Instead of their own capabilities they wanted a limited income person to spend additional money on something as simple as a knee brace. And now, with prescriptions that a person has taken regularly for years (from this doctor) for diabetes, we have had to spend from our limited income because they wont answer phones, or messages left behind. We started calling 2 weeks in advance and still nothing. Even the pharmacy called them multiple times and got nothing. The receptionist submitted the wrong lab test order to the lab technician when I checked in for my scheduled lab appointment. As a result, I had to go back for more blood to be drawn, costing me more time and money. This is not the first costly mistake that I've experienced here, nor, sadly has it been the last. There appears to be little to no communication among the office staff. No one can answer any questions, even simple, general questions that would normally be handled by competent office staff. Instead, the patient is handed off to someone else, who in turn either can't or won't answer questions either. The onus is on the patient to figure out their processes, yet asking questions to understand that process or to try to resolve an issue, is actively discouraged through rudeness and passing the patient off to someone else for an elusive answer that never comes. No one listens to understand what the challenge is, nor do they show any interest or initiative in resolving the actual issue. Solutions are non-existent and, as a result, the quality of care has deteriorated significantly. The problem appears to lie with the office staff rather than the nurse practitioners, who seem to be competent and capable. Perhaps better training for your office staff on clear processes, problem resolution, and setting of expectations will prevent more patients from leaving before you no longer have a viable practice.

You have found your surgeon, staff and hospital! Now for details. I was given Dr. Bagnato's name from a friend. A referral was made through my PCP and consult visit was set up. With my insurance, I had prerequisites that had to be fulfilled prior to surgery. The staff made sure I understood what they were, gave me handout information and made referrals to in-network physicians. After six long months, I was able to make the call to schedule surgery and schedule pre-op. The staff has been so unbelievably polite and friendly. Not once have I had the vibe of "I hate my job." They have always been smiling, caring, approachable and accommodating and this has not gone unnoticed. Pre-operative education class were beneficial. Office is comfortable, open and clean. The office alone has a five star rating. Lastly, Dr. Bagnato's bedside manner is wonderful. He is a busy doctor but once he is in an exam room, he is focused on individual patient needs. If you get nervous in doctor's offices, make a list of questions. He is very open to questions and doesn't make you feel rushed. I cannot speak highly enough about my experiences in the past year.

His nurse Amber was very sweet and was able to get my echo done today as well with this visit. The two AA ladies who did my preworkup (history and EKG) were magnificent as well (Sorry I dont know your names). The echo technician was excellent. She was super, super nice and engaged in great conversation during the test. It was so full in the lobby when I got there, but one of the checkout ladies came from her desk to check people in from her hand held device to assist the the ladies working the four check in windows. Without reservation, she's the best primary care doctor I've ever had, bar none. Every person on her staff has been kind, professional, and caring--every time! Even if I move an hour or two away, Dr. Scarborough will continue to be my doctor. She is a rare individual and doctor: more like a friend who cares about my welfare and as well as my health. She always schedules enough time during visits to actually talk with patients and then listens to them, then follows through to address any health issues that need her attention. We aren't shuffled through her office like a number to quickly move out of the way, but as a person who is there for her help and expertise. If I've had to call after hours for a pressing issue(which I've done a couple of times), either she or her NP Holly always calls me back quickly and takes care of what I need. I'm a grandmother, years older than she, but we're "on the same page," and I've never felt or seen any condescension from her or her staff (which is more common everywhere these days toward older people). After arriving at my appointment only then was I advised there weren't any doctors on site, my appointment would be held virtually. Honestly, if I wanted a virtual appointment I would have done that from bed, but since I was already there I said fine. There was no one in the waiting room so I thought it would be a quick process however an hour later I was still sitting there. After asking the receptionist if there were doctors onsite at the other clinics she advised there were but they were just about to call me back. Which they finally did. It seems part of the delay was they only have 1 iPad to use for all the virtual appointments.
