Had to go to Urgent Care on Zebulon Road on a couple of occasions and everyone was very kind and helpful and wait time minimal.

This medical center in my opinion is very primitive and is not staffed with knowledgeable and capable staff. I have seen several people I know including relatives come here for treatment and did not survive. When coming here to speak with staff I've noticed that between the nursing and supportive staff they're answers about loved ones are vague, and unclear and they spend too much time huddled laughing and talking about things unrelated to medical business. If you have a loved one in need of medical attention I highly recommend you take them elsewhere. If you have the ability transfer them to Atlanta, you will not get the needed help you need here, and that's my honest opinion... read more

i'm extremely upset with their policy on payments. I was getting text messages stating I had a balance from my ER visit. I was making monthly payments on the account then I get a text message from alliance collection stating that my bill was put into collection when I was making payments. I then call atrium because it would not allow me to make or even get a code to sign into my account and I was told well at the bottom of your bill there is very small fine print, You probably didn't see it that if you don't pay the balance in full then it will get sent to collections well, why would they put it in very small fine print that I probably missed unless they want us patients to fail so they can put us into collections so instead of still taking my payments as I was doing every month, they just threw me into collections and I had to pay the full balance in essence, taking money away from other things that I had as a budget so they could get their full payment when they were accepting payments, their policy is absolutely ridiculous and they need to update that. read more

This hospital has the slowest turnover they worse than Grady. You're better off going to Warner Robins to get seen. We've been here in the Emergency for 8 hrs. The nurse told me "we have to get everyone that's worst off in the back first" ok lady it doesn't take 6 hours to read an X-ray. They just be having ppl wait hours at a time. Now it's not even packed and we're still waiting. Y'all need to do better as a staff and a hospital. Y'all lack compassion and empathy for others. I know I'll never comeback here. read more

Went to emergency room for help with paracentesis surgery and they put me in the back of emergency room in the hall for 8hrs, in the meantime I was assigned to a nurse (Lyndsey Young red head) by time 6hrs went by I walked up to nurse desk to asked what's up that's when I found out there is a doctor (stokes) and a nurse assigned to me that I never saw. There was a dozen ppl in the hall waiting also . I took a picture of the nurse to send to my family and she saw she stopped with what she was doing to run tell on me, and within seconds there was a white lady with blonde hair come to confirm that I deleted the picture, two hrs later they put me in a holding cell this was on the 5th and it is the 7th and finally got a room. They was going to send me home but all this time they finally admitted me (two days later) once I got where I was supposed to go the rest of the crew was amazing from bottom of the ladder to the top. above and beyond. We fear for our family member's life, health, & safety here. Atrium Health Navicent actually deserves ZERO stars & deserves to be shut down! My 21 year old niece was hit by a driver on May 10th and rushed to AHN. She has a broken neck, broken spine/back, 3 broken ribs, a collapsed lung, 2 broken ankles, a broken leg, a broken hip, and more. We didn't even find out she had a broken jaw until a week later of being here. We just learned she also has pneumonia, clearly which she caught in this dirty facility full of negligent employees. The only caring, attentive person encountered so far has been a tech named Ms. Pat. We have been trying to get her transferred to another hospital for the past 10-13 days, but the awaiting facility needs a letter from a Dr. McClendon, whom no one seems to be able to reach. No one informed our family of her jaw being broken on May 10th, we didn't find out until a week later when applying for a transfer and it was discovered in the doctor's notes. The staff here have poor communication skills with the patients & parents/family, they tell at my niece about her bothering them (imagine a paralyzed parapalegic 21 year old patient - the next youngest patient is 46 years old - in the Neuro ICU "bothering" you just because they're requesting their pain medication that is 5 hours late!) & them being short staffed, something about it being only 1 of them assigned to 11 parapalegic patients. Hire more nurses, or close your facility down! On May 11th, my niece was given anesthesia for her 1st surgery. The anesthesia wore off so she woke up halfway through the surgery, & she could feel the pain. They did nothing. When she told her parents later that day, her parents questioned the staff about it, the surgeon said she's lying, that she dreamt she woke up. She had her graduation at the hospital, and did not take any pain medication beforehand because she did not want to be sleep during the ceremony. After the ceremony, they put her back in her room and left her there unattended to for hours, didn't give her any kind of medication at all. She was calling us in such excruciating pain and tears. We are not allowed to visit her past 7pm, which we found out from the extremely rude security staff. We also found out children under 12 are not allowed to visit at all, courtesy of the rude security staff as well after we brought my niece's goddaughter to visit her. None of us are from Macon, we are from 2 hours away, we drive there everyday and it's a problem every single day from the rude security people. They constantly threaten to call the police on us just for saying the slightest thing they don't like. The nurses rarely respond to any of her calls, and if they do, they take hours to go in her room. Sometimes no employees go in her room at all during their shifts. Her room is NOT being cleaned daily, she is NOT being bathed some days at all, she's not being given her meds on time, and worst of all she is NOT being fed. She has very low blood pressure now, so common sense should tell you to make sure she eats so she can be okay for her surgeries and physical therapy sessions. Nonetheless, Friday they went all day without feeding her so she couldn't even do physical therapy and the therapist was even upset with them not feeding her. Both Friday & Saturday nights the nurses on duty ignored her calls for hours; so after they had been ignoring her calls for 5 hours straight, she had to summon the strength to dial 9-1-1 for assistance. Luckily, the 9-1-1 operators have sympathy & compassion, & stayed on the phone with her while they contacted the hospital and sent someone to her room. However, the nurse who finally came to the room had the nerve to yell at her for calling 9-1-1 and said they were busy with other patients and that she's always bothering them. She's in a body cast, slid halfway off of the bed, & no one had checked on her at all. There's so much more I could write, but it will exceed the character limit. If you care anything about your loved ones, avoid this place if possible! A NIGHTMARE! read more

