My colleagues and I went here for a casual dinner and made a reservation in advance. They were running Restaurant Week at the time, but since the entire table has to opt in and one of my friends didn't want to, we ordered from the regular menu instead. I really liked the ambiance of the place. It's a Mediterranean, Lebanese-inspired restaurant. For appetizers, we ordered the potato borak and sautéed mushrooms. I absolutely loveddd the potato borak. For mains, we tried the fattoush salad, shish tawook, spinach and feta garden, and mudardara. The fattoush salad with the sumac dressing was my favorite. I was very keen on trying mudardara, which is a Middle Eastern lentil and rice dish topped with salad. It was something different that I tried for the first time, and I liked it. The spinach and feta dish was a bit too tangy for my taste, but my friends enjoyed it. The shish tawook came with a side of rice and was slightly dry for my palate. Overall, I really liked this restaurant. I loved the playlist they were playin..For dessert, we tried the toffee date cake with a scoop of ice cream and it was absolutely delicious. We also ordered the baklava. Personally, I wasn't a big fan as one of the flavors felt a bit overpowering... Our server was the sweetest. Some of my friends arrived late, and she was very patient and accommodating. Overall, I loved the service and had a great experience.

TL; DR: Came in on a Friday at 7:00pm and was able to get a table for 2 after waiting 8 minutes. Our waitress, Genesis, was very helpful and suggested great options for food and drinks. The Noora and Blue Zahra were pretty cocktails. The potato borak was a great start to the meal. Ordered the pasta special, but felt like it was overpriced for 8 pieces ($28). The Beef Kabob was my favorite ever - marinade was amazing!! Kafta was also good too!

Came here for a birthday dinner. Large party of 9 and was sat immediately prior to our reservation time. This was also the first night of Chicago restaurant week and all the courses were delicious and huge portions. We all had leftovers to take home, which was fantastic. The drinks were creative, and everyone loved the ambiance. Service was very friendly, but the last course did take awhile to come out. The first two course came out timely. We spent about 3 hours total at the restaurant. They also gave us a free round of birthday shots for the table. Would highly recommend this spot for a birthday dinner or cozy date night. I will definitely be coming back!

We I made a reservation for dinner. We had every intention in eating here but we parked near another restaurant that had all the smells we were looking for. So we stepped in, was seated. Viewed the menu and kept talking about the smell around the corner. We ordered a glass of wine and a cocktail. They took forever, so we decided that if the drinks took that long so would the food. We enjoyed our cocktails and settled up our bill. Overall a cutesy decorated place. Bathrooms were clean. Parking was a nightmare in this area.

I visited Medi for a birthday dinner and was pleased with the food and service. I made a reservation on Open Table for 10 people and everything went smoothly. We visited on a Thursday night so it wasn't very busy and eventually had the restaurant to ourself. First off, Medi is super aesthetic I'm surprised the Chicago Foodie Influencers haven't blown this place up on TikTok yet. We ordered the baba ganoush, hummus, dolma and shrimp harra to start. The baba ganoush was smoky and a table favorite! The dolma was on the acidic side and very lemony so for those who aren't fans of sour, I would not recommend. HOWEVER, I'm Filipino and it reminded me of Sinigang so I personally loved it! I'd go back just for the dolma, it was my personal favorite of the night. The Shrimp appetizer was also really good. Texturally fun and had a good spice kick to it. For drinks I ordered the Habibi one more time and it was amazing! On the sweeter side and you could def taste the lychee, the main reason why I ordered the drink. The beef kafta was a huge portion! I loved the side of fresh cucumber and tomato on the side. It really balanced out the dish. The rice and beef was also flavorful with a good mix of spice and fresh herbs. I had so many leftovers, I took some home to my mom and she wants me to take her to Medi now! Overall 10/10, I can't wait to come back!!

We came here for my husbands bday dinner and we loved the food here! We ordered the batata harra, spinach & feta fatayer, hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel plate, and shish tawook. My absolute favorite was the fatayer and the falafel but everything was delicious and well made. The portions are decently sized and we enjoyed sharing everything in our group. The complimentary bday dessert was also a nice touch! Can't wait to be back!

An underrated spot in Lincoln Park for sure. Chicago definitely does Mediterranean food well & this place is no exception. Everything from the food and drinks to the service to the ambiance was perfect for our triple date. I tried the falafel, baba ghanoush, jajik, fattoush salad, and shish tawook. The flavors and textures were all spot on. Our server accommodated us by providing 1 extra falafel as there were 6 of us and the dish normally comes with 5 falafels. One critique I have is that the shish tawook doesn't come with any veggies - they are an additional cost. However, the grilled veggies were awesome. Everyone loved their cocktails as well. Additionally, a drink was spilt on one of my friends so they offered us all a free round of shots. Take a look at the pic of the interior to see how beautiful this place is as well!

I was here for brunch and it was quite empty. I don't think this is a well known place for brunch, but it should be! The food was really good and the server was prompt and nice.

Wanted to try a new restaurant in the area before a show, and this was the perfect spot! The cocktails were DELISH, staff was friendly (esp our server Katherine), and food had the perfect portions for sharing. Would recommend!!!

