it would arrive. The "CS Manager" whom I could barely understand, just hung up on me. How ridiculous! Mind you we were outside in 30 degree weather. Save yourself the headache and steer clear! read more

So yesterday was my first trip with this company. We got on tg bus on time, then had a 20 min delay due to an air conditioner leak. (Was taking the bus from sac to Reno) got about an hr into the trip when the bus started making noise and we had to pull over. They had to send us another bus bc the alternator belt SHREDDED. We had to wait almost 2 hours for the second bus. We had to WALK from the bus up a hill to a store to wait. Then we got on bus 2 and IT broke down before we could leave! Got bus 1 fixed & loaded back on there. Needless to say our 11:00-1:40pm trip turned into an 11:30-5pm trip. We were refunded for the inconvenience but that's it. read more

Horrible customer service. Making any changes on a reservation like changing your seat, you forfeit your original reservation minus extra re-booking fees. Basically ended up paying twice for simply wanting to change my seat and ended up in a worse seat. read more

They've left me early several times, leaving before the assigned time. One time I was coming home from sf to sac, and after checking in and leaving my stuff on my seat I exited the bus to say goodbye to my girlfriend. When I got back on at 8:59 to leave at 9:00, the bus driver tried to not let me on, raised his voice, and said that I was unbelievable. Hey mr. Megabus driver, your mom is unbelievable. :) read more

I love megabus! I've gone back and fourth from San Fran to Sac and every time has been pretty nice. It can get cold on the bus because of the A/C so I suggest bringing a sweater just in case. It's quiet on the bus, but headphones are always nice. Peeing in a clean port-o-potty that is moving at 70 MPH is always going to be an experience, lucky for me it was a pretty weird/fun one. It's pretty clean but HANG ON TO THE BAR! The bus driver is pretty cool and the guy who packs people's bags in SF is pretty great. HAVE FUN! read more

Price: 5/5 Length of trip: 4/5 (got to each location ahead of schedule) Experience (seating): 3.5/5 My son had a workshop to attend in SF. I do not like driving as it is, so any excuse/or pass to NOT drive to the city, sign me up! I decided to try out Megabus. Roundtrip for the both of us $25: SCORE! If I decide to try them again I will upgrade to a table seat so we can spread out a bit. The only down side was the spotty Wi-Fi! Well, non-existent Wi-Fi, not sure why but my device would not accept logging on to their Wi-Fi. The most frustrating part of the ride was being stuck on the way there behind a girl with cheap headphones AND then stuck on the way home sitting 4 seats away from a guy with even CHEAPER headphones! I wanted to relax and not have to listen to people's crappy music feedback because they cant invest in a decent sound reducing set of headphones. Oh, well...for $25 SMF to SF and back: no gas, no tolls, no traffic, no parking...no complaints, right?? read more

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I had to cancel my round trip. If you didn't know it, Megabus does not offer a refund at all. You can change your trip (and pay extra fees), but you cannot simply cancel the trip and get a refund. This is a poor business practice as they just keep your money and do not provide you any service. This policy must be changed. read more

I will keep this short, sweet, and to the point. Trip Details: -Las Vegas to Los Angeles (one way) -4/5/15 @ 3:15pm -$36 (I added a table seat for $10ish) Customer Service: The man checking reservations and giving out seat numbers was very rude and unfriendly. No hello, smile, or anything to make me feel like a valued customer. His responses to my questions were very short and unhelpful. The driver was friendly and at least said hello. WiFi: What wifi? The website and the bus boasts "free wife", but it is TERRIBLE!! I would describe it as spotty at best. Megabus really needs to rectify this. I planned on getting a lot of school work finished, but I maybe got 30 mins total WI fi out of a 6 hour trip. Very frustrating! The trip: The drive went smooth except for a slight delay, we had to pull over because of a "loss of power". It took about 15 mins to get going again. But it was a bit nerve racking. It was quiet on the bus, I suggest noise canceling head phones. There was a toilet on the bus which was nice. Wrap up: Please megabus, fix the wifi situation and hire employees with customer service skills. after this trip I will most likely look for other options. If you are looking for a cheap transport, megabus is probably the best choice. Just don't expect much. read more

