Let me begin by stating that I made a yelp account specifically to write a review for Dr. Contet…read morebecause she deserves it. I have often been described as "the reluctant patient" or even most recently as "a difficult patient." As such, you can imagine that I was not thrilled to find myself in need of a trip to the local urgent care on a Saturday night; however, the pain I had been experiencing (kidney related) was unbearable. From the onset of my visit, everyone was friendly and helpful. My overall wait time was approximately 30 minutes, the office staff was professional and kind, and the doctor was focused, patient, and genuinely caring. My situation required some additional testing so we were sent offsite for an ultrasound. On our way home, Dr. Contet called us with results. Although the results were a bit unnerving, she reassured me that I was not alone and that we would proceed to the next step. Her words were "Let me do the worrying for now, and let's get the next test scheduled." This statement put Dr. Contet beyond her position as a doctor and and made her an "amazing human being" in my eyes. One of the most beautiful souls I have ever met in my entire life. Over the next couple of days, while I waited for the next test, Dr. Contet's office checked on me to be sure I was doing ok. My situation turned out well when all the testing was completed, but even during the uncertain time, I knew that my care was a priority. It was a friendly, thorough doctor visit that has made me more open to returning when I need to. I cannot recommend Dr. Contet enough. I was seen quickly and felt genuinely cared for. I would return to Texas MedClinic and 100% recommend them to any of my friends and loved ones.

I have Fibromyalgia, RA, other arthritis's, Addison Disease, neck and back problems, so as you can see I am in great discomfort most of days. Well this was the best decision I have ever made when it comes to finding a Doctor (Ramon Reyes) He is the one that diagnosed me with Addison's Disease which I think I had been suffering from for many years never being diagnosed, so until I saw Dr. Reyes things with my health concerns really took a big change for the better. Another Great Quality is the people at the front desk they are amazing at the Helotes office Vannesa and Amanda are the sweetest and so proffesional, Joe the Lab Tech is amazing he always mangages to get the blood on the first try, Which has never happened with other Lab Techs. The nurses are awesome and very helpful and Sarah she is my diabetic specialist she is amazing and can be reached if I ever have a problem, and at there second location on 1604 and Babcock you can get most test done there and not even have to be sent out for your testing that is always a big plus. They offer so much it would be really hard to put it all in here, but they do offer classes of many kinds that will help you learn about what you are going through, the offices are always clean, and very nicely decorated. If you haven't found the right doctor's office I really suggest you try Bandera Family Health Care and they do have several locations and they are open 7 days a week even Saturday and Sunday so they are always available. The best part of this is they Take such good care of all my moms needs and she is extremely happy !! James... He will answer your call when calling the doctors office. He is the best and will get your question answered no matter what he has to do. He is very efficient, proffesional, and very personable. Carmen and Edna L. Oh and all the comments you read about long wait times Well if someone goes in and really needs that attention... Guess what they are not ignored or pushed out the door. They get the excellent care that is needed !! That's what makes this place unique. We live in a microwave society and expect things done in seconds... if that's the type of Doctor your looking for You are in the wrong place ... Becasue here Everyone gets Excellent Care and Patients actually get listened to and heard... Love Our Doctors Office and everything they Do for Us!!

The Antichrist isn't supposed to fall ill, yet I did just that nearly a month ago. I awoke one…read moremorning with a scratchy throat, body aches, congestion, and a fever of 102. I detest going to doctors lest they take a blood sample and discover jackal DNA, but I had no choice this time; The Beast is supposed to spread pestilence and disease, but he cares too much for his long-suffering parents and colleagues to expose them to COVID-19 (a distinct possibility given my symptoms). I searched online for nearby med clinics and found this place located only ten minutes from my home. I was impressed by the cleanliness of the location, the prompt service, and the overall care I received. When I arrived, I expected an inordinately long wait (the norm for doctor's offices, I've found), yet the doctor admitted me only a few minutes after I completed the online consent forms. I'm absurdly neurotic and iatrophobic, so the minimal wait time helped quell my anxiety. The doctor I saw was friendly and ingratiating. When I requested a few moments to meditate and relax prior to getting my blood pressure checked, he was patient and reassuring. My blood pressure and pulse were still ridiculously high (I should be dead) but comparatively low by my standards. I attribute that lower-than-average reading to his bedside manner. I feared that I had contracted COVID, but he suggested that my symptoms were more in line with the flu. Nevertheless, he swabbed my nostrils for both viruses (an unpleasant procedure, I assure you) and later determined that I had neither. I had what he termed an "unspecified flu-like respiratory virus" that would likely clear up in a few days. That was a relief! If you live near Helotes and find yourself in need of non-emergency medical attention, then I would highly recommend visiting this FastMed location. The staff were friendly, the place was immaculate, and the quality of service was among the best I've ever experienced at a medical facility. Tell them The Antichrist sent you and get a free five-piece order of nuggets from Chick-fil-A next door.