Lack of communication with family necessary for good patient care. Diagnosis contradicted by different nurses. No clear and complete diagnosis given at discharge. Necessary psychiatric medications not prescribed on discharge. Failure to provide follow up appointments in city where patient would be living. read more

Im a heart patient complaining about shortness of breath and chest pain etc.... The protocol is usually to take me straight to the back but today was horrible and they did not car. I ended up leaving after waiting almost 7 hours and they were giving rooms to people who just arrive. If I die at home, I'm suing!!!! read more

Mental health medication not in supply so my stay was miserable not being able to rest very moody medication for mental health are not to be missed over days I understand The hospital is here to make big profit but this should not come at our expense. Respiratory medication is the same being given medication that is available and not what is prescribed is again is not good in these cases we should be able to bring ours from home and given to the charge nurses this way we / I would ed be struggling to breath and my last thing is I do not like to be talked down to it not every body in respiratory but this is happening so I will not recommend this hospital to any body that can go to another hospital any time in the future. My wife road in the ambulance to the medical center on a Friday afternoon about 2pm and still hadn't seen the doctor at 2am. The waiting room had at least 30 people in it. The lady behind the desk was very rude to my wife when we came inside during a possible active shooter. I wouldn't bring a dead dog to this place. read more

ATRIUM NAVICENT MEDICAL CENTER MACON GA INHUMANE TREATMENT I have an adjustment disorder and severe anxiety and received some really bad news that caused me to be suicidal and went for some help. I was taken to the ER PSYCHOLOGICAL WARD. Where they sat me in a recliner in a room full of people with all kinds of mental illnesses. There I was suppose to sit and sleep for days without windows or sun light. I never knew if it were day or night. My chair was also broken and would not recline so I had to sleep sitting up which I ended up sleeping on the nasty floor. I'm a 60 yrs old woman with pinched nerves in my back. I was subjected other patients screaming and hitting, kicking walls constantly. It was hardly ever quiet. I saw a man shit on the floor 3 separate times and the observers staff would say over and over, "that's not in my description to clean that up" and waited hours while smelling it before it was cleaned up. The shower was broken so I never got a shower in more than 3 days, forcing us to live in bad hygiene. I never saw a toothbrush. I also had bronchitis and a bad cough. They never addressed, spoke of it or said anything about it, yet my records show I was given codiene cough medicine, (guessing one of the staff must have taken it because I never did,so my bronchitis got worse. I waited over 7 hours for anxiety medicine and they finally gave it to me when I fainted on the floor. We could not do anything but stand in front of our chair and stretch or use the bathroom. They expect you to sit and sleep in a chair for days without exercise or sunlight mixed with constant screaming from patients worse off mentally. It made my anxiety worse and they act like being conformed like an animal is not suppose to bother you. I saw a 25 yr old woman there that had been there 3 days already when I arrived, I was there 3 days and she was there when I let and she was only there for grief. She had just had a baby a week before. She was still there when I left. THATS OVER A WEEK CONFINED TO A CHAIR! I went through all that HELL and only received a prescription to pick up that caused me forget my phone number. When I sleep now I'm having nightmares that I'm still in that chair. I felt like what I went though was inhumane. I can't believe this is even legal. Ppl with mental illness should be treated like ppl with physical illness. My bill is almost 4k. Thats over 1000k a day just for some sandwiches, medication that didn't work and a broken recliner chair. You ppl are pure evil. I will NOT pay this bill. Myself nor my family will EVER use this 2 star hospital ever again. read more