Enduring terrible lack of customer service with megabus.com I bought a ticket last night for a trip to San Francisco today. I got a reference number, but no email with the ticket number. I emailed the payment office as outlined, both last night and this morning, with no reply. I called Megabus and they said they can't issue a ticket, and it will take 3-5 days to hear back via email. I drove to the bus stop where there is no parking provided. Finally found a spot and hurried to the bus stop. The driver heard my situation and said, just call Megabus. They won't give you any hassle. I talked first with Peter. He told me over and over that I'll have to wait 3-5 days to hear back. He offers to sell me a new ticket. I tell him my bank statement shows that Megabus already charged me TWICE for this trip. I'm not paying for a new one. I'm already on the bus and I've already paid. I ask to speak to a manager. I'm disconnected from the call. I call back and explain everything again. I'm transferred to the manager who explains what she has heard about my situation and says they can do nothing but sell me a new ticket. I'm so frustrated. I have to deal with this all again tonight in my way Home. The bus itself is fine, and the driver is great. But the lack of parking, and the inability to address customer problems in a timely manner is unacceptable. read more

I bought the ticket to SF at 6 a.m. I but the bus didn't pick us up..What happened? Didn't have any notification!!!

I had heard good things about Megabus. Maybe I caught a bad time. First, catching the 3 pm bus from SF was brutal. We learned that you have to be in line almost an hour early to get good seats. I was with an elder, so this was important. The stop is in an unsheltered, unshaded zone that is a FAR walk down the block of you have stuff to carry (we did). We all waited, sweating in the hot sun, and were not allowed on the bus while the driver took a break. Finally a new driver came and checked us in. We were told to sit anywhere. Finally! We got good seats a couple rows back. We waited (with no A/C) as the bus loaded. Which took forever, because there seemed to be a lot of discussion about tickets going on with many people. It was totally packed and hard to breathe. The departure time came and went. Suddenly the driver reappeared and declared that the first 10 rows were reserved and that she had a passenger that needed to be seated in them. First we heard of it. She pointed straight at me and said "YOU need to go find a seat at the back of the bus." Now, the fact that I am a non-white activist did make me feel a little weird about that, but I don't fault her for my own feelings of historic trauma. A lot of people around me were not white, and I did not get a racist vibe from her per se. However, I was with an indigenous elder who has health challenges, and was listed as his caregiver on my ticket. And we had been told we could sit anywhere. I said so, and her response was "sorry, this is a new thing, you need to move." So after an hour of standing in the hot sun with an elderly person and not even a bench, I had to leave the elder I was with to take care of himself and take the very last seat on the bus, next to the bathroom - it was hot and bumpy and didn't smell great. But, whatever. I figured I would try to get some work done. But the a/c outlets were on the side of the window seat. To run my cord I had to go right across the other passenger, who was fortunately nice (!!). WHY did I think the wi-fi would actually work? I guess it was all those ads. When we bought the ticket, on the side of the bus, everywhere. It didn't. I ended up using my phone as a hotspot. So was everyone else, so it was pretty crowded. One person had named their network name, "YELLFUCKMEGABUSFORPASSWORD". The ride was long, hot, and pretty bumpy. Apparently they sometimes use larger 2-story busses that are more comfortable, but this was not one of them. I think the thing that bothered me more than anything is, when we arrived in Sacramento and disembarked, the elder I had been with needed to use the bathroom. He was not allowed to go back on the bus and we were told that "there was an announcement, everyone was told." Well, he didn't hear, and his caregiver was sent to the back of the bus for the whole ride. Which the driver knew. I asked where there was a bathroom in the terminal. She said (rather irritably) that she didn't know. The kupuna I was with tried to search himself. I could not go with him because I had all the luggage. He couldn't find it. Came back and asked again. There was another driver there now. Neither one knew (or tried to help). He ended up peeing behind a trailer. All that being said, we did make it to Sacramento for a relatively decent price, and are grateful for that. But will look for other options going back. read more

