There's no doubt what so ever in my mind that the Police in NSW do an excellent job, though is the job there doing over the top, or is what there doing not enough? Regrettably NSW Police have multiple AVO Applications made every year. There are multiple that require these AVO's so the victim can be protected from Domestic Violence. Domestic Violence is an issue that should never ever occur and the police do an excellent job to stop incidents of domestic violence occurring. Unfortunately innocent people are caught up in the AVO saga, where false, Frivolous and Vexatious allegations also occur, this consumes police resources for the people that actually require an AVO for legitimate domestic violence issues. It's unfortunate due to the fact that the innocent people that are caught up in the false allegations are put through mental stress, financial stress and legal stress related factors. In NSW all it takes for an AVO to be issued is word of mouth and a verbal statement for police record, unfortunately not much investigation or none at all is put into the acquisition, sometimes resulting in false allegations. This can make it difficult for the person being accused for things that never occurred. This can result in contravening the AVO by the person being accused having a cognitive impairment. If the person accused knows they are innocent they might try to reach out to the person making the false accusations to try and figure out why they'd do such a thing and put them through unnecessary stress. Unfortunately the law doesn't really care about this and they will charge the person for Contravene AVO (Breach AVO). All of these factors could be easily addressed if the AVO was thoroughly investigated prior to the AVO application being approved. Innocent people are put through enormous amounts of stress related factors for things that have never occurred, while the person who made these false allegations gets away with committing perjury all while manipulating the system. ______________________________________ I was falsely accused of allegations that never occurred & even though I had all the Evidence & Witness/Statements the Police at Sutherland still refused to investigate the matter. It has left me Financially, Emotionally & Mentally Scarred. When all that needed to happen was for the Police to Investigate thoroughly. You can't take out a AVO on an innocent person & treat them like a criminal when nothing has occurred.
