The person at the front refused to take my ID or insurance card and insisted that I do it myself despite that fact that my kids have been in this clinic 4x in 6 weeks. It's a really frustrating process and the front desk person was not friendly.

He had already been treated in the hospital and was specifically instructed to follow up with his PCP, and he was also due for his annual visit. Unfortunately, we were met with extremely poor customer service at the front desk. The receptionist repeatedly stated that the clinic 'doesn't treat accidents,' despite us clearly explaining multiple times that he was not seeking accident treatment, but rather a hospital discharge follow-up and routine care. We even provided hospital documentation showing he had already been treated, yet there was little effort or willingness to review or upload the paperwork into his chart. The lack of listening, understanding, and basic professionalism was very concerning. As a nurse, I found this experience especially frustrating and disappointing. Access to primary care--especially for appropriate follow-up--should not be this difficult. After reading similar experiences from other patients, I feel confident that changing providers is the safest and most appropriate decision for us. Due to the nature of this encounter, I also intend to report this experience and provide appropriate documentation to outside agencies to ensure this issue is addressed and does not continue to affect other patients. You never know the circumstances or backgrounds of the patients and families you are interacting with--compassion, professionalism, and proper communication are essential in healthcare.

So, I haphazardly scheduled a 2pm appointment while trying to leave my house at 145. For once in my time in San Antonio, everyone on Huebner decided to obey the speed limit. Somehow I managed to make it by 201pm. Online scheduling was a breeze and all my info was still in there from that last time I came in with the same symptoms. The front desk staff that checked me in was professional and friendly. She politely asked if she was saying my last name correctly which I appreciated (I've been called many last names in my life). The staff that called me back, I think she said her name was Lye (?), was super nice. She took my symptoms down, took my blood pressure, and explained that COVID is on the rise again since school was back in session. She explained how symptoms are presenting and I knew exactly how I contracted it. Then I was seen by either a PA or NP. He was fast and efficient, but a little difficult to understand. Maybe in my brain fog state, I couldn't follow his fast talking. The sent my prescription to HEB and I was on my way. The facility was quiet, clean, and felt relaxing. I was in and out within 35 minutes. I hope I don't have to come back, but I'm glad to know it's close by if I need it.

I asked how long their entire system has been down and she says 30 minutes. I made my appointment through the patient portal online at 1340 sitting in my in the driveway. They then schedule another appointment in The clinic for a physical exam. This disrupts any continuity of care. I was told in a visit they they cannot provide care for chronic conditions. We check in and shortly after, a woman arrives that is coughing, sneezing, sniffling. Never covered her mouth. After 45 minutes, I got tired of waiting and left. All the people that were in the waiting room had already been called back, but none had left. So, even if they had called me at that point, I probably had another 45 minute wait in the back. So, either: 1) all those people had appointments also and this clinic is overbooking appointments, or 2) walk ins have just as much priority as appointments. If that's the case, don't make appointments, just post that everyone is a walk in.

Shirley at the front desk was very nice and we were in to see the nurse in about 15 minutes. Dr. Leinen and Tina, the nurse were great. They explained everything and got my daughter fixed up so that we could continue our vacation. Dr Leinen took a lot of time to make sure the wound was treated so that it will heal properly.
