I went on an underground tour of Pendleton, Oregon and few years back and thought this would be similar. Instead we walked around above ground looking at old buildings and then spent about 5 to 10 minutes in an old basement and learned about how they used jacks to pick up the buildings after a great flood back in the 1800s. On the bright side, the tour guide was very friendly and informative. If you're looking for a quick hour long historical tour, this is recommended, but don't expect too much underground stuff, you won't get it.

The Black Chasm Cavern is located in the tiny town of Volcano which really feels like a step back…read morein time. I loved that this tour includes some amazing and beautiful natural wonders as well as a little bit of history. The place was very easy to find and a quick 30 min or so drive from Jackson. There is a lovely little store to check out before or after your tour as well. The chasm is a cool 58 degrees which was nice on this 90 degree-ish day. It is a little on the steep side with lots of stairs and a few areas where you definitely need to duck from the rocks but was worth it! The limestone cavern is just amazing with breathtaking stalagmite, stalactite and very rare helictite formations. These helictites look like they defy gravity and grow in amazing curling directions. Incredibly, there is a blue lake at the very bottom of the cavern that can be seen from way above - unfortunately we are unable to access that far down but man I wish I could! We learned the lake has tiny little shrimp that live in the pure crystal waters and the only place they are known to exist, mind blowing. Our tour guide was great and shared so much knowledge and history. History: The chasm was discovered in 1854 long after the Miwok people had already lived in the area. Of course, the discoverers wanted to try and cash in on their discovery so they began charging folks and would literally lower them by rope into a hole in the ground with some candles precariously balanced on a plank of wood. Luckily we have stairs and nicely built platforms with cave lighting to see this amazing magical national landmark. Definitely worth the visit!

It's super convenient that it's the only cave tour in the area open every day of the week (minus holidays). Our guide was wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with all our questions. The stairs throughout the cavern were easily manageable for all the kids--even our 5-year-old handled them with no problem! The tour wasn't crowded at all, which made the entire experience much more relaxed and enjoyable. **A quick tip for future visitors:** Tours start on the hour, so time your arrival for just before to avoid a long wait. It's first-come, first-served, and while there are benches to relax on, there isn't much to do on-site if you end up having to wait for the next slot. Overall, it was a perfect outing and a memorable experience for the whole family. Highly recommended!

There are 3 cruises a day with different packages offered. Captain E offers not only a wine tour and an imforatable tour along the river about Clarksburg proper and Freeports proper & marina. He also throws in great "mood" music. The pairings with wine, sauces, meat and cheeses were so delicious! Honey and Bleu cheese? So good! There aren't enough chairs for everyone up on deck, so lots of people are left standing. We went on a Saturday cruise that left at 6pm. I wouldn't go again.

I attended the most wonderful tour of the California State Capitol, my first since my last tour…read moresince the 80's. Though, I have been to the Capitol for work (hearings, etc) I was able to see plenty of changes since much of the construction and what stayed the same. What stayed the same was the beauty and the history of the building. It was really nostalgic for me. We had a wonderful tour guide, who met us to begin the tour in the 1st floor Capitol rotunda. The first thing i noticed was the huge statue of Queen Isabell and Christopher Columbus that used to sit in the middle of the rotunda. It is now open, and what a wonderful view to look up to see the top of the dome and the incredible artwork and painting. Did you know it really does take 3 people to change a light bulb? Yes, at the top of the dome! We started our tour on the 3rd floor with the view of the Legislature from both the Assembly and Senate galleries. It is absolutely beautiful, with carefully chosen paintings and artistry of the walls, ceiling, and room that held a lot of significance to the States history. Plaques of Minerva, the state bear, and eagle throughout the building. Looking down at the floor and visualizing the Legislature at work, presenting their case, casting their votes, makes the democratic process so real and fascinating. The beautifully carved wooden stairwells, and ceramic tiles and flooring were so meticulously placed. We toured the Governor's office, Secretary of State, and the Treasurer's Office from before 1906. The historic furniture of the past and how state operations worked in those days were incredibly interesting, and the tour can go on forever. I love our state capitol!!

The building is impressive and grand! They offer free tours every hour and I would highly recommend as it only takes about 30-45 minutes to complete and after that you are still welcome to wander around at your leisure. State congress was in session so I was able to watch for a few minutes to see how it is done.