Megabus - On way to SF! - Transportation Near Me

I rode the very first Megabus to go from Reno, Nevada to San Francisco California last year and I thought it was amazing. The schedule was perfect. Leaving Reno early in the morning getting to the big city early afternoon PERFECT. And the price was also amazing. So much cheaper and cleaner than Greyhound. The drivers were friendly and it was a great ride. Sitting up on top in front you get a wonderful view if you like to take photographs and we do! Just as good as if you were on a luxury bus tour!.. However a year later and the schedule change is horrible. Leave in the afternoon from Reno get to San Francisco in the night after dark... very unsafe. And only one bus per day! I have taken my grandchildren and daughter on this trip a number of times, it was an affordable vacation as I don't make a lot of money and we went at least once or twice a year. We all looked forward to it. Well now the bus drivers are very rude, the bus bathroom is filthy, and the price per person is horrendous! Not to mention the shitty schedule change. I am wondering what happened MegaBus? What happened to this mode of transportation for those who don't drive and who really loved your service? How sad that some big wig no doubt ruined it,,, we won't be riding it again,, unfortunately............ Wendy Flippo-Sparks, Nevada read more

My husband and I took Megabus for the first time today from San Francisco to Sacramento. Fare was booked online the day before for $10 each person. Much cheaper than Greyhound or Amtrak. The departure time is 12:30. Word of advice. Get there early, like 30 minutes early. The line has already formed and we were about the 6th and 7th person in line. The bus driver started to let us board around 12:10, which was much appreciated because it was boiling hot in the sun. We got to pick our seats downstairs. The bus began to fill up really fast and soon enough it was all full. The bus left a little before 12:30. I'm not sure if it's because it was already at full capacity or if they will normally leave a bit earlier. So make sure you get there 1/2 hour before your designated departure time! The seats are a bit cramped. We sat at the non reserved table and I couldn't cross my legs. I periodically bump into the other party's legs. There is absolutely no room to put your bag below your legs. It will have to go on your lap. Overall, the ride was smooth other than the normal Friday traffic in the same bottlenecks at Fairfield, etc. The other piece of advice I would give you is bring your headphones!! I didn't and I regretted the minute these two college Indian girls sat behind us. They were super obnoxious and LOUD. They talked and yakked until another passenger told them to stop being so loud and to use their "inside" voice. Reminds me of grade school. She must be a teacher. Most of us agreed with her. The girls continued to talk for two hours straight even with lowered voices. Passengers' unpleasant behaviour is a hit or miss so I can't fault Megabus on this. The bus exited the freeway and approached the bus stop immediately. It took 2 hours exactly and arrived around 2:35. That would mean the bus is around 15 minutes late for the Sacramento departure. I guess that is what the other Yelpers are complaining about. I would take the Megabus again. read more

So Megabus is now Flixbus. When other bus companies are cancelling schedules everyday. Having you stranded in Reno for several days. Flixbus is available in the same direction. It is undeniable that the fare is extremely cheap. The $1 rates are actually real. I've booked two already and with fees etc it comes to a total of $2.50 from Sacramento to San Francisco!! However, the bus that I was in happened to break down half way through. How does one get compensated for time lost when the ride was only $2.50 it seems ridiculous to even ask for a refund! Book in advanced and with time to spare! The team was actually able to dispatch a backup bus almost immediately, I was surprise with the response considering we were an hour into the trip and took the bus 1hr and 20min after the distress call was made. Now to the quick and dirty... I booked a trip to LA departing from SF and the bathroom was dirty and out of toilet paper. I can not comprehend how a trip that will be over 12 hours not have enough toilet paper. read more

Mega bus is a pretty cool bus. This doubler decker features a skylit roof and comfy chairs. Their are a few sections with tables, but get their early cause they go fast. All seats are equipped with 2 plugs. Nothing too fancy, but all you need to keep your gadgets charged and get you to where you want to be. For a round trip from Sacramento to San Francisco, it cost me $23. That's usually how much a day of parking cost in Union Square. Pretty reasonably priced, it's usually even cheaper... I went on Memorial Day weekend. It's kind of nice to sit back, relax, and have somebody else do the driving. The wi-fi is not so good. It kept cutting in and out for me. Anywho, feel free to check it out yourself, cause there may be a megabus service somewhere close to you... read more

