    Welcome to Benezette!
    Robin P.

This rustic-cozy establishment is situated minutes from key elf viewing areas! Waitstaff are friendly. Grilled food is au rigueur here. It's tasty and perfectly grilled. I like a beef burger and fries. The beverage choices are numerous. Plan an overnight here and stay a while in relaxing comfort! The locals who hang out here are welcoming and share good tios about visiting places while in the area. If you go in August, plan a day at the annual elk festival at the Elk Country Visitors Center.

Very friendly waitresses who stop by often to check on you and offer refills on your drinks. The smoked baby back ribs were good. Meatloaf a little dry. The place looks very dated but still mostly comfortable. Also, according to my daughter, the turkey dinner was awesome. Real chunks of turkey breast.

The staff was very pleasant. The inside was clean. I could smell them smoking something sort of food, it was a pleasant aroma. The food was good and well portioned, prices reasonable.

Mi amore and myself went on an elk adventure. The bugle sound is amazing! Anyhoo. The two more prominent spots other than a gas station in the area were benezette hotel and old bull. We chose the hotel. We ordered hot meatloaf sandwich with fries (wish they were fresh cut), fried zucchini, and turkey dinner. All portions were sizeable and reasonably priced. The meatloaf was obviously homemade. It was tasteful and not dry. The gravy for the meatloaf was delicious and on the fries as well. The turkey dinner was good also obviously roasted there. But the gravy was a bit tasteless. Not the cleanest place in the world but the ambiance is neat and the service is wonderful.

I don't get any negative reviews. This place is a greasy spoon so yes, if you come expecting 5 star dining you will be disappointed. Yes it does take a little time to get your food because it's made hot and fresh! Stopped by on the way down from the Elk Vistiors Center. Hubs and I got the poppers for an app and the special which was buffalo chicken sandwich. Can't beat $7.95 for a good sammich with a toasty bun, chips, and a good fresh pickle. Their sweet tea is good too. Not too sweet. Just right. The girls there were very attentive. Was asked 3 times if we were ok or needed anything. Good hot meal on a chilly day.

This place is awesome! This is exactly what I want when I go camping, or "glamping". The location…read moreis isolated and picturesque. The cabins are extremely nice, well-stocked, and well kept. The location is amazing - you're in a somewhat small area of woods, next to a river, and at the foot of a mountain (well, very large hill). We stayed in Cabin 1 which is at the end and faced away from the other cabins so we felt very secluded which is perfect. The cabins themselves are excellent. The furniture is really nice, there is a great fire pit (with plenty of wood provided!), a jacuzzi tub, a wood burning stove, a shower, and a full kitchen which has all the cooking utensils you might need. Everything is very clean and in great condition. There is a central building on the grounds which I think is either a store or has games and stuff in it, but it was closed due to covid. There is also a path you can walk down which takes you through the woods and close to the river. We didn't see any wildlife on the grounds, but I have no doubt that elks and stuff come through here and you have a good chance of seeing them. Definitely a solid choice if you want a really nice place to stay in Elk County. A few things to note about this place: - The owner doesn't like credit card payments and charges an expensive fee if you pay with one. He prefers you send him a check instead. I sent a check and everything was fine. - You can't drive up to the cabins, there is a parking lot and then you have to walk. The cabins are in reverse order, so the closest one is 10 and the furthest from the lot is 1. There are big carts you use to transport your stuff. I thought this was cool, but something to think about if you're elderly or have issues transporting your stuff. - There is no cellphone reception here, nor in the closest town Benezette. However the cabins have WiFi which works well. - The floor of the cabins looks really nice (stones), but it's super cold and...rock-like, so you'll probably want to wear some kind of slippers or shoes. - The closest town is Benezette which is 5-10 min down the road, but it literally only has like 4 businesses and twice as many houses. There is a WalMart about 25 min away if you need supplies.

So when a family member approached me and asked me if I wanted to stay at this inn, I was surprised; but, after learning more, I excitedly said yes. This was the right decision and led to a fantastic and relaxing weekend away from the city. This nature inn sits in Bald Eagle State Park and has 16 guest rooms, a handful of meeting room/library spaces, and is absolutely beautiful. The rooms on one side of the inn overlook a lake, with the other side facing a cluster of trees. My relative and I ended up facing the trees, but we were totally fine with that - especially since the fall foliage was starting to set in. We were on the 2nd floor, so we were able to enjoy the view from a private balcony throughout the weekend; it looked like the 1st floor rooms had little patios instead, so no matter what, guest rooms have some sort of outdoor seating. Normally, guests would all be able to enjoy a communal patio and fire pit here. Granted, some other guests (as it appeared that a large group came here together) did go ahead and enjoy this space. My relative and I did not because avoiding people is a must these days, but still, what we saw of these spaces looked great. Definitely something to remember for the future. Speaking of avoiding people - it's 2020, so naturally, my relative and I were focused on what the inn is doing to protect guests. The answer is, plenty! Cleaning and sanitizing the inn is a big thing, naturally. The small size of the inn definitely helps, as it's not particularly big and doesn't lend itself to the gathering of huge crowds. Masks are a must and for the most part, this rule was adhered to; I passed by a couple of guests that I think just forgot theirs momentarily, but staff definitely took the rule seriously. Their dining room is currently closed - all meals are prepped and offered as take-out or delivery. Fortunately, the rooms include a fridge, so it was super easy for my relative and me to bring snacks and store our leftovers so that we were stocked and well-fed all weekend. Also, while you can request items that you need for your room, daily turn-down service is not happening right now - that way, only guests are in their rooms during their stay. The result was that I felt extremely relaxed while I was in the inn, knowing that my space and health was being respected and taken seriously. A couple of notes - the mattresses here were admittedly very hard and uncomfortable, and while they didn't ruin our stay, it's still nice to have my comfy soft bed back. I don't really hold this against the inn though since, frankly, I think all hotel beds are uncomfortable by default. Speaking of things I don't hold against them - this is a nature inn, so you better expect some of the local wildlife to try to get into your room. When I first opened my balcony door some stinkbugs fell onto me because they had gathered around the door frame - whoops! The good news is that the door itself was very well sealed, so the little jerks couldn't get in when the door was closed. Again, I don't hold that against the inn at all, seeing as it's set right in a state park. Still, I think it's fair to remind other guests and readers that when you visit a nature park, you better be ready to experience everything nature throws at you. If any of this sounded like something you would enjoy, I encourage you to visit the inn's website to learn more about staying here; there is a lot of information there about a range of other topics, such as how the entire facility is designed to be ecologically sound, what to expect when you visit during different seasons, and what sorts of outdoor fun awaits you in the surrounding nature park. I definitely recommend this beautiful inn as a getaway option - now and in the future; and I hope to be back one day to enjoy more of the surrounding area!

We ended up here by accident; we are driving cross country and decided we didn't want to drive all the way to Scranton. I used a dog friendly app, and they have lodges that accept dogs for a $10 fee. The home was built in 1989 with efficiencies for a bed and breakfast and does not disappoint! The entrance to the Inn is very welcoming and inviting with lamppost lines of light guiding you to a cute little narrow creek run along the left of the property. The grounds are well kept and fun to admire. The Inn is large and cozy. The suites are great accomodation for a couple or individual and they do have a larger suite for small families. Ample parking available and relaxation abound. The roommate rates are very affordable for all travelers and I have to say the breakfast is quite tasty! impeccable service and attention to detail. I will be staying here again.
