Centrelink assists applicants by providing monetary and non-monetary support to those who need it. Staff can either be very rude or supportive. Despite the customer service being dreadful, the business is government owned and therefore exists to support Australian Citizens. While submitting the many lodgement forms and attending the numerous appointments can be tedious, ultimately the recipient receives a cash payment and support in the form of tax help, job seeking help and so on.

The reality isn't anywhere near as grim, they've up-staffed with young, sharp, extremely helpful staff who are *gasp* actually efficient, and the ticket system kept me waiting for a total of four (4) minutes. And even though I brought an expired Medicare card by accident, the guy still processed my refund. I'm actually a little disappointed it wasn't a crappier experience because now I have nothing to whinge about. I'm at my best when I'm whinging.

Obviously, either nobody called me or because my surname is hard to pronounce its been mispronounced and I easily missed it as there is no ticketing system. They call people by names so its very easy to be missed and You have no idea when it's going to be your turn. The rude lady refused to put me back in the Q or take a new appointment. After looking for parking for 45 mins and waiting for over 2 hrs I ended up to leave the office with crying eyes. I lodged a complaint with Medicare about this and the rude lady with Medicare. STAY AWAY FROM MEDICARE CHATSWOOD. Some people don't know anything about humanity !!!!!

It's a grand plan and on initial inspection they're doing a pretty damn good job... because I'm here to tell you, I went in expecting the very worst. To start with there's 2 people manning the electronic ticket counter when you go in to help you get the right ticket, there's tons of screens and announcements letting you know what's going on, lots of staff, a schmick new (modern, yo!) colour scheme, and free wi-fi. Got mah new e-tag and was gone inside 15mins. Try saying that about the old RTA. Oh that's right YOU CAN'T.
