First off, I rarely if ever give five stars. That being said...was in PV for my quarterly visit with a pal and we stumbled upon this restaurant. It's very unassuming, set off the street in a semi-residential area with attached parking lot. We arrived and there were many cars in the lot, which is always a hopeful sign. The restaurant itself is rather basic. Tile floors and a handful of tables and booths. There was one server at the time we were there, which was a Wednesday afternoon. We were greeted promptly and drink order taken. Quickly after that the restaurant began to fill. The menu is rather expansive and I opted the the Don Omar dinner which included falafel, lamb, beef and chicken, rice and a Greek salad which I subbed tabouli for. My friend had the chicken shawarma sandwich. Our entrees arrived within 10-15 minutes and were nice sized portions. My meal was essentially a sampler plate which I was grateful for, allowed all the different flavors. The falafel, while nicely seasoned, was too dry for my liking. I'd say the same about the lamb kebab...just a tad dry. However the beef and chicken was amazing, humus was fresh and well flavored and the tabouli salad was spot on. Pita bread which I'm hoping was made there, was light and airy and good chewiness. The rice was the perfect amount and well seasoned. My compadre enjoyed the chicken wrap as well. If it were me, I'd add garlic sauce and additional tabouli to this for perfection! Our server, whom I'm assuming is also the owner, was efficient and accommodating. Upon payment we were chitchatting and he mentioned they also own Don Omar Tacqeria! That's saved in my collection so guess that's another meal for another day! Seriously, Mediterranean food is rare in northern AZ and I'm happy to have found this place somewhat close! Definitely worth checking out. Sorry no photos, I was starving!!! read more

Don Omar's Mediterranean is permanently closed, so when I made plans to eat there it was too late. The building is being made into a Mexican restaurant, as if we need another one of those! read more

My husband and I were told about this restaurant and decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it was a let down. We will try it again, as we always like to give places a second chance. There were only three tables, two servers - it took them forever to take our order. We were both surprised at the lack of awareness and maybe 'newness'? We felt we were interrupting their conversation to ask for our order to be taken. Then we waited a long time for our food and had to ask for our check when we were done. The food isn't too bad - the falafels were very tasty and not greasy at all. The hummus was fresh and delicious and the homemade pita bread was also yummy. I enjoyed the chicken kebab and the ground beef kebab but the 'steak' one was no good. It was so tough that I couldn't eat it. My husband said the same thing about his. Their prices are pretty high for this area; they're more like what we would see in California. At $20+ a plate we expect excellent quality all around. The ambience is lack-luster and could use a designers touch - or something to make the customer feel more comfortable. We will give them another chance and update our review. read more

Went there a couple weeks ago. Lisa had Fatash salad side of chicken kabab. I had Lamb shish kabab. Both were good. Lots of food. Rice pilaf could have been better but it was alright. Had a side of falafel which were really good. We are both Greek so it is nice to have some Mediterranean food in the area. We live in Rimrock so probably won't drive there just to eat but next time we are in PV will definitely stop in again. They said they were Jordanian food. read more

What a great little hidden gem. The food is so fresh and delicious. The lamb chops were so tender and had such great flavor. My husband had the mixed shawarma plate and he couldn't stop talking about how good it was. The hummus was definitely freshly made and so good. We will definitely be going back. We looked forward to trying this new(ish) spot as they serve our very favorite foods. Food is ordered at the counter in this sparsely decorated space. As there was little ambiance, we opted to take the food home to enjoy. The Chicken Shawarma was good. The generous portion was served with overcooked rice, salad, hummus & pita bread. It was a tasty meal. The Vegetarian Plate was not as good. Overcooked falafel was neither crisp on the outside nor fluffy on the inside. I suspect they were premade by a food supplier & reheated. They were awful. The hummus was good but the tabouleh was oversalted & inedible. The stuffed grape leaves were filled with overcooked rice. They were sad looking & awful tasting. This place is amazing! Its out of the way and quiet, everything is so clean and the food is fantastic! The lady helping us was also so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Chicken Shawarma plate! The chicken was tender and flavorful, the salad and hummus were great and the rice was fantastic! The Turkish coffee and sweet tea were also delicious! We have eaten here a few times now. Every time it has been excellent, including as take out. We have had the falafels, shawarma, Kebabs as the mains. All have been very good to excellent, the kofta kabobs needed a bit more seasoning, but that was the weakest of the mains and they were good. Hummus was good with no one flavor overwhelming the others, Babbaganoush was good and lemony. Service has been good. The restaurant is simple but clean. my only complaint is they do not have the turnip pickles yet. Prices are very reasonable for the food and quality. This is as good (if not better) than any Mediterranean restaurant we have had in the valley or back in California. Don't skip this hidden gem (it is not on a main road). read more

My wife & I went here on Sunday. Had the place to ourselves. Order the don Omar plate. The good: salad, hummus and pita bread. The bad: While all the meats had flavor, they were so overcooked that we could barely cut them with a knife. We ate 1/3rd of the plate, took the rest home to our dog. $30 down the drain. Take my advice, learn from my experience, this place is less than average. Won't be going back. read more
