Had to go to Urgent Care on Zebulon Road on a couple of occasions and everyone was very kind and helpful and wait time minimal.

My recovery has been good and I owe this to the care I received at this facility.

I went to the emergency room at Coliseum MC and was admitted that night and the surgery done a day later. There is no way anyone can say that being hospitalised and having surgery was an enjoyable experience. At least not in my opinion. But the doctors and staff at Coliseum medical centre made this at the very least a very comfortable stay and I felt very safe as far as the virus was concerned. I was on the 5th floor. The nurses, the phlebotomists and the entire staff on the 5th floor are nothing short outstanding. The hospitalists and the entire medical entourage were very professional, competent, and attentive with regular visits, inquiries and updates before and after surgery. The surgery was performed with robotic assist by Dr. John Thomas Williams. I am looking forward to my final visit with him so I can personally thank him for his excellence. I am 73 years old and I've had 3 other laparoscopic surgeries without the benefit of the robotic assist. This stuff is nothing short of amazing in regards to the amount of pain after surgery. From a medical viewpoint we are living in the "good old days". Being hospitalized and having surgery could never be called fun. But, the attention rendered by Coliseum Medical Center, to my comfort, concerns, and condition were all attended to with excellence.

Macon Coliseum N.S. is being penalized by Fed Gov for high infection rates. April 20, 2016: 17 year old patient ACQUIRED two forms of RESISTANT BACTERIA (Serratia Marcescens - a U.S. Navy Biological Weapon AND Staph) DURING SHOULDER SURGERY at Macon Coliseum N.S. Hospital. Patient began running a high fever (up to 103.6) within 36 hours of surgery. Patient was taken to Macon Coliseum N.S. Emergency Room due to horrific shoulder pain at the surgery site and a high fever where the ER nurse made an error while administering his IV. The ER Nurse then proceeded to administer a dose of morphine underneath the patient's skin which allowed the patient to remain in agony for an extended length of time. The ER Nurse finally administered a second IV dose of morphine (again, underneath the patient's skin), turned out the light in the patient's room and instructed the patient to calm down due to his extremely elevated blood pressure. She left the patient. The patient suffered until a SECOND ER nurse checked on him and noticed the large lump of morphine underneath the patient's skin. Nurse 2 corrected the IV error and administered a 3rd dose of morphine which gave the patient some relief. The ER physician ordered a dose of intravenous Bactrim antibiotics and released the patient without obtaining a tissue sample from the surgery site. Several days later the patient was hospitalized for 8 days at Navicent Health for a resistant bacterial infection & emergency shoulder surgery was performed in order to cut out the bacterial infection from the patient's muscle tissue. The patient was treated by Infectious Disease and discharged with a PICC Line to continue two IV Antibiotic treatments - Rocephin & Vancomycin for 6 weeks. Several weeks later, the patient was rushed to the local ER with excruciating abdominal pains, hospitalized for 3 days in order to perform emergency gallbladder removal surgery, bile duct surgery and a biopsy that confirmed liver damage CAUSED BY THE SUPER ANTIBIOTICS. Lab tests confirmed damage was consistent with the use of Rocephin & Vancomycin IV antibiotics. The 17 year old patient will now struggle for the rest of his life with a 30% mobility in his dominant right arm due to inadequate healthcare services in addition to organ loss/damage. Macon Coliseum N.S. was one of many Georgia hospitals being penalized by the Federal Government for a HIGH RATE OF INFECTIONS which patient's are not made aware of when they elect to have surgery at a high infection facility.

Cardiologist. I also gave a urine sample. She extensive notes on my health and scheduled me for a follow up visit. For the first time in many years I felt I had good visit with a medical professional. Ms. Carswell listened to me. I did not feel rushed. I was reading the comments below and I am surprised this place is fee based. I have insurance, and I earn enough to not be subjected to any income based pricing. However even being fee based the patients get an excellent quality of care if they all recieved the same level of care I did. In all honesty, fee based or not, I'd choose this clinic over other medical offices that are not fee based. I had a better, more through, visit here than I've had anywhere else in years.

The recording playing throughout said "one of our team members will assist you, there are 2 callers ahead of you" then there was one caller left, then I was sent to voicemail. The front office also cannot figure out how to bill the correct insurance I have. As far as how being seen by the doctor goes, I've waited 30-45 minutes in the patient room to see the doctor. The last time I went, he said he would have to research if there's any medicines he can prescribe that don't interact with what I currently take. He seemed rushed, probably because he was so behind, but I never did get that prescription. All in all, unless you get lucky, this place will waste A LOT of your time.

Whelp, It's Healthcare! You are lucky if you get positive responses these days. I have dealt with…read moreother parts of Atrium and was definitely pleased, but this area was a total letdown. I went from being very optimistic to feeling back at square one once again. I've been waiting over a month to hear from a referral sent in from my doctor. I was even proactive and made calls to the facility myself and left messages. No one ever answers the phone, and no one ever will return your call. After reading their reviews, I do see why they have such low scores. One day, the healthcare system will prove me wrong more than prove me right in that it really sucks! Update 6/27/24: I received a call on 6/26/24 from the head nurse, and an appointment was scheduled. Honestly, I didn't know the ins and outs of this clinic until recently. My mind has been bouncing all over the place. The thought of this is what you need, but this is not how you want it. After great consideration and reading the reviews in depth, I don't feel I want to entertain this place. Not everyone has bad experiences. However, I personally do not want to be a "doctor in training" guinea pig. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I hear they are supervised. But for me, when it's surgical matters, I need that doctor with the expertise and years of know-how making those cuts and incisions. Expert doctors do error also, but I'd prefer it to be them and not a trainee. And I should have a choice no matter where I go. I understand everyone needs training, but it just won't be on me. Thank you, but no, thank you. I will be canceling that appointment. I will be taking the private doctor route. Even when you feel stuck without options, pull yourself together and strive for the very best that is out there. Love yourself enough to do so!
