I finally decided my health was too important to put up with doctors that have no business practicing medicine. Dr. Pineda is the only physician that's given me personal attention, asked questions, listened to my responses, explained my health, and recommended changes to achieve optimal health. She's an endocrinologist as well as a board-certified internist (contrary to another review), so she does order blood tests other doctors never recommended to me. As a result, she identified issues that were never identified by my previous doctors. Occasionally, I've waited a little longer than I would've liked but all doctors get behind sometimes and she never rushes you out of her office half-listening to your concerns like some experiences I've had. She's also responsive via email.

So when she needed her prescriptions renewed, they said she needed an appointment in person -- no video appointment -- before she could get her meds. The only way to get the prescriptions was if she paid $15 per prescription. Kafka couldn't have come up with a better scheme. Be very wary if this doctor. Avoid if you possibly can and only if you have no other choice. A friend asked for her annual physical from her and Dr Pineda refused we think because it doesn't reimburse enough from insurance.

I second everything folks have said about the convenient location, friendly staff and the actually-with-the-times online health management system. And everything nice folks said about Dr. Coe in particular is also true. All I'd add is something pretty basic: Dr. Coe is a boss. Seriously. She's great. Easy to talk to, doesn't come across as judgmental, and thorough. She has a laminated sheet with a rundown of the major stuff she'll cover during the appointment -- including a head's up as to whether she'll need to ask about bloodwork, stuff like that. I've been having some chronic health problems, and she was especially thorough getting details and making sure I understood the importance of actually CALLING a specialist. All in all, a very positive experience. I'm with Betty on this one: I don't need to hunt for a good primary care doc anymore.

I never walk out of her office without a copy of results as well as her suggestions for various products or specialty doctors. Several of the comments here include Dr. Myers along with other doctors but only give 4 stars. Dr. Myers, however, should be reviewed separately, as she only deserves 5 or more stars. As far as Dr. Mills goes, I understand how some other reviewers could give her a negative rating, because she does have a certain way about her that can be misinterpreted. But she really is smart and great, it's just the practice's increased emphasis on cost-cutting and speed, and her trying to increase productivity as others seem to tell her is better, when it is not, and she is better than that. The change in reviews here and on other websites over time is noticeable, where people used to talk about how great the doctors, including Dr. Mills were, and how much time Dr. Mills spent with patients and really caring for and about patients, while newer reviewers talk about how quick and curt she seems. I believe it is a function of someone telling her that is how to increase productivity, and (thought some of the staff are really good and nice) because she has certain staff that have no care for the patient and only want to rush patients, and even rush Dr. Mills. Being a primary doctor is calling, and the relationship that patients have with their GPs is much different then with other doctors. Dr. Mills has the ability to be one of the great ones, but she has to follow her caring soul, and not what her staff say or what she is told will make more money. Dr. Mills and the other doctors also need to recognize that staff should not be able to run the direction of the practice or treatment of patients as some do. Things are only worse for many of us, since they stopped taking insurance and charging well above insurance allotments. Again, somebody must have convinced Dr. Mills that was a way to make more money - likely staff who did not want to deal with billing codes - but it is not. Some offices cut their prices after stopping to take insurance, but this office charges more. Most people just cannot afford to pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for basic doctors visits, and in the end, we all go to less doctors visits and get less medical care than than we need, and they get less patients then they need. It's a lose-lose. So, I would encourage you to still try Dr. Mills, but encourage her to be her caring self, and take time, and not be rushed by staff who seem to control things, and not to make the practice an assembly line. Care for patients, take insurance, spend the time, be nice - and everyone will profit in money, happiness and soul. I give HER 5 stars and I'm sorry that I won't be able to see her at this practice. The $250 annual concierge fee is high even by boutique clinic standards, and I wasn't aware of it until the day of my appointment. The cancellation fee for an appointment is $200. If this practice is out of network for your insurance, know that the charges far exceed the generally accepted rate that even the best out-of-network coverage recognizes. This is important to note, because Capital Medical will bill you for the balance not covered by insurance, which makes the rationale for the concierge fee pointless for patients who already are out of network. I was left with a significant bill for excess charges for a physical, but the clinic was cooperative with me and Mary Beth was gold once again in hearing my complaints, even though she's not involved in the billing aspect. I absolutely loved the care I received by Mary Beth and how comprehensively I got a picture of my health. I cannot recommend her enough. If you are in-network, and you are not put off by the concierge fee (which is payable per calendar year), I highly recommend making her your PCP.

It costs $199/year, but is worth every cent (and then some). It's kind of like a medical "start-up" done right. Online scheduling, really long appointments, nice offices. Check 'em out.