Not except international size of language?! It happened me first time in the bus that they would measured the luggage and in the end told me that it 1,5 inch bigger = they call it "international size" and it is not allowed in Megabus, which is ridiculous! A friend and I took the MegaBus from Sacramento to San Francisco last summer for a SF Giants game. It was a great experience and as far as I am concerned it is the only way to travel if you're going to Giants game. The bus was clean, comfortable and most importantly ON TIME. We arrived at the bus stop early to make sure we could park close by. It worked out perfectly. The bus was full of Giants fans and even a few Dodgers fans. The driver was very friendly and drove the bus well through the streets of San Francisco. We gave her a nice tip on the return trip home. I will definitely use MegaBus future trips to SF and encourage others to do the same. read more

when i am feeling adventurous i always just hop on to the mega bus and go where ever i need to go to get out of sac. most of the time i go to sf on this bus. this is how it works, the bus will leave at that exact time on the itinerary and will not wait. they could be on time or early but they won't leave till the time printed usually. i have always had a nice ride and they don't make stops for sf or Reno trips they just take your straight to where you printed at. the pick up and drop off spot is the same where ever they let you off. inside the bus they have plenty of leg rooms for you. i am not tall but i have read previous yelpers who are over six foot and their knees don't rub against the chairs in front of them like usual bus. they also have chargers for your phone or electronic supplies just remember to bring your charging accessories including the outlet plugs since they don't have usb plugs. the have reading lights above each seat. they do have a restroom for you to go potty. the have upper level with a nice view. also the lower level with 2 tables with 4 chairs but they now charge for you to sit on it. now the price, its a seafood price, they can be low when you book the trip ahead of time, sometimes booking last minute could result in sold out or more expensive than before. i have wanted to book ahead of time for my trip but then i wasn't sure so i waited and guess what it went up 10 bucks. one time i wanted to go to a trip and i waited an hr later to purchase and man it went up 5 bucks which the price can jump around but won't decrease. fyi. i have had trips to sf on a weekday as low as 6 bucks. sometimes you can catch their 1 dollar special as eel just need to be way in advanced. i have rode 1 dollar each way and to reno and the surcharge of 1.50 which is mandatory for each trip and it came out only 3.50 so i did save a lot. next is the people there can be polite, quiet, kind of people or the loud ones and talk and yell across to talk which did happen once during my reno trip. i also have seen some already drunk at 9am on the bus to wherever they need to go. anyways we do get a mixture of crowd. most of my trips were the quiet and polite ones but have rode with the loud ones before on one trip. the loud talking ones usually sit near the back and the front is the quiet ones. overall mega bus is my way to get around to places for an affordable price. hope you enjoy my review. and have a nice day and stay positive and thanks for your time and don't forget to vote useful or funny or cool. happy yelping! read more

I heart this 40 foot land yatch. It's like Relaxi-Taxi but with seat sharing. An enclosed double decker bus with built in wifi and outlets for your social media lifeline. Seats are lined in pairs and a table for four on the base floor. Seat belts are included. Included in this ride is an on board mobile outhouse with the new outhouse smell. Dpn't want the smell, com early and camp out. The seats on the ground floor slide and stack for ADA compliance for a wheelchair person. Your driver is very professional and courteous. The ticket can be purchased online only. The east Sac location is the only pickup/drop off that is shared with Regional Transit and Light Rail. Once purchased, you will receive an email and text reminder as a boarding number is issued to you. There is a smart phone app to help locate your bus' most recent location. From Sacramento, Megabus offers a few choices for out of town. You can either opt for Reno or San Francisco. From these spots, you can catch the long distance trips to other spots. Fare is pretty reasonable as they range a few dollars apart depending on the time of your journey. Our trip to Sf cost us $11pp and $8pp returning, last minute. Still cheaper if you round out gas, toll, and stress. This is coach so no reserve seating. We lined up at 9am and there was already about 25 riders in line. The ride was late almost an hour due to unknown circumstances and then there was a delay from a wheelchaired individual that probably bought a regular ticket and not the wheelchair accessed ticket. The seats were slid/stacked to accommodate him but 4 people were still out seats. The situation was quickly resolved and we were on our way. While on board, I spied a ticket from SF to LA for only $10 on the app. If you are a chatty Cathy, then you will feel right at home getting to know those around your world. If not, then retreat into your antisocial stance and slide in your ear buds and tweet away. The Wifi, although free isn't designed for streaming video so don't go all hangry when you can't watch a movie or concert in route to your destination. You are allowed to bring your own snacks and drinks along, but no alcohol. Carry on can slide under your narrow seat or else it goes into the luggage compartment another staff that waits at the stop will assist you with. Destination is a semi bus depot inline with the Metro Bus hub. Be sure to piddle before the final destination as you might not get to one for a few blocks. But you say my bus was late an hour and that doesn't justify you spending $20 for a round trip ticket? I reply that I spend 5 times that amount at the airport, one way and have to show up 2 hours earlier. So whatever your travel needs and final destination, it's not about the destination but the trip. Make the most of it. Every once in awhile, there are coupons or specials through their site or email. read more

