"Not Good" I guess Is the lowest 1 star rating I can provide, which isn't nearly as bad as what it should be. Dont dare bring a vehicle here for even an oil change, let alone an actual problem with your vehicle. I brought a vehicle in that was idling veey rough, and approved and spent $1300 to have various engine sensors, an actuator and gasket(s) replaced, PLUS A FULL SYNTHETIC OIL CHANGE done only to be told, after the fact, that the entire engine needed to be replaced... So....they did all of that work, and changed the oil on a vehicle that they then deemed to need the ENTIRE motor needing replaced....and sent a $4800 additional estimate for that before even reaching out to me and letting me know that the $1300 worth of "repairs" didnt accomplish anything, nor was necessary. If i can prevent one person from having this experience, the 10 minutes i'm taking to write this review was worth it. I took my car in because it was overheating and the check engine light was on. They gave me an estimate to change the oil pan and various other things, along with the engine turbo. I asked the mechanic if the engine was good because I do not want to invest a ton of money into a vehicle if the engine is going to go bad anyway. His response was " The only code that is going off is the turbo code, so after we replace that it should be fine."I approved them to replace the turbo and the other things, $4,000. After they fixed those things a week later, I get another estimate to replace brakes, routers and struts. He tells me they need to be replaced but he wouldn't recommend it because the engine has a rod knocking and it's only a matter of time before the engine gives out. I spoke with another mechanic to get a second option. They told me that they DEFINITELY would have known the engine had a rod knocking before replacing the turbo. What they did was extremely unethical. Not only that but... they told me they had a "payment option" so I applied not knowing that it was PREDATORY LENDING at 140.81% INTEREST!!! Women and non-car savvy folks beware. My daughter was just horribly taken advantage of by MechanicOne. They are not straightforward in their dealings, they misquote and misrepresent the work they are performing, and they provide inaccurate estimates both for time and money. While there were a lot of things wrong with her interactions this piece stood out to me the most. Mechanics have a diagnostic fee, this is just facts. Honest mechanics will waive the fee if you keep your business with the mechanic who did the diagnosing. Not so here. $449.90. They called it a second diagnostic fee. She was told the reader (which we had done at AutoZone and it said the Turbo was bad) was not specific enough and they had to do more research. I am still struggling with how AutoZone nailed it on the first try, for free. but it took an additional day and $450 for MechanicOne to figure it out. Let's talk parts; they charged nearly double the cost of some of the parts. You can usually expect a markup at any mechanic, double is insane. Elite Water Outlet - $165 ($30-$60) Turbo - $923.70 ($700) Exhaust Manifold Gasket Set - $25 ($10) Turbocharger oil line - $72 ($25-$30) Then there is the "drain and flush" for the coolant system. The part that was being replaced, the turbo, meant that the coolant system was pretty much going to drain on its own. So a $60-70 flush requiring less effort than usual - yeah, that was $125. The final issue regards time. A turbo change is a 3 1/2 hour for an amateur mechanic. It took them 5 days to get this car back. And they couldn't give a reason why. When I asked if they didn't have the parts (we had purchased the parts but were asked to return them. The original plan was for me to do the work till I got sick), they said no it wasn't the parts. When I asked if it was staffing, they said no. I got circular explanations about how flushing lines and 10-mile test drives would somehow add up to the total number of days. This review will be submitted to a variety of locations for maximum visibility. Taking advantage of people who lack the skillset for your trade is abhorrent. read more

Folks This how to find the true measure of a company by using the reviews placed on a company by others that have done business with them. So before you proceed, please note a pattern that appears. Sporatic bad reviews that happen once in awhile for different things will just happen with just about any business. No matter how a company tries or even if they are one of the best at what they do, a bad review from someone cannot be avoided. However, if a company has many five star reviews and as many one and two star reviews with nothing much in the middle and if the one and two star reviews all relate to similar issues, then you know the company has problems. More than likely, the five stars were put there by not actually any of the customers, it more than likely the reviews were planted there by friends of the business. So here in lies Mechanic One, they are a badly run company that preys on ones that are not mechanically savoy. They