We crossed it twice daily while we were staying in an apartment loaned to us for a week to explore Darling Harbor and the surrounding area. It was a great way to start the day with some walking exercise to prep us for walking all day. Wearing comfortable broken in shoes is a must. Plus you get to soak up some sun and get some history. There are all kinds of activity being carried out here. The bridge offers several spots to take beautiful pictures of Darling Harbour . Selfies are great with the city skyline for those memorable photos. Tourist, locals traveling back and forth to work, sitting and talking, eating and drinking, cyclist pedaling and the colorful flags hoisted on both sides make it a beautiful landmark to visit. Did you know this was not the 1st Pyrmont Bridge? The 1st one, a wooden bridge with a metal center, began operation March 17, 1858. It cost a penny to cross. In the 1st 2 weeks business was brisk crossed by 20,000 pedestrians. But wait there's more. It was also crossed by "932 carts and drays, 43 gigs, 17 carriages and 125 horse and rider." Tolls were discontinued when the NSW government paid the Pyrmont Bridge Company 25,500 pounds in 1884. That saved lots of pennies. The new steel bridge officially opened in 1902 accommodating Sydney's first motor vehicles connecting Pyrmont to the central business district. In 1981 the bridge was closed off to bicycles and foot traffic only as motor vehicles were redirected to adjacent freeway overpasses. On its' 100th year anniversary in 2002 Pyrmont Bridge was added to the New South Wales State Heritage Register on the 28th of June. This may not be on the top of your list to see but i do recommend walking through it. It truly is a nice bridge.

Actually that sold it really poorly, it's nothing like a bullfrog, I'm not even sure it's art deco, but it's big and it's imposing in the way those old buildings tend to be, and there's a sweet statue of an angel with a really nice figure draped in a bum-hugging sheet on a tall plinth that I like the look of, and a courtyard out the front, and inside it's wood floorboards and curling staircases. Oh and there's a liberry underneath. A liberry you guys!

Walking into Warwick Farm racecourse, for the first time in my life I know what it would have been…read morelike to live in the early 1900s. Yes, it's obviously quite old but to be honest by the end of the day I'm quite smitten. Located in Sydney's busy west, even if you're a local you'll need to fight your way through the traffic to get there but once into the course itself there is a certain country feel to this small metropolitan track. Not as big as Rosehill or Randwick you feel up close and personal with the horses as they race by whilst you try locate the number on your beasts saddle cloth. If you're like me, it's usually one of the ones towards the end. There are enough food options to suffice, there are obviously enough places to place a bet and there is a nice relaxed feel to this day and place. Sure it's old and run down but I've enjoyed my day out at 'The Farm'. I'll be back!

There doesn't seem to be the usual loitering teenagers around like many other shopping Center's. The hidden garden is a nice area to escape to. The 3 things I dont like an prevent it from being a 5 star..... Lack of parking at times, the larger stores make you use a gold coin for the trolly and I never cary coins they charge you for parking over 3hours. If there was a way to validate for another 1-2hrs I'd spend a lot more money here and shop a lot longer.

Unlike a bookshop where you know that any book that takes your fancy will hit pretty hard on your wallet, in a library you can sneak into just about anything knowing that if it turns out you really didn't want to know any more about the lifespan of a dung beetle or the moral values of 19th century American presidents, you're really no less well off. Mosman Library is A-OK. It has a reasonable collection of books, though I would like to see them a little more up-to-date, and I just can't help feeling a little miffed that I know in Victoria is it possible to put a request in for a book and have them order it for specially for you - not just from another branch of the library, but new from the publisher. Can we get that happening here?

Isn't it amazing that we have resources such as this. That we can just walk into a library and…read morepick-up hundreds of dollars worth of books and then just walk out. With books in Australia so ridiculously expensive and with an eye to conserving energy whilst still supporting the writing community, it should be mandatory to have a library card. It's perhaps no surprise then that my family and I are big fans of this space. It's an essential all weather venue for kids. Great when it's raining but crisply air-conditioned when it's baking hot. The children's section is brightly decorated and bubbles with an appropriate amount of energy and discipline for the surrounding. The children's library run great story sessions for babies and pre-schoolers, as well as activities during school holidays. They often have authors come to showcase their publications and it's well worth popping in to see what is up-coming.