It is definitely unique, creative, and a massive differentiator from any other cocktail bar I've been to. Now, let's talk cocktails! The creativity of the interior extends into the menu. Unlike some places that just make variations of existing classics (except for items specifically so named, like the Old Fashioned or Espresso Martini), all of their cocktails are unique and interesting. Time for a punch card? I ordered the Maximillian the Imposter. While I'm not typically a fan of banana (except for banana bread), I thought I'd step out of my comfort zone, and I wanted to try something 'flaming'. Flaming it was! The preparation of the drink involved a surprising amount of fire. I initially thought this was just for show, but no, this translated into a noticeable smoky flavor. Beyond that, the drink was strong, not overly sweet, and an all-around delight. There was one bartender on the night I was here, and while it was busy, I was still able to get my drink in a reasonable amount of time. I also feel as though they have reasonable prices, especially considering the quality and the market rates. King of Cups gets busy, and for good reason: they are an all-around phenomenal place, from the drinks to the vibe, and everything in between. If you're someone who likes a seat rather than fighting through a crowd, get a reservation! See you there!

A guitarist sits somewhere against a brick wall and plays music lightly but energetically. Service is friendly from start to finish and smiles are on everyone's faces. The menu is pretty easy to understand. You can get a three-course meal, or you can get each entree à la carte. You have two fondue candles in front of you, one for the cheese and dessert, and the other for the oil. We chose the three-course meal, and it was delightful. We started with the cheese appetizer. You get a basket of bread and fruit and we chose the seasonal cheese to dip. The oil for our meat was then left to heat, and we received a massive platter of veggies and meats for our main course. We chose the option for all selections of meat and seafood. After trying all the meats, I would opt for the lobster and shrimp. You can also substitute the oil for a broth. I would like to try the broth for next time. In one of the shakers, Gejas makes their own meat spice mix. It's recommended to put on the meats and even the desserts. It's a mix of tangy and savory and was a great compliment to the meal. We then chose the seasonal dessert, a white chocolate with vanilla cookies. Fruit, marshmallows, and churros to dip. We were so full by the time dessert came, but we enjoyed a few bites and took it home. The three-course meal, with five types of meat, came with about 10 pieces of meat. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but it truly is, with the apps, veggies, etc, your stomach will be full when you walk out of here. They also start the entire course with a mixed salad (so technically it's a four-course meal). It was very fairly priced, as well. Initially looking at the prices, you may think it's expensive, but it truly is a value with the amount of food they serve. This was rated as most romatic restaurant in Chicago. Its ambiance gives you the romantic feel, the guitarist adds to the atmosphere, and the staff is professional and friendly. This really was a great place and we enjoyed our time and meal.

Not a problem since I was dining with my husband, but I would have preferred my own salad if I was with a less familiar party. The silverware and dishes were works of art in and of themselves, but our table was scratched up considerably. My dessert was presented very creatively - although my husband's was much more straightforward. Dessert was an optional add-in, so a separate bill was brought out for this at the end. I'd never been to Willow Room and liked that they had a four course dinner menu, with items I liked. I was able to make a reservation for a Saturday night at 8:15pm. PARKING Parking on Halsted on a Saturday night can be a nightmare, and it did take a minute to find street parking. North of the 1800 block is busier because there are several restaurants within a two block radius. Side streets are permit parking after 6pm. Meters on Halsted are $2.50/hr. ATMOSPHERE Willow Room was pretty packed. We had a reservation for 8:15pm and my party of two was seated right away. The restaurant features a full bar, dim lighting and is nice and roomy. They have banquette seating around the perimeter, in addition to tables in the middle. SERVICE Our server, who was very nice and accommodating during our dining experience, came by and gave us our menu's. I had already decided on the RW menu and after review, my friend was interested in the Beef Wellington (not on RW menu). Our server informed us that normally the whole table had to order off of the RW menu if one person does, but said she would check with the kitchen since this was the last day of RW. Luckily, we were able to proceed with ordering from different menu's. FOOD I ordered a raspberry Cosmopolitan. I'm a Riesling/Moscato girlie, but I tasted the Riesling and didn't like it. RW dinner was priced at $60. I ordered: First Course: Caesar Salad (Typical salad, was good) Second Course: Mussels (Tasted fine, came with a baguette) Third Course: Short Rib (Could've been slightly more tender and better seasoned. I've definitely had better. Wouldn't order again.) Fourth Course: Orange Ricotta Donuts (Donuts were very good. Three were served, a few more would have been more filling.) My friend ordered a glass of Pinot Noir and: Truffle Fries (Fries were very tasty. I would order again if I went back.) Beef Wellington (The breading was buttery and very good. The beef could've been more seasoned. I wouldn't order.) Key Lime Pie (Was not sweet and had no taste. When our server came back and saw it was uneaten, she offered to take it off the bill. It should be removed from the menu altogether.) The busboys and server were very attentive. Our water glasses were always filled. OVERALL The atmosphere was nice, our server was great. Of all the food we ordered, I would order the truffle fries and Cosmopolitan again. I did leave full and did take my leftover Short Rib to go. Main dishes needed more seasoning. I would dine here again and try a different menu (brunch/lunch), or Happy Hour if they offer it.
