#1 - The map software has this pinned in the wrong spot.... intersection of 555 and the Quehanna Highway #2 - Do *not* expect to walk in and be blown away with a fine dining ambiance. Dead furs line the walls, peanut shells lay trampled on the floor, crushed to a fine sawdust powder. The chairs are the variety that are on most decks. With all that said, there is a certain cool factor to it. Most definitely a biker bar in the summer, a hunter's oasis in the fall and winter. Go figure since this is deep in Elk Country. No A/C, but there's a nice breeze that blows through mixing bar smells and biker b.o. Our food was good, and there's no doubt in my mind that I'd go there again........ but most likely when it's cooler out. The deck was very nice (wish I took an image of it) with an outside bar as well. A very unique place to hang out. So, why three stars? What kept this from getting four stars was our service...... not prompt, despite the owner sitting at the table next to us. The value was OK, but when compared to the Benezette Hotel up the road the pricing is higher. What you don't get at the Benezette hotel is the "cool" atmosphere. Lastly, the cleanliness of the food runners was.... questionable. Again, not bad enough to keep me from going back (I have every intention to as the food was good) but that's why I didn't rank this 4 or more stars.

Food was good and the beer cold. Stopped with 3 friends while out on the bikes. Excellent lunch pit stop. Atmosphere was awesome and the owner was refreshing and fun! Only thing keeping this from a 5 star review was the waiter being completely clueless and SLOW! I think he was new.. Waited 10 minutes for him to figure out how to scan a debit card. Reuben, burgers, chips, chicken salad was our order and all stated they were great! Can't wait to ride back.

This place is awesome! This is exactly what I want when I go camping, or "glamping". The location…read moreis isolated and picturesque. The cabins are extremely nice, well-stocked, and well kept. The location is amazing - you're in a somewhat small area of woods, next to a river, and at the foot of a mountain (well, very large hill). We stayed in Cabin 1 which is at the end and faced away from the other cabins so we felt very secluded which is perfect. The cabins themselves are excellent. The furniture is really nice, there is a great fire pit (with plenty of wood provided!), a jacuzzi tub, a wood burning stove, a shower, and a full kitchen which has all the cooking utensils you might need. Everything is very clean and in great condition. There is a central building on the grounds which I think is either a store or has games and stuff in it, but it was closed due to covid. There is also a path you can walk down which takes you through the woods and close to the river. We didn't see any wildlife on the grounds, but I have no doubt that elks and stuff come through here and you have a good chance of seeing them. Definitely a solid choice if you want a really nice place to stay in Elk County. A few things to note about this place: - The owner doesn't like credit card payments and charges an expensive fee if you pay with one. He prefers you send him a check instead. I sent a check and everything was fine. - You can't drive up to the cabins, there is a parking lot and then you have to walk. The cabins are in reverse order, so the closest one is 10 and the furthest from the lot is 1. There are big carts you use to transport your stuff. I thought this was cool, but something to think about if you're elderly or have issues transporting your stuff. - There is no cellphone reception here, nor in the closest town Benezette. However the cabins have WiFi which works well. - The floor of the cabins looks really nice (stones), but it's super cold and...rock-like, so you'll probably want to wear some kind of slippers or shoes. - The closest town is Benezette which is 5-10 min down the road, but it literally only has like 4 businesses and twice as many houses. There is a WalMart about 25 min away if you need supplies.

Four luggage carts are located in the hotel vestibule in a small area to the left. Outdoor entrances, other than the main entrance, require a room key to enter the building. Reception and the lobby make a lovely first impression. It's a large area that feels both open and cozy. We book thru the Bonvoy app and are able to check-in remotely with our 'eta' so staff are ready. All staff we met were personable and friendly. Our King bedroom was located on the ground floor. I love that the room has 'wood' floors. So much easier to keep clean imho. The room was a good size with a desk/work station, small TV, dresser and a space to lay your open suitcase or use as a seat with storage space below. The closet is deep with quality hangers, an iron & board and a luggage rack. I really appreciate both the luggage rack and the flat open furniture surface for luggage. Two travelers, two suitcases. It's the small things that make travel more enjoyable. There's also a hook and a shelf outside the closet for small luggage and a jacket or two. The blackout curtains did their job as expected. The sheets were crisp. Pillows are feather. You can request a feather free room when reserving on the app. There is a 'notes' area before you 'reserve' the room. Heat/AC control is on the wall near the closet. An area in the room vestibule holds a small fridge, coffee service and microwave. Both the coffee maker and microwave were clean. Bedside table had four plugs for your electronics and a low shelf for a small bag. The bathroom is also a good size with large walk-in shower and plenty of vanity counter space. There are three hooks in there too! Towels for three were good quality, soft and absorbant. Multi-use personal care items are mounted in the shower stall and there is a large shelf in the stall for your personal items. The handle to turn on water is near the stall entrance which is great because you can adjust the water temperature before stepping into the shower. Pressure was great, water temp plenty hot and it drained very well. Breakfast was also excellent. Staff were constantly keeping an eye on messes being made by guests (pro tip: the sugar goes *in* the coffee cup) and restocking. The cereals, hot & cold are grouped with milk, yogurts, fresh and canned fruits, sugar, spices, etc., etc. The best cereal set-up I've seen in a while. Two other breakfast sections include hot items (eggs, turkey sausage) plus add ins like hot sauce and grated cheese, etc., and a toaster items section including bagels, english muffins and scones plus all the expected add ons like jelly, cream cheese, etc. The sectioned display areas really help with the flow of guests at the buffet. The toaster worked great. The breakfast dining area is large, sunny and clean. Lots of space for guests of different sized parties. One TV is on news type programming all day and night. The coffee station seems to be available all day and includes tea and cocoa. A small gym is available for guests use as is a small indoor pool. Both require a room key for entry. The pool has a handicap lift. At the time of this review (June 2025) this is absolutely a comfortable, safe place to stay. A good restaurant is right next door. A shopping 'mart' (you know the one) and fuel are up the road a few blocks.

Rating: 4 /5 This hotel is an award winning hotel, and I can see why. The staff was friendly and helpful. The decor, ambience, and offerings were all wonderful. The rooms are as pictured, they are spacious and accessible. I would have given 5 stars, but for 2 reasons: 1. The bed was very firm. I do feel like most hotel beds are, but for an "award winning hotel" I was interested to see if the room were different, and they were not much different than any other comfort inn. 2. "Breakfast buffet": Again with this being an "award winning hotel" I was excited for a breakfast buffet that would be as good as the adjoining restaurant food we had the night prior. However, it was pretty standard and very small. They have 2 waffle irons( which most hotels have), they had the smallest platter of hot food I have seen. It was 1 dish with 3 sections. Powdered eggs with a garnish, red potatoes ( they were good though!), and very small thin slices of ham that was sitting in water. This dish that held the food was so small, only 1 person at a time could go up to it. You move down the line to a selection of cereals. A microwave to microwave instant oatmeal, a fridge with hard boiled eggs, milk choices, etc. coffee is from a machine. The breakfast area seating needs to be update as well. The chairs were very worn and for a family of four we had these 4 big chairs at a small table. If I was coming through the area and needed to stay here again, I would, but because of the breakfast and bed- I wouldn't go out of my way just to stay at this hotel, unfortunately.