The night went pretty decent, I thought about booking with them in the future because their rules are pretty lenient... HOWEVER, after what I have encountered, I will NEVER EVER book with them again and I'll make sure anyone who asked me about brew bikes... I will share them my experience with THIS business. They care for making money off of you and then treat you like garbage right after. I understand a business is trying to get it's bag, but at least have some human decency. It's not like we treated the driver and the host bad at all--we offered them the alcohol that we brought with us and offered food that we ordered at one of the stops we made, left several boxes of alcohol for them at the end, and on top of that tipped very well. We wanted to make sure that everyone (including the employees) is having a good time because it's not the easiest thing to be in the heat, bike, and deal with people at times. I get that it's their job and they signed up for it, but it's just nice to see everyone around you having a good time. Let's proceed to what happened... shall we? As we started biking, the employee told us that we can leave our jacket on the hanger on the inside because there isn't one on the outside (where we are sitting). I proceed to do so, thinking nothing of it because I know it'll be safe there as we get on and off the bike. Arriving to our last destination, we all hopped off and a few minutes later... I realized that I have forgot my jacket on the bike. My friend who booked the bike called them immediately and they picked up-- informing my friend that they see the jacket AND that I can pick it up first thing in the morning. Fast forward to the morning. I drove down to the address listed on yelp...I pulled up and guess what? I couldn't find the building for "Off the Chain Bike Bus Tour." I thought I was at the wrong location... I had to second guess myself and walked back and forth to see if I have missed the building. Keep in mind, I know downtown sac like the back of my hand-- I go out extremely often and even work in dt. It led me to the address of a restaurant that has been shut down and chained up. It didn't felt right. I got confused... so I called up the number. The owner picked up, he informed me that they are only out there if someone books with them and the next time he is out here, he will check or have his guys check the bike. I left it at that and followed up more towards the end of the week. Here is where the math ain't mathing... So, how come the staff said that they saw the jacket and that I can pick it up the next morning? When there isn't even a location for this business (I forgive about there not being a location). However, it doesn't make sense... if they were to store the bikes away and come out for the next customer, wouldn't the jacket still be on the bike? Unless... one of the staff took it and the owner is covering them. As you may wonder... what type of jacket is this? why would someone steal a jacket? It's a ZARA jacket... so, I guess it's worth having sticky fingers over. I followed up again today. The owner picked up and I asked about my jacket. He came at me rude... saying "You called us 3-4 times. There is nothing we can do." Sounds super defensive to me; you know people don't act defensive for no reason. The response is super ignorant as a business owner. I informed him how unprofessional it was for his staff to provide misinformation and how it played out in general. He said "there is miscommunication," and that's it. Like that's all he can say to me as a customer? OH OKAY. I understand people lose stuff all the time. I wouldn't be upset if I placed it at a bar and then accidentally forgot about my jacket. However, I was informed that they see the jacket AND that I can pick it up the next morning... but when I try to pick up the jacket, my jacket is no where to be found. It makes no sense at all...

09/26/2026: My wife…read more& I booked the Yolo Traveller Golden Fox experience. Right as we boarded the train, the direction & guidance to our seats was pretty chaotic & a bit confusing. The staff didn't appear to have a system in place for order-taking so the waiters almost skipped over our table completely at the beginning of the journey. There's supposed to be champagne poured at the tables prior to your food arriving. When the staff finally brought out the champagne, it was quite warm. The food we ordered took a while to arrive at our table. Luckily, the alien themed cheese burger & fries were actually pretty decent & we enjoyed it. They didn't provide any napkins which seemed ridiculous since most of the menu items were greasier finger foods. My wife & I felt like we lucked out receiving our food when we did as there were several other tables that were still waiting a long time for their food to arrive. I overheard at least three different groups of guests complaining about either the food or drinks taking too long or being the complete wrong order. There was honestly a lot of idle time for a short 2-hour train ride & it really felt a bit boring at times with nothing to really do onboard. There were speakers throughout the different train carts, but the music kept cutting in & out with it mostly remaining off possibly due to connection issues to some staff members cell-phone or device. Finally, near the end of the experience, the staff brought us paper review cards to provide feedback to the ride, but they didn't pass out any writing utensils so we were unable to complete their review onboard. Overall, the staff seemed undertrained & there was a clear lack of leadership/structure from the management team. The service was not great, the setting & ambience was only okay, & the experience/activity itself was a bit dull. The one positive was that the specific food we ordered was decent. We won't be returning anytime soon & I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