I received care at Navicent Health (Luce Heart Institute) on 29 Mar. 2021. My procedure was for a cardiac catheterization recommended by my cardiologist. The care I received from all employees that I interacted with during my stay was exceptional! A special shout out to my attending nurse (Mr. Alex P.) and the employee that prepped me for the procedure (Ms. Sandra)! Excellent care by these two employees. And I can't say enough good things about my cardiologist (Dr Mueez Ahmed). My cath. was negative and I was discharged that evening. My recovery has been good and I owe this to the care I received at this facility. Middle GA. This is strictly about billing, They kept sending me more bills after I paid off 2 separate bill. The first bill was from their medstop, the second came from the emergency room. And now they sent a 3rd bill for the doctor. I went in for a rabies shot, and my total bill was $12,000. Even with insurance, the fist two bills covered $2000, and the 3rd bill covered $1200. One shot in the emergency room was $7000! This hospital only wants your money and they send you to collections 6 months after the bill because I was waiting to see how much insurance will cover. Thank goodness there's another hospital 2 miles down the road, I'll be going there next time. Once again, they only want your money! read more

OkSo far so good I guess they told us to be here at 6 am.they just took keilin back and it's 6;47. They said the operation will take about an hour .just want this over . Keilin happy that her bump will be gone when she wakes up.Ok it did take an hour they called us to come in recovery .the place is very pretty and everyone was super nice ! They came in and made us coffee and all were very friendly .So having an operation sucks but if you need one this place is good , Im only giving it 4 stars because it was.after all an operation ! read more

I wish I didn't have to leave a star I am currently working in a hospital not to far from this one and I must say there is a complete difference this place is not only dirty but the people there have no regard for human life let alone the sick or injured I asked over and over again for my young daughter to have a clean purwick and I got every excuse from they only get 10 a day from material management to their budget only required each pt to get one. We stayed 6 days day 4 I noticed ants and realized I had been so terrified of the trauma my daughter just suffered that I hadn't realized this room hadn't been cleaned since I been there (besides me taking out our trash and linen) no one had even emptied one bag, so I saw the maintenance lady in the hall I asked "ma'am when u have a moment can u sweep and mop the floor in here" well she kindly told me there would need to be an order for that a day later someone told me that was not true! Besides the several failed attempts at IVs and blood sticks on a 16 year old girl with perfectly fine veins, when attempting to straight cath my daughter the nurse literally leaned on her while she laid there with a broken hip and pelvis, when my daughter screamed a gut wrenching soul snatching scream this little nurse did not even let go of her my daughter had to physically take her hands off of her ... In my unit we respond to each call light in a timely manner every time I hit the call light at atrium health I had to walk outside the room to the nurses station to get a response. This hospital is filled with travelers who don't care about the hospital itself! This place is horrible Horrible HORRIBLE please go anywhere else for your healthcare needs I will say they have an amazing Emergency room staff but that's just as far as that goes from the moment we were out of the er it was hell there so if your not having an immediate emergency stay away read more

