It was my sisters birthday and we met new friends on the boat (we booked late so not private but still awesome ). We brought snacks and canned drinks. This is the perfect girls day or birthday turn up. We did an afternoon and we all wanna do it again! I think the random mix of ppl was fun and worth it! This is one of my favorite activities in Sacramento for the summer! It's perfect for any birthdays, celebrations, or just hanging out with friends. The staff is so friendly, this is my second time going on this 90min ride. I love how it is family friendly, but also great for just adults. It's super fun to stop by the river bars as well. I highly recommend anyone visiting Sac or locals to check this activity! read more

Holy smokes what a phenomenal experience!!!! My son and I wanted to celebrate our birthday in a way we've not done it before and when I stumbled on this....there was no doubt about it..we were locking it in!!!!! Making reservations couldn't be any easier. You got onto their website. Find the boat you want (based on number of guests), pick a date and pay online. Easy peasy!!! Their FAQs answer pretty much any and all questions you may have. You are allowed to bring your own alcohol as long as it's canned. There is a parking garage nearby and street parking. It's super easy to get to. Just a hop and a skip off the freeway. We reserved a 2:30 time slot and you are on the water for 90 mins. As soon as you make your reservations you receive a copy of their waiver. Fill it out before heading over for efficient boarding. When we got down to the boat it had a big tiki roof, super festive. We were greeted by Captain John and his shipmate Sam. Both super nice and immediately made us feel super welcomed. They went through their mandatory list of short rules..and then told us to hook up the the speaker and off we went. It was a hot day but being on the water provided us a cool breeze and the tiki roof provided ample shade. Bar type seating and some seating at the bow of the boat. The boat we were in was totally motorized we didn't do any pedaling. There were no pedals on the bar seats. We were encouraged to wave at other boaters and we even got into water fights with super shakers provided by the company. We also got to stop at a neat bar tucked away for some more drinks. We chatted it up with Captain John who was a total hoot. He and Sam make the experience with their friendly personality and eagerness to make the most of our time. When I say this is an experience you should have...DONT QUESTION ME! There was 15 of us and we had a blast! They run these boats through to Halloween so jump on it or you'll need to wait until Spring. We will definitely do this again!!!!!! Also, TIP YOUR CAPTAIN AND HIS SHIPMATE OR ILL COME FOR YOU read more

This was such a fun and lovely excursion! The staff was great and we appreciated that they took our pictures too. It's a lovely ride and if you want they can stop by a bar on the way. We got to see ducks and feed them and towards the end there was a water fight with another boat (we opted out but it was fun to observe). You get to bring snacks and drinks and they have a cooler to put your drinks in. The tiki roof provides shade so you don't have to worry if it's hot. Honestly, it's a wonderful way to get out and relax and have fun. We definitely would do it again! read more

Really fun and entertaining! Went out on Memorial Day weekend and there was a lot of activity on the river which made it even more fun. I don't drink and was able to bring my own NA beverages and watch all the party people have a great time. read more

We booked our first Sac brew boat ride through the website. They offer different packages such as tiki boat and etc. You can choose based on your party preferences. Based on the reviews, you get to pedal 50% and boat is motorized as well. It was a interactive experience, we watched some seal lions, we went under the Sacramento River waterfront bridge and we watched as other chartered boats passed by. You can take beer and snacks on the boat I would say, perfect way to celebrate birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, team building or any group outings with friends/families. You have to sign the waiver online. It's fun place to hang out with friends and family. I went with my family on the sac brew boat during Mother's Day weekend. We stopped at virgin sturgeon for drinks and bathroom break. Our boat crews were super nice and friendly. You get to play music and dance on the boat. I would say, we didn't pedal at all. And there are not enough seats for everyone in the boat to pedal although it says for 16 people. The boat ride is 90 minutes and time goes by fast in the boat. We did mimosa's on the boat. It was fun. I would totally recommend to anyone to try out at least once for fun. It's something fun to do as group in sacramento. read more

This was an absolute BLAST! we had a group of 38 and did 2 boats and I can't not even believe how much fun it was. You can bring on your own drinks they provide ice and ice chest, as well as your own snacks. The employees are so fun and it really was a beautiful ride! This is a must do for a fun outing with friends. read more

Do you have plans this weekend and are 21+. .My wife and I took a trip after eating on the river to celebrate our anniversary..The boat isn't huge ,but definitely big enough.. It's a bring your own favorite drinks while the captain drives you down the Sacramento and American river.. While the boat is in full action forward they have music of your choices.. Everyone on our boat was celebrating something from birthdays to the weekend to just life. T he ride seemed short I think it was close to two hours but it was a blast..If you can book a time with friends you will not be disappointed.. Don't forget to bring your own brew they have ice chest on board to keep your beverage's cold...so so much fun.. read more

