A sham of an organization that should lose their funding for lying, fraud and corrupt practices were they leave whenever they feel like it, usually 3 hours earlier than they claim, and many hours earlier than they fraudulently list in thier doors or list online our thier voicemail. They lie about offering sake day virtually visits or walk-ins as I have tried both many times and they finally admitted that this is actually a lie they tell clients to try to look like they are still a walk in clinic, but the only doctor they get choses to work only a few days a week and for only a few hours a day when not going on numerous international vacations with his family, (during Covid lockdowns which our pharmacist was shocked he was allowed to do and when he also calls in sick almost once a month and is rarely ever in). Yet they are paying these doctors well over $240K a year for only part-time work through our high taxes! This would be considered fraud in any other organisation bit because the Alberta Doctors refuse to work or show up in mass, they have reduced demand so that we all have no choice but to worship the days they actually show up and grace us with thier presence. Vote with your wallets, do not show up to this medical clinic if at all possible as they have a 1.5 star rating for a reason... they are horrible people who care nothing for their clients or patrons that site for hours for service and care more about leaving before 3 PM each day that they actually show up! I came there early in the morning q few times and the doctor just chose to not ship up again both times despite being scheduled to be there. This type of problem has gotten slightly worse in most clinics but at this clinic it is the worst example of client/patient abuse you will see in any Western based nation with any seblence of a health care program. As a former government auditor I was told by Health Link they are getting hundreds of complaints a month and are being monitored at the moment by numerous bodies including them, thier head office amoungst others. Just don't go or if you must and you get treated like this ask for an audit or to speak with head office to make a complaint! There is a reason why there are signs plastered over all of thier walls asking for an online review, it is because thier head office is trying to pressure them into falling in line and functioning like an actual medical facility. read more

For today's experience only! I was left on hold for 11:36 so I hung up and called back. I got through to wait on hold (not yet answered by reception) and hung up after 3:48. I've been treated well when I'm there and Dr. K is fantastic and the staff are pleasant. My problem is with their staffing levels. read more

This is not about particular doctor. This is about the business model. Second most expensive health care system on the planet (no, it is not free! It is covered from our taxes!). The fact that you will wait for 8 hours to be seen at emergency room or absence of Advil or Tylenol in the pharmacies is diluted by the discussed business model. Highly advertised online scheduling does not work as intended at all. Pomelo (Telus Health) platform schedules your appointment for tomorrow and says "successfully" which does not mean anything at all without virtual confirmation from the clinic.Then, if you did not get one and trying to call them your patience is tested for an hour of the phone. And, if no one picked up you have to get there in person to see what is available for the next day or day after or a week after. Then the next one is trying to schedule appointment for the minor: he cannot do it for himself, but the office will not accept if you do it for him online and other options are not available. They tried Covid and it did not kill you, then they will do it in a casual way. I guess planet has been overpopulated. If you feel good, then you can have a plate of soup and work and if you feel bad - you are pretty much out of luck. What is the point of helping refugees and war thorn countries if we can't help ourselves? Government just approved purchase of 88 F-35s for 19billion. Who for? What for? read more

Maybe I'm an unusual patient. When I go to to the doctor because something is wrong with my bod, the biggest thing I'm looking for is an explanation as to what the heck happened to me, what I need to do to make it better, and how to avoid doing it again. But, what do I get instead? Drugs. Ok, well that's pretty awesome, but when I when I wake up with neck pain for the first time in my life that's so bad I can't even get out of bed -- I would prefer drugs AND a bit of an explanation. Crazy story, maybe. But I'd like to fix the problem and prevent it from happening again instead of just taking drugs to numb the pain... Although these are pretty good... Alright - I'm done beefing. Other than that, this place is pretty rad. The staff are friendly and one of the ladies totally talked the sweetest, yet totally grumpy about the wait time, little old lady back down into friendship mode. She reaffirmed her that wait time is a result of the doctors giving the upmost utmost care and attention to all the patients to make sure they are completely satisfied. I love it. :) ...But wait! How does that explain my 30 second prescription drug write and run, huh doc? Nah, I'm just joking with you, I'm not mad. It's basically impossible on these pills anyway. The wait is long, but the price is definitely right and as a competitive advantage over other clinics, the people seem really nice. I'd come back to this one next time I need to. Seriously, don't go. Seriously. What a waste of my time. I went there a few days back for STI testing. When the doctor came in, he (there was no female doctor on staff at this time) was very squeamish about giving me the test (aren't you a doctor?? What do you think I have down there, teeth??) I'd had it done before and offered to do it myself, but when I asked for pointers, he wasn't very helpful. I gave them two samples to use, and got a call back yesterday about coming in for results. I freaked out! Must be an STI, right?? Why else would they call? Well, after rushing in a dead panic all the way to their clinic on a Friday night, surrounded by squalling infants in the waiting room for hours, I finally found out... they'd botched the tests!! Had done some really minor tests on one sample and done nothing on the other... wtf?? I was super concerned about my health at this point, what with all the panic and fear and now I'd waited almost a week for these results... he gave me a prescription to take, just in case, for gonnorhea/chlamydia with really unclear instructions but I didn't take it because I honestly didn't trust anyone from this clinic at this point, I mean really would you? I ended up rushing to the Chumir first thing this morning to get seen by someone remotely competent, and they advised me to wait on taking the drugs, as well as gave me the full battery of tests I needed. It seems that the experiences of others here are very bad, and perhaps justifiably so, but my wife, daughter and I go to that clinic, seldom wait all that long, as we phone ahead for an appt. time. Dr. K is a delight to work with, for she tends to be caring and thorough, listens well, and is right on the task when we are clear about our needs. We are super happy with this fine woman! As well, the front desk has been a pleasure to deal with, but like the rest of us they appreciate respect and a smile or two along the way. And this brings me to another important point. As former registered professional people-helper myself, doing one's best to be super available to help others in meaningful ways takes considerable energy and care for those who show up in our offices. Mount Royal, Mission and other inner city drop-in clinics tend to have a large number of street needy and self-abusing people show up without appointments nor the manners to over-ride their often terrible physical and emotional condition. This is a constant rub on front-line staff and some physicians. We all are human and can get somewhat rundown with age and disease, but when many of one's clients are destroying themselves, it's both heart-rending and horrible. While waiting I've witnessed street people, prematurely elderly, junkies and alkies, and a disproportionate number of NA Indians show up. Their ship-wrecked recividist inclinations, burned-out lifestyles, and ongoing self-pity are obvious! Go to any hospital, clinic and medical center on any day, and witness the largely needless carnage that's parked outside their doors and inside their waiting rooms. Let's therefore consider this when we go to inner-city med clinics? And, instead of one more horror story, we can offer a smile and word of appreciation for their efforts when every day human misery pours in their doors...? read more