lack any kind of problem solving skills and you will never get out of there for less that $1000.00. They will try to point out that your vehicle has something major wrong with the drivetrain. I've experienced this recently and did not do my homework or follow my own advice before using them. My vehicle got charged over $1000.00 and the vehicle left with not being fixed. They basically said that I needed a new engine and did not point out specifically why. I took my 2016 Tiguan TSI to be serviced after my check engine light came on. I had recently had the gas delivery service at my employer fill up my car and they left the cap ajar and I figured it was a fuel air leak code they'd probably have to turn off. They said they found a code for a large evaporative leak. And they closed the cap securely, cleared the code and drove the car it came right back on. So they said they could perform a diagnosis on that code to the tune of 449$. They thought they were doing me a service with 35% off and using the rest towards any required repairs. My fuel cap was cracked. Could that have been the cause for the code? Maybe? According to searches I did after it could have yielded that P0455 code they found but I'll never truly know because according to Tahla my evap solenoid needed to be replaced. He sounded knowledgeable. Said they often work on these cars. This is often seen with age and mileage and my car is getting up there, so I believed him and agreed to the fix because I need my car. It all cost $1200. Please YouTube repairing a solenoid before you let someone charge you that because I nearly died after I watched how easy it is to replace. Now when I I get another text from Tahla expect to hear my car is done-more of news. My head gasket is leaking and will need to be replaced but they're almost done with all the other work. Ok? So you were dish so g and working on things in my engine but you put it all back together before you told me it needs more? He said that they're in two different locations and that the solenoid was electrical and that's what they were fixing. So you're looking for something to fix when it's convenient for you? Oh and that fix also costs 1100$? Ummmm I think not. I got lured in by the convenience and the ease of the texting estimates. And Tahla sounded knowledgeable but they're just like all the other untrustworthy mechanics out there. Fishing for work. Upcharging on parts. Definitely preying on women. Wish I can get this place a negative star! I was also told that they needed to do a second diagnose for an additional $449 but then gave me a discount so it's really only $299. When I went to AutoZone right before and they told me exactly what the problem was but somehow when they scanned it, they said something is wrong with my computer reader in my car, which is $1000 part. It's crazy because I believe that if it was that part that was faulty, AutoZone would picked it up with the reader. Oh, next time I will be on the lookout for shady mechanics and they will never get my business again. I would like to say my service was good, but in reviewing things I've had fixed at this company I have realized it was not. I have taken a couple cars into the shop. Initially, I was okay (not happy) with the service, but they kept assuring me that they were working with me and trying to get the best deal for me. One of my cars had to be taken in for the same issue several times and they still weren't able to fix it. They left screws in my cup holder and when I asked them about it they just said "oh, those were extra". I began to to have my doubts about what they were doing when they said they had to replace a part that was rusted. When I asked to see the part they replaced, it was a part free of rust. I asked them about the lack of rust and they dismissed that as nothing. I left unsettled and concerned. I know I had to get things fixed on my car and during the time (COVID times), I dreaded going there because each time I went, I knew a new something would be discovered in which they said I should replace. The bills kept piling up. They recommended this and then that. Each time I said it was expensive and that I didn't have the money, they would offer me "the payment" plan I hear so many other customers talk about. I was on a budget and was staying away from that. My last draw was when I brought a car in for someone else. I wanted to get it fix so they could drive it and took it to Mechanic One. My concern was some safety issues. They kept calling me to authorize repair after repair. I thought they were fixing it so that is would be safe and the person who was to drive it would be safe driving it. The total after all this back and forth and assurance that it would be good to drive was close over $4000.00. $4000.00! I gave it to the person it was meant for and to my surprise as they were just driving around their complex, the left wheel of the car was leaning into the car. How do mechanics miss that? Leaning in after over $4000.00! They even had the audacity to encourage me to cone in for an oil change. (Which