It was my first time on the Sac Brew Boat and it was so much fun! The boat was a good size to fit 8-15 people. In the middle of the boat was a sort of long unshaped bar with barstools on the outside edges. In the interior of the bar sat our friendly captain and guide for the excursion. There were coolers to store drinks and a small deck at the front to mingle or even dance if we were so inclined. There was also the possibility of being able to hook up your phone to the aux chord and play music. Before leaving the dock we were given a short safety introduction and had the option of boating to the Sturgeon, a riverside bar, or just having our whole trip on the American River. We opted to stop at the Sturgeon. It gave us time to use the bathroom, because there was not one on the boat, or grab a bite to eat or bar drink. The whole three hours or so we were on the boat passed so quickly! When I got off the boat I reflected that it had felt like 30 min. I guess time flies when you are having fun ;) read more

I made a reservation for my sister's bachelorette party and it was so worth it. At first I was nervous due to majority of our girls being a bit shy. But the staff on the boat were very engaging and made the trip so much fun for everyone. It was a fun and comfortable environment. Loved being able to play our own music, bringing our own drinks, and the water fun fights with the other boats!! Also loved the bar we stopped at. It was a great time and I really recommend it for any occasion read more

Fantastic experience, we had a lot of fun on the boat ride and the people running the boat were very personable. My friend hosted and paid for the ride. When I found out how much it cost, I was shocked! The price is the only reason I wouldn't give 5 stars. Seems like a bit much. Other than that, it was a great time! read more

Super fun! We scheduled a trip for my cousins birthday and for whatever reason our schedules were t lining up and it delayed our departure. The captain Aaron was so cool about it, and told us he would wait and make sure we could get out on the water and have a great time. He made sure we were comfortable, felt welcomed, and that my cousin had a memorable birthday. It was a perfect Saturday morning, the weather was beautiful, the other boater's were polite and fun. We even got a chance to stop and feed the ducks! So cool! Aaron was such a sport, he was fun and even photo bombed some of our pics! I wish we would've had more time, but very enjoyable and will definitely be doing this one again. read more

When you're looking to have fun and that kind of fun combines enjoying alcoholic beverages on the river while getting a little workout, then "Sac Brew Boat" is the answer! Having already gone on the "Sac Brew Bike" (which is seen daily rolling around the streets of Midtown Sacramento), the Brew Boat came to life during the late-spring 2018. It was our friends birthday weekend and a large group of us all planned to spend our Sunday funday under the warm Sacramento sun. Reservations for the Brew Boat are required and it can be done through their website, www.sacbrewboat.com. Individual tickets sell for about $34.99/per person + tax which includes a 90-minute ride along the Sacramento & American rivers. The boat itself can hold 15 adults max. They offer seven tours a day, seven days a week in between the hours of 11am-7pm. Since these tours are more of a warm weather activity, the months of operation are generally April through October. The actual area where the boat docks is in Old Sacramento at the Public Docks on the Sacramento River right next to Rio City Café. It is highly recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure in order for a smoother check-in process. You are allowed to bring a total of 3 beverages (beer, wine, and/or cider) and no glass containers. They also offer a cooler with ice to keep your drinks cold. Since this is a 90-minute trip, snacks are also highly recommended. And what would this be without some music? You can link your phone via-Bluetooth to play any song of your choice through their speakers! And make sure you go to the restroom before boarding because there are NO public restrooms on the boat! Once onboard, you will see a full canopy to block the warm sun while you are pedaling. And just like the Brew Bike, the majority of seats have pedals under them to help propel and power the giant paddle wheel in the 30-foot boat's aft. If the customers get too tired, the boat itself is pushed along by a 10 horsepower motor that is charged via rooftop solar panels. Additionally, there is always a captain onboard to make sure we are moving in the right direction. We all had the honor of meeting co-owner of the Brew Boat, Chris Ferren-Cirino who was awesome company during our trip. Overall, the "Sac Brew Boat" was an awesome experience. Props for Chris and his staff for making this come alive to everyone visiting the Sacramento area. We cruised under the Tower Bridge and went as far north as Discovery Park. In my 20 years of living in the Sacramento area, this was a first for me! I will definitely plan this again. My rating for Sac Brew Boat, a unanimous five-stars! read more

Sac Brew Boat - Sunset colors for our photo shoot by the amazing Sac Brew Boat! - Boat Tours Near Me - Sacramento, California

I was given the opportunity to attend a birthday party on the infamous Sac Brew Boat. With being fairly new to Sacramento I honestly didn't have much expectation for this experience except a fun time of drinking on the water on a boat. For an hour and a half I paid $37 for one of the 16 people on this boat. While it looks like you need to do the pedal motion for the boat to move, the captain is able to move and operate the boat just fine. It's BYOB, BYOS, and bring your own music. Sac Brew Boat simply provides the boat service. I thought it was an overall fun experience since there isn't much to do in Sac. They need to utilize the water front so much more. Would I recommend this experience? Absolutely! read more

