I registered online and booked an appointment to come into this Urgent Care. While booking an…read moreappointment it asks for reasons for your visit today. I have to many cold symptoms I have concerns about and seeking further assistance because I am also pregnant with these symptoms. After booking, In the appointment details it provides location's contact number and also notifying someone may reach out to you from the clinic to confirm your appointment. I scheduled at 9am for a 1pm. I get a call at Noon from a receptionist asking me if I can go to another clinic across The Bronx. Umm.... what for !? I live one block away from this one. She proceeded to tell me I may not be seen because I'm pregnant. What !? I asked what does that have to do with me being checked for my cold symptoms!? She could not explain or give enough reason. We disconnected and I walked over ahead than my scheduled time. When I arrived they told me the same thing, no provider can see you here because your pregnant. Something about licensing issues is last they provided. When I looked in the back I seen a female Doctor and she had an attitude and just shaking her head. I don't think it has anything to do with they "can not" it seemed like she just didn't want to be that bothered or check someone that closely because they are also pregnant. This place is a joke. Would of been my first time here too. Glad this place exposed themselves early !

My 90-year-old mother was hospitalized following an acute respiratory event, and as you can…read moreimagine, this has been an extremely stressful and concerning time for our family. Throughout her hospitalization, the majority of the nursing staff were compassionate, attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. I want to make a point of acknowledging that. Their kindness and professionalism were greatly appreciated, particularly under the circumstances. Unfortunately, my experience with the charge nurse was very different. I approached him simply to ask a brief question. Rather than responding in a courteous manner or indicating that he would be with me shortly, he told me, in what I found to be a dismissive and disrespectful tone, and in front of the nursing staff, that I needed to wait until he had finished updating an incoming nurse for her shift. I completely understand that a charge nurse has important responsibilities during a shift change and that giving report to an incoming nurse requires his attention. My concern was not that he needed to finish his report. My concern was the manner in which he communicated that to me. I was extremely embarrassed and uncomfortable being spoken to in that manner in front of the nursing staff. More importantly, I found the interaction particularly disappointing because this individual is now in a leadership position. A person serving as a charge nurse is not only responsible for clinical and operational matters; he is also representing the hospital's leadership and its culture to patients and their families and is also responsible for being a culture carrier for the institution. What makes this experience especially disappointing is that I had a very different experience with this same individual approximately four years ago, when he was a staff nurse. At that time, he was exceptionally accommodating, and I was sufficiently impressed with his professionalism that I actually took the time to write a commendation recognizing him for outstanding performance in care. That is why the contrast in his behavior now is so striking to me. I would expect that advancement into a leadership position would bring an even greater awareness of the importance of professionalism, empathy, communication, and respect--particularly when interacting with families who are already under considerable emotional stress. NewYork-Presbyterian's own Respect Credo emphasizes that "Every Person Counts," along with "Exceptional Quality and Service" and "Listen, Understand and Respond." I believe those principles should be particularly evident in the conduct of those entrusted with nursing leadership.