I declined.). When I contacted the owner to express my dissatisfaction, he just said "you can have the texts alert stopped". But I was disappointed with the increasingly shady and bad repairs. I was also disappointed in the fact that this place was all about getting the dollar and not looking out for the customer's best interests when it came to the car and the safety of it. I have read other customer comments that said when repair issues were addressed, the response was usually dismissive, rude, or complete avoidance. I have experienced some of these responses. Another thing that really bothered me. When I took my car in to get a bumper part repaired, they messed the bumper clip up and caused part of the bumper part to separate from the car and rise above the flush it was set in. They didn't take responsibility for the damage of any of it, but said they would try and fix it. Oh, they fixed it all right. They super glued it back together And said it should be fine. It wasn't. The piece they glued started to come off and stick out over the section just above the headlight. Eventually, it started to separate from the car itself. I had to take it to a body shop to get it fixed. It is sad that places like this, in my experience with them, focused only on the money and getting as much as they can out of the customer. I would not recommend this company to anyone. I would not recommend they take their car there, get it fixed there, or get the payment plan. They talk really good game. They say things you want to hear. But the quality and accountability are lacking. I'm sorry for anyone who has had a bad experience taking their car to this shop. I have read that few reviews that have had a good experience, but in my experience it has been nothing but a bad experience with this company. Do not go to this repair shop. read more

Would never want anyone in my family to come here again. It first starts with the misdiagnosis because they have people who "didn't know" of certain issues going on. Then the constant phone calls back trying to add to the price they've already quoted, which IS illegal (for those that don't know). Trying to tack on extra charges for parts for something that they "didn't know" about. So if you expect your car to be back within the time frame they give you, multiply it by four, wouldn't come here during the holidays if you want to be able to still travel within reasonable times. There is potentially uncertified mechanics working within the shop as well, or they really just "didn't know" a lot of needed parts/information. GO TO AN ACTUAL DEALERSHIP. Save yourself the trouble. And I had assumed they may be short staffed, if that's the case shut down and stop being unethical in your services. If you have no other choice make sure that you are able to see their ASE certification. I assume that as long as people go here, more bad reviews shall be written. Came in here a little over a week ago. I had just had a bunch of work done at a competitor - shocks, struts, oil change, filters, a belt, wipers, etc. Then I noticed a leak. Thought it was an oil leak, but after taking it back to the competitor, they said it was a trans fluid leak. They didn't do that type of work, so after a quick search I ended up down the road at Mechanic One. It was early on Black Friday when I rolled in. They hoisted my car and said that both of the seals on the transmission were shot. They even took me into the garage and showed me, which I thought was a nice touch. They told me that they could have my car done that day. I left it with them and gave them the go ahead. They did inform me that they would be doing a full inspection on the vehicle, so when I got a call a few hours later saying I should replace a gasket that was leaking oil, I wasn't happy...but I wasn't surprised either. I felt like the prices were reasonable, the service was friendly and knowledgeable, and the repairs got completed in an acceptable amount of time. Would come back here for sure. read more

12/11 light came back on. The $760 repair didn't fix my concern :(. Long story short I am getting good will assistance from my vehicles OEM who are going to pay 90% of my vehicles transmission replacement cost. I still think Mechanic One offers great communication, but I had to lower my review because I paid $760 and didn't get my concern fixed. In my opinion if a root-cause is conducted correctly the confidence in the repair should never be less than 100%. I was informed the repair done on my vehicle works 90% of the time. Had to take my edge to have vista roof looked at. Wouldn't close properly. Talked to a few other places that were uninterested in even looking at it. The clips that held the windows in to the roof line had broke. A design flaw that Ford makes money on because they only sell the full rack for replacement. No way to get the clips only. Anyway Mechanic One has it fully fixed within just a few days and made sure I had a ride home. Also picked me up when Edge was finished as well. Very professional and courteous. Will repeat business.