Incredible outing ! I was so scared to book since it was close to 750$ but I am so pleased with the whole tour . We were celebrating a bride and loved every minute ! It is a 90 minute tour but captain John was so kind to wait for our last guest -- he even gave us ginger candy beforehand . You can bring any drinks under 7% and no glass or hard alcohol. Which is fine because there is a stop at a bar by the water - the only downside is it 15 minute stop. You can bring back any hard alcohol back to the boat or take your shots there . The views are beautiful, the vibes are so much fun. Make sure to have a good play list . We brought pizza aboard . They provide ice and chest . We had the tiki boat with the restroom-- I would invest . They kept the party going with a water fight with another boat . It was by far the best experience. I would do it all over again- just have to find 18 friends to split . This review is on the tiki boat not on the pedal boat / private tour of 18 . The crew is hands down the best ! read more

I rented a private tour this passed weekend for my birthday and it was a great value! There was room for up to 16 guests on the boat, including 10 bike seats for those who want to pedal (which is optional). We had a captain - Aaron and a first mate- Katie, who were amazing, fun, helpful and welcoming. We brought our own beer, seltzers, and snacks on the boat ride. There's a max of 4 drinks per person, and you wouldn't want to overpack for this ride, anyway. I also packed mini water bottles in case anyone needed to take a break from drinking. Now, onto the actual boat ride. We sailed from the port and had about a 90 min ride through the River. There's a long table top where we can pedal from, and there's ice chests there to store anything as well. I wanted to do karaoke on my phone, and there was bluetooth connection onboard so i didn't have to worry about bringing a speaker! Aaron even brought out an echo-y karaoke microphone for us to sing with! About halfway through the ride, before coming back to port, we stopped at the Virgin Sturgeon, a cute maritime themed bar and we took some shots, and got some drinks to-go in plastic cups. The ride was super laid back, and didn't sway so nobody got sea sick. I'd definitely consider this for a large group again, and even would get a seat on the public ride for just a few people. read more

I decided to do the Sac Brew Boat for my 30th birthday on my actual birthday to bring it in with some of my closest friends and I'm glad I did! This was an amazing experience and I love that they allow you to bring your own snacks/ drinks. Everyone had a great time and the workers was wonderful. You don't have to be in your seat the whole time and the boat is pretty spacey. They even allow you to decorate it if you want, we didn't but that was an option. I just wished they had longer times to rent it out because an hour and a half goes by super fast but we made every minute count. Thank you Sac Brew Boat for giving me a wonderful and memorable bday experience! I highly recommend :) read more

Captain Jim and Kory were awesome. Hands down the beat thing to do in sacramento! Will definitely schedule my birthday here!

Eight women from our Kaia Fit group went on an excursion from Old Sac to the Virgin Sturgeon restaurant and back to Old Sac. Captain Jack and Erin were a great crew. The day was warm, but they had a mister on the boat to cool us off. The food and drink from the restaurant was delicious and refreshing. If you get too full, there are pedals under the seats to work off your food. We were lucky and saw a seal swimming. If you haven't tried this you should, it was great fun! read more

Such a Fun experience. The most unexpected part is the ability to get up and walk around the boat, once in the water you're not confined to your seat. Bringing your own beverages ended up being a plus as all of us were able to bring our favorite drinks onboard instead of having to only choose from the options at the bar. It's a great activity during the summer. read more

Seems pretty silly to pay so much for a glorified paddle boat with zero drinks included! Regardless I guess it's a good business idea on their end. Make the customers be your fuel Silly when you think the river train includes drinks with much higher operating costs. read more

Went on the brew boat yesterday with a bunch of friends and had a blast! Even met a few new really nice people as well. The captain and deck hand (forgive me I can't remember your names) were super cool and made sure we all had a fun and safe time out on the water. I've been on the brew bike a few times before which is fun, but I actually enjoyed the boat experience more. Theres just something about being out on the water on a sunny Sacramento day that I thoroughly enjoyed. They have life jackets but you don't have to wear them if you don't want to. There are storage benches for purses and jackets or what not. They have a JBL speaker system to connect to and play some tunes. I was my group's DJ and started the ride off with some Bubba Sparxxx Heat It Up! Lol it seemed like the perfect song to get people pumped about pedaling in the heat! Pedaling is very similar to the brew bike (or any bike really)...its not hard but it gets tiring after a while. The boat does have a motor that can go 10mph so though you should pedal to get the experience of it all you don't really have to if you dont want to. It seemed like most of our group pedalled the first part of the ride then on the way back I think only a few did. I liked that we got to stop near the green Discovery bridge for a nice break in the shade. There were a lot of ducks that swam around so if you had some snacks you can feed them. The boat itself has a shade cover so you are mostly shaded but wear sunscreen just to be safe. Some more suggestions if your going on the brew boat: Dress comfortable Bring snacks (for the ducks too!) Wear shades and/or a hat Fill out your waiver online before hand and get there early so you have more time on the water! (I showed up like right at 5 and didn't fill out my waiver, so sorry to my group for holding us up for a few extra minutes). The waiver is super simple and doesn't take long but it's just one less thing to take up the time you have since it's only an hour and half long. That would actually be my only negative is that its much shorter than the brew bike tours which are 3 hours I believe...so maybe in the future I hope they consider extending the trip duration for the brew boat. read more
