We only ordered drinks, and to start, we had the pistachio espresso martini. It was so delicious. The rim of crushed pistachios was the perfect touch. My second drink was the lemon elixir, and although I'm not a fan of the tartness of lemon, I did really like this drink. I think the creaminess overshadowed the tartness for me. My last drink of the night was the orange dreamsicle. This was definitely my favorite out of the three! It wasn't overwhelmingly sweet and had a creaminess to it that I enjoyed. On top of the tasty drinks, we had an amazing waiter! He made sure to explain all the drinks to us and he was very accommodating. I'll definitely be back to visit next time I'm in the area!

The espresso martinis were a little too sweet and taste more like chocolate milk than a martini. My favorite dish of the night were the fries, everything was decent at most. Not a single dish stood out to us in any way. We tried the Octopus, lamb shank for two, chicken kebabs, and tzatziki dip. The lamb was bland and needed salt while the chicken was super bland and dry. The octopus was OK and the tzatziki was decent. The fries were the only really tasty dish of the night. I'd skip Layli as not one single dish made us want to come back, especially for the price. The only thing I didn't care for was the pistachio cheese pocket. It's listed as a dessert but it's literally a calzone with pistachios over it. I didn't taste any sweetness and it was a strange combo. It was still tasty but it's very different than what I expected. They have cocktails, beers, and wines as well. I got a glass of wine which was only $9 and I enjoyed it.

Their kabab plates were a hit. They also offered a good selection of drinks. Minor thing, and it is from personal experience only: their menus are printed on black paper and in a plastic sleeve. Reminds me of the bad touristy places in Europe. It did not represent how good the food was, because usually we run away from this Massive Plastic menus... so I Joel one day they will update them to something nicer for a better first feel.

I first tried the assorted kebabs. Unfortunately, the chicken had dried out and the kofta felt too crumbly. The chicken rice dish had quite aromatic rice but underseasoned chicken; seasoned rice alone can't substitute bland chicken drumsticks. The lamb rice dish had both aromatic rice and juicy, well seasoned lamb. I ended up combining the lamb pieces with the chicken rice. Out of curiosity, I tried a piece of their fried chicken. It proved juicy and not too oily. It would do well as a standalone appetizer in most restaurants. I also tried something that looked like lasagna, but without tomato. It tasted, to my uncultured palate, like a lasagna with some sort of cream or bechamel-like sauce. I quite enjoyed it. For dessert, my friend convinced me to try what I had initially passed over as oatmeal or tapioca pudding. The Omi Ali proved quite delectable, like a cross between bread pudding and oatmeal but with more nuanced spices and sweetness. I added it to my short list of desserts I enjoy, since I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Overall, I appreciated the breath and variety. Some hits and misses are to be expected at a homely, ethnic neighborhood style buffet.