PUBLIC SERVICE REVIEW…read more If you are sick I'd take a HARD PASS on this place. I walked in at 2:30 and was asked, "how can I help you?" I replied, " I have something going on upper respiratory?!?" I was then told, "we are about to close...so..." I asked, "so you will not see me?" She said, "no, I can schedule you for tomorrow" I replied, "so... walk-ins are welcome" she simply said, "NO!" ALSO the place was E M P T Y, empty!! She continued to roll here eyes and mumble something under her breath when I decided to take photos for my review and document her just in case this goes against company policy. Not likely they will even read of reply to this review but I hope it helps someone.

He had already been treated in the hospital and was specifically instructed to follow up with his PCP, and he was also due for his annual visit. Unfortunately, we were met with extremely poor customer service at the front desk. The receptionist repeatedly stated that the clinic 'doesn't treat accidents,' despite us clearly explaining multiple times that he was not seeking accident treatment, but rather a hospital discharge follow-up and routine care. We even provided hospital documentation showing he had already been treated, yet there was little effort or willingness to review or upload the paperwork into his chart. The lack of listening, understanding, and basic professionalism was very concerning. As a nurse, I found this experience especially frustrating and disappointing. Access to primary care--especially for appropriate follow-up--should not be this difficult. After reading similar experiences from other patients, I feel confident that changing providers is the safest and most appropriate decision for us. Due to the nature of this encounter, I also intend to report this experience and provide appropriate documentation to outside agencies to ensure this issue is addressed and does not continue to affect other patients. You never know the circumstances or backgrounds of the patients and families you are interacting with--compassion, professionalism, and proper communication are essential in healthcare.

12/22/17: I recently needed to find a new doctor because mine no longer takes my health insurance…read more I was not happy about this at all because I love my doctor. My husband and other family members go to Bandera Family Health Care for ALL of their needs. My daughter and I were feeling under the weather for well over a month and it was just not getting better but not worse. When she started to cough and my ear was killing me along with horrible headaches I made us an appointment. We walk in to a very FULL waiting area so of course my mind does a mental sigh and I sign in. The woman who signed us in was so nice. She was very personable and very welcoming. My daughter and I find a seat and are prepared to wait. As we are waiting an elderly woman's name called. She was in a walker. One of the nurses came out (a Hispanic man) he was SO VERY NICE. He called her gorgeous and spoke to her in this tone that was the sweetest. He patiently helped her get up and helped her shuffle to the back letting her know to take her time. It was such a beautiful thing to witness. People were being called back in a very timely manner. We honestly didn't wait very long. We maybe waited 30 minutes maybe a little less. It didn't feel long. Our vitals were taken by a very nice female nurse. She was super sweet to my daughter. We were put in a room where hung out maybe 15 minutes. We saw Dr. Fischer. He took the time and the patience to talk to my 8 year old to find out how she was feeling. She is a bit shy but he kept talking to her until she warmed up to tell him how she was feeling. I appreciated him taking the time with her. It was my turn and he was confident he knew what was wrong. I was getting really bad headaches and an awful earache. It was unbearable. It turns out we both had really bad allergies. I would have never guessed because we were taking allergy medication. And honestly I was a bit skeptical because it seemed like an easy solution to an annoying problem we were suffering from for so long. But he told us what over the counter stuff to take (no prescription which I was happy about) and we left. 5 days later we are both 100% better. We felt better within a day to be honest. We are still taking the medicine as he told us too. I wish I would have gone to see him soon. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left we had an awesome experience. I am glad I was able to find a doctor and a doctors office that has a good bedside manner.