Two words: Don't go. Yes, it may be on the Red Mile and convenient to many, but so is the Sheldon Chumir Centre which is far superior. Mt. Royal Medicentre advertises that they are open 7 days a week, but they are not. Mainly due to the troll of an office manager, Jane, who scares off the staff and the doctors. According to one doctor I spoke with, no one wants to work with her. Don't expect a welcome when you walk in the door. Just take a number (like a bakery) and wait an hour to be called to register. Then you wait your hours to see whichever doctor happens to be on. This place is a shame to the medical community and to the public. Avoid it unless you are desperate for sub-standard care. read more

They really only get one star because I got in very quickly. Staff was extremely cold and unfriendly I am sick and am already miserable, the last thing I need is the nurse and the doctor to act cold and uncaring towards me. I went here a couple years ago and had a great experience, hence why I came back Hopefully you guys can figure it out and get back to that high level of customer service again. read more

If there were a 6th star, I'd use it to rate this clinic :) I was there this afternoon, and nervous because I knew I was going to be diagnosed with a UTI. The receptionist was very helpful, and registered me for the Fast Track treatment, which helped me to see a nurse sooner, without the long wait time. They were helpful in explaining to me, the whole way through, what was being done and why. The testing was simple and more comfortable than I expected. Then, when the Doctor wrote me a prescription, the Rexall pharmacy was just right there in the lobby, and they have reasonable prices there! I don't know about the poor reviews Mount Royal MediCentre has been getting. I've been to walk-in clinic there several times - both as a walk-in and with an appointment - and the staff has been nothing but cheerful and conscientious and helpful. In fact, the Mount Royal MediCentre is so good that I have enlisted one of its doctors as my official GP. And whoever said the Sheldon Chumir Centre was better is praising apples over oranges - The SCC is for all intents a mini-hospital (I've been there for a couple of issues - including a fun ride in an ambulance) and has three times the space, staff and budget. Off course they're going to provide better service than a hole-in-the-wall walk-in clinic. But the Sheldon Chumir Centre walk-in clinic also has walk-ins take a number (like a bakery) and wait to be called (unless you have an appointment) - unless you have a bona fide medical emergency, the wait there is shorter (but the Mount Royal MediCentre is not a trauma/emergency centre and the SCC is). So, there's that. For my money, the Mount Royal MediCentre is first class. read more

Don't come in here for a walk-in if you don't expect waiting over 3 hours to be seen by a doctor. Ridiculously long wait time. The staff are rude and dismissive of you. Came in at 9:00 am for a walk in with my family doctor, and ended up waiting until around 12:00-12:30 to be seen. Would not recommend coming into this location. read more

I've been helped there many times and although they staff is usually over worked they've always been great to me. Sometimes there is a long wait but it's just the nature of the clinic. I'm happy to go there whenever I need to. Not sure why there are negative reviews. read more

I also was treated badly there. I was called regarding my tests and told to some as soon as possible at 6:00 pm. I took cab and reached by 6:30 pm and they told me late and all patients are booked till 10:00 pm. I then asked that I was told that I should have come "as soon as possible" when I asked politely that I have come in 30 mins, how much sooner did you expect? On this some male nurse there told me that he will call cops!! I was not rude or angry and was still replied like that. read more