Megabus is like that plucky kid who made it against all odds. Megabus is like Wilbur from Charlotte's web, a seeming runt of all the options that grew up to be one of a kind. Megabus is like Richard Sherman, constantly changing and defying stereotypes. Megabus takes a bus business model that has every opportunity to be sketchy, dirty, expensive, and unpleasant, then turns it into something great. How? -Magically doesn't matter how delayed or not the departure is, arrives at destination +/- 5 minutes every time -Glass top 2nd floor to look up at the sky and buildings -Shockingly clean buses, it's actually incredible. Especially if you just transferred from the BART *shudder* -Wi-Fi that's adequate -Power outlets, extremely important to keep that phone charged or that movie playing -Friendly drivers with a sense of humor "Gentleman, the trash can on the wall of the restroom might look like a urinal, but it is not. Do not pee in my trash can, please." "I will be playing some relaxing music on the intercom, does this bother anyone? Really? Is everyone mute? Okay, well enjoy." "Men, try to be careful. I understand that it might be hard to aim when we're bumpin' around, but just try. I mean, it's a pretty big target right?" "Once that lady who is a-twerka-twerkin' in the middle of the road moves, we will depart" Now, not everything is perfect. It's certainly slower and less convenient than driving or catching a ride with nice friends. But if you don't have a car or just don't feel like driving, Megabus is hard to beat. read more

When I first started riding the megabus around 2013 (from Sacramento to San Francisco), it was very nice. They had the double decker buses, the price was only $1.00 one way and the ride was very pleasant and relaxing. About a week ago, I decided to take the megabus again to S.F. from Sacto and I was very disappointed. First, the price went up to $14.00 one way. Second, they were not using the double decker buses. Instead they were using some bus that I've seen local high schools use to take their students on field trips. So the trip was not as relaxing i.e. smaller aisles and more congestion. I won't be using the megabus anymore if they continue to use these buses from Sacramento to San Francisco. I would rather pay a few dollars extra and take the Amtrak. read more

Megabus has been a clean, well run, low cost, direct route between Sacramento and San Francisco for almost 7 years. The bus loaded at a convenient spot near Sacramento State, next to a light rail station. Now, the Sacramento departure and arrival spot has been moved to a spot on 6th Street between W and X Streets, a filthy and dangerous area where homeless and drug addicts are prevalent. I am disappointed by this misguided change and will no longer be a customer of Megabus. Riders beware of any routes that are not mid-day! read more

I took the Megabus from Sacramento to Reno, Nevada like 2 weeks ago for first time. Wow it's the absolute best way to get to Reno. I went up to Reno for Bellator MMA so only went for an over nighter. Left friday morning from Sacramento and everything went really smooth. Only problem was that we didn't get an actual megabus. We got like a regular greyhound type of bus(mega broke down) but that wasn't an issue. Bus ride was super smooth and quick up to reno. I was shocked that it was only like 2 and a half hours. Thought for sure it would be like 4 or something. They drop you off at the silver legacy downtown which is perfect!! As long as you are staying downtown(circus circus, siena, silver legacy, el dorado, harrahs etc..) then you can just walk to your hotel. Now if you are staying at Atlantis or peppermill then you will have to take like a cab or bus to your hotel I bet. Keep in mind I only paid like 15 bucks to go to reno and 3 dollars to come back LOL!!!! So had my fun on that friday and go back to silver legacy on saturday to take bus back to sacramento. Bus came on time and was smooth once again. MEGABUS to Reno is honestly the easiest way to get to Reno. No buying gas or any of that. Highly recommend megabus if you plan on spending most of your time in downtown reno. I do think the Sacramento Megabus should add more places though. I would love to see a Sacramento to Vegas or Sacramento to LA direct. Kinda hard to connect from sac to frisco to La to Vegas :/ If megabus adds those cities on.....they are gonna make a killing read more