I had a knee replacement surgery done last year and it was performed at Navicent. I was so disappointed at how I was treated by the nurses and physical therapists! I'll never go back to Navicent for any type of care unless they make the effort to change. Now my mother is in their care and is having similar issues but worse. I got this text from my sister this morning " Mom was not doing well last night. She was having chills and was in intense pain. The room was trashed and smelled bad. Her bedsheets had blood on them and she had accidentally pulled her IV out and it had leaked all over her making her even colder. She had to pee and no one came right away so we tried to help her with all the wires. It was a mess. The tube in her nose was still there but was not connected. That is how they are inserting her pain meds." read more

Bad experience my husband had outpatient surgery we came from a hour and 15 minutes away they said he needed someone to come with him. They told me I had to wait outside 2 of the employees suggested I wait in my car keep in mind they wanted him here at 7am it is now 135 very hot day.I do not understand why they couldn't let me wait for him and I don't understand why they would tell anyone on a hot day to sit your car, I would think about not doing any business here we went to Augusta university for his last procedure and it was a totally different experience it is 3 hrs there for us but I will go there instead of here for future they allowed me to stay with my husband also the staff were rude in telling me to go wait in my car. read more

I can not say enough about the experience our family had during the care of our mother with her stay at the Macon Medical Center of Georgia. From the time she was admitted until the moment she was released; we got nothing short of the very best in care for her. All staff members were extremely eager to assist in every way possible. The were very knowledgeable in their craft and from what I could see, they made you feel safe in Trusted Hands. Went here January 24 emergency a fib they call me go to registration desk now mind you I'm retired medically the register never ask for my insurance so my mother gave her my Medicare disability card and secondary insurance card. So they keep me til February 1 2019. Nurses were excellent, ordlies, kitchen staff, assistants. Now after. Come home BOOM!! I GO to my mail box 02-13-19I see $1,700 some odd dollars in change bill from Georgia emergency I'm like what the Fuck!! No fucking way. Can't talk to you in comment she say old on.15 minute wait this knucklehead comes back on saying wait til super become available her phone start to break up I say call me back it may clear up.All she saying is my Secondary is my primary im got.I hang up on her .Call my old employer they tell me what is what medicareis my primary because I'm SSD .I CALL BACK GET A SENSIBLE Rep he will reprocess .my claim and I agree to him I'm SSD DISABILITY. Went to ER with disabled back pain. Could barely walk. Saw a PA that seemed less than concerned, treated me like crap and seemed to be more interested in if I were a drug addict. I'm a professional business analyst that's never taken a drug in my life. I left without a single prescription for pain as I have nothing at home that will relieve it. This is just aa crappy facility. If you want real treatment perhaps you should consider another provider as I did. I think my dog would have received better care than this. I would never consider taking any family member to this hell hole. read more

They are actually not the slowest or indifferent hospital I've had the pleasure of using but they are up there. And it was a lot of people waiting to see the doctors. I believe had they been more aggressive to solve the problems they could be a lot more efficient. Efficiency means life and death in some cases when dealing in the medical realm. This doesn't surprise me given the state of the American health care system. They are product of their environment. I truly believe it can really turn into one of the top hospitals in the country, if the old heads get out of the way with that FAT CAT attitude and way of doing business.