Located in front of a shady warehouse next to the Light Rail Station. The only way you know its a Megabus stop is when you somewhat see a line of more than 5 people. Its hard to review this because no physical location/terminal exists as its just in a random parking lot off of the highway in East Sacramento. Nearby you have Subway, Starbucks, and Jamba Juice. The ride from Sac to SF is usually 1 hour 45 minutes and sometimes even less. The most I ever paid for a one way was $10 which isn't bad at all. read more

This is my second experience with megabus in general and while my first experience from Chicago to St. Louis and back was a little rough (Heater was broken in wintertime...burrr :( ), my recent trip from Sacramento to San Francisco was just wonderful! I took the 9am bus en route to San Francisco for the beautiful price of $9. Which was made even more awesome by the fact that we made it in about an hour 1/2 time. My return bus ride back to Sac was also just $9 and departed right as scheduled. The seats were comfortable and the complementary wifi is also an added bonus. All in all this is a great way to travel especially if you are on a budget. Recommend! read more

It is convenient to be in this bus when it comes to not dealing with traffic. BUT I have noticed from recent reservations that they "book out" with open seating and want you to pay extra for the front seats. So today I checked out to book further advanced and I can't cause they only allow scheduling right now until March! That's not helpful! On top of that most of the drivers are rude! They should get a different job if they are so unhappy! I miss the two story bus that Megabus originally had it was SO much more fun! Now I can't take friends on the same trip especially because of less space. Well, they lost money more now. read more

1st leg- We took this bus on two single way trips. We took the Sacto-Sparks route on a Sat morning (10am). Although it took some time to locate the bus stop (it was good we got there 30 min early). Ticket says bus was to leave at 10am but we left at 10;30am (since the driver had to let passengers off and allow more passengers on) but we did arrive 5 minutes earlier than stated time. The ride was super smooth and it was a beautiful ride from Sacto to Sparks, seeing all the snow capped mountains. There was absolutely no traffic and the driver never had to brake being it was a Sat morning ride. 2nd leg- We took the bus from Sparks to SF. This time the bus didn't arrive on time. They found the bus parked across from the stop, empty with no driver. There were about 30 ppl standing there up to an hour waiting. A few of us made calls to the customer service and the dispatcher had to call the driver. The driver must have forgotten about Daylight Savings time!! oops. Once he was located, he arrived (45 min late) and we were on our way. Unfortunately, we ran into alot of traffic in the mountains. Despite the bus leaving 45 min late and hitting monumental traffic, we managed to get back to SF only an hour 20 min late, which wasn't bad at all. It could have been worst. This was a Sunday afternoon ride. I would bring earplugs/head sets next time. We had a blabbermouth lady who spent the entire ride yakking on her cell phone. PROS- What i like about the bus is that they allow passengers to bring food/drinks on board. The ride was a long one and although I ate lunch right before boarding it helped to have some snacks, esp when the bus is delayed. I liked the upper deck, which I opted for both times. The 1st time i was in the front roll so it was nice to snap a few pics. Some ppl like the downstairs as i believe they have trays which make it really nice for reading. (the reading lights don't come on until 6-7pm) CONS- i wish that they had bicycle racks & also foot rests. Both would be so useful. read more

Great prices but the downfall is if you miss your bus or need to change the date. Megabus will not exchange your ticket nor refund you. Hope they change that rule soon. read more

IMegaBus Customer Review rates ZERO! My bus was CANCELLED ONE HOUR BEFORE DEPARTURE, NO REFUND! NO REFUND FOR RETURN LEG EITHER! Customer service is trained to tell you there is nothing they can do and there is noting their manger can do. They LITERALLY LEAVE YOU ON HOLD UNTIL YOU HANG UP. I have never dealt with such incompetence, it's only $22 but at this point it's the principal of the thing! read more

MegaBus delivered - again! We rode from Sacramento to Reno round trip. It's an easy, comfortable trip. In Sacramento it picks up at the 65th Street light rail station. Drops off in Reno at the Silver Legacy casino downtown. Very capable driver. On-board bathroom was clean. Arrived on schedule. Reasonable. They advertise prices as low as $1, but THAT I haven't seen. read more